Chapter 205: Chapter 204: Xiao Yi’s Return

The Sky-splitting Sword Sect was still as bustling as ever today.

Practicing, sparring, and exchanging pointers were everywhere to be seen.

All because, in just over ten days, it would be the time for the Sky-splitting Sword Sect’s grand competition, the day of the overall assessment.

Therefore, the Sword Sect had opened all martial arts arenas and Cultivation Technique halls, as well as various other training grounds.

So that the disciples could enhance their strength a bit more in the remaining time.

To prepare for the upcoming overall assessment.

Of course, important training grounds like the Cold Ice Pool were not open to the public.

In the plaza, the huge martial arts arena was probably the place where the most disciples gathered.

Because many disciples knew.

With just over ten days left, no matter how much they practiced, their Cultivation wouldn’t improve by much.

It was better to spar more with other disciples and improve strength through actual combat.

Even some of the Inner Sect Deacons had come to act as referees and assist the disciples.

On the martial arts arena, a figure was suddenly knocked down.

The referee announced loudly, ”This match, Sword Hall Chief Guu Changkong wins.”

The figure who had been knocked off the arena was an Inner Sect Disciple named Chen Shan, whose Cultivation had reached the Mysterious Profundity Third Layer.

”Thank you for showing mercy, Brother Changkong. Chen Shan has learned a lot,” Chen Shan rose from the ground, dusted himself off, and said with clasped fists.

”No problem,” Guu Changkong said nonchalantly, ”Brother Chen Shan, your Cultivation is still shallow, you still need to practice diligently.”

”I will keep Brother Changkong’s teachings in mind.” Chen Shan smiled and nodded.

Next, another Disciple stepped up to exchange pointers.

Of course, within a few minutes, they were also knocked down from the stage.

”This match, Sword Hall Chief Guu Changkong wins,” the referee announced loudly.

”Brother Changkong, you’re so powerful.”

The person who had just been knocked off the arena was a female disciple from the Ten Thousand Wood Hall.

She had a pretty face and a fine figure.

At this moment, she was looking at Guu Changkong with admiration on her face.

”If Little Sister practices more, you will eventually reach my strength,” Guu Changkong said softly.

”Thank you, Brother Changkong,” the female disciple said with her eyes sparkling and jumping for joy.

Next, another Disciple came forward to exchange pointers...

One after another, Disciples were knocked off the stage, and each one looked up to Guu Changkong immensely.

Guu Changkong always offered a few perfunctory words of advice, appearing for all the world like the Chief Big Brother of the entire sect.

Of course, he also very much enjoyed this feeling.

Under the stage, Guu Changfeng bragged proudly to his sycophants.

”My brother is the first genius of the Sky-splitting Sword Sect, his fame is indeed well deserved.”

”Ye Ming and Miao Qianhuo, they just rely on their skills in refining medicine.”

”Otherwise, how could they be qualified to be named alongside my brother.”

The sycophants beside him vigorously nodded their heads in agreement.

Suddenly, a voice that was neither cold nor warm sounded.

”If it weren’t for Xiao Yi’s absence, do you think your brother would be enjoying such glory?”

The speakers were Hua Jian, Hee Cang, and others.

They were the Disciples who had entered the Sky-splitting Sword Sect alongside Xiao Yi back in the day.

”Heh, truly laughable,” Guu Changfeng retorted with disdain, ”You’re comparing a dead man to my brother?”

”That kind of trash, if it weren’t for his own lack of strength, how could he have died at the claws of a demon beast?”

Hua Jian and the others were just about to retort.

Guu Changfeng said coldly, ”Shut your dog mouths, otherwise, don’t blame me for not being polite.”

...

Elsewhere, a figure was racing toward the Sky-splitting Sword Sect.

It was indeed Xiao Yi.

He did not stop, as per the rules of the sect, members of the Sky-splitting Sword Sect who had attained the Mystic Breakthrough Realm could return directly to the sect without passing through the main gate.

Whoosh...

The two Outer Sect Stewards guarding the gate didn’t even manage to see what that thing was.

They only felt a streak of light flash by high above.

”Was that a little bird?”

”Since when could a little bird fly so fast? You must have seen it wrong.”

The two Outer Sect Stewards shook their heads, believing it to be an illusion, and did not give it much thought, just continuing to guard the gate.

Before long, Xiao Yi had already arrived at the Outer Sect Treasury.

Just as in days past.

A desk was placed at a prominent location within the treasury.

Only this time, the person behind the desk had changed.

It was not Elder Yi but a middle-aged steward.

”Hmm?” Xiao Yi furrowed his brows and stepped forward to ask, ”Excuse me, Deacon, where is Elder Yi?”

The middle-aged Deacon, seemingly absorbed in reading a book, replied without lifting his head, ”Which disciple are you, not knowing Elder Yi is now a taboo in the Sword Sect? Who gave you the courage to bring him up?”

”Just go and receive your punishment.”

”Taboo?” Xiao Yi frowned and then his expression changed.

Xiao Yi slammed his hand down on the desk, gritting his teeth, ”Where is Elder Yi, exactly?”

With a loud slap that startled the Deacon.

”Who is this brat looking for a beating...” The Deacon had just been about to scold him.

But when he looked up and saw it was Xiao Yi, his eyes widened in shock.

”Xiao... Xiao... Xiao...” The Deacon seemed unable to react.

”Xiao Yi,” Xiao Yi said in a deep voice.

”Ah, right, Xiao Yi, weren’t you dead?” The Deacon’s face showed a look of horror.

”You’re the one who’s dead.” Xiao Yi rolled his eyes.

”Where is Elder Yi?” Xiao Yi asked again, emphasizing his tone.

”Elder Yi, he...” The Deacon hesitated.

”Speak.” Xiao Yi grabbed hold of his collar and yanked him up.

Startled, the Deacon honestly replied, ”Elder Yi has left.”

”Left? Why?” Xiao Yi pressed for answers.

”I don’t know,” the Deacon answered, ”I am just an Outer Sect Steward, how would I know?”

”All I know is that, on that day, it seemed as if Elder Yi had a fight with the elders, and then he left.”

The events of that day had already become a taboo in the Sword Sect.

The elders did not want to bring it up, nor did they want others to do so.

”Damn it.” Xiao Yi let go of the Deacon, his figure vanished in a flash.

In no time, he sensed the presence of people such as Hua Jian and Hee Cang by the enormous Martial Arts Arena.

He hurried towards the two.

At this moment, Guu Changfeng was still boasting triumphantly.

Unable to stand it, Hua Jian, Hee Cang, and others retorted, ”If it weren’t for Xiao Yi, not a single one of us Inner Sect Disciples would have made it back.”

”What right do you have to slander him here?”

”Do you really think your brother Guu Changkong can cover the sky with one hand? If it comes to it, we might as well leave the Sword Sect like Lin Jin and the others did.”

”Insolence!” Guu Changfeng’s face turned cold, and he waved at his lackeys, ”Take them down.”

Swoosh...

At that moment, a figure instantly arrived beside Hua Jian and the others.

”Hee Jian, what did you just say? Lin Jin and the others have left too?”

The figure was none other than Xiao Yi.

”Xiao Yi.” Hua Jian and the others were first startled, then overjoyed.

Guu Changfeng’s lackeys had just been about to attack Hua Jian and the others.

Xiao Yi struck first with a slap.

Under the overwhelming aura, more than ten lackeys were sent flying.

”Xiao Yi, weren’t you dead?” Hua Jian and the others exclaimed in surprise.

”Standing right in front of you alive and well, do you think I’m dead?” Xiao Yi rolled his eyes.

He realized that it seemed his days trapped in the Ten Realms Destruction Formation had led everyone in the Sword Sect to believe he was dead.

”Enough talk for now, tell me, why did Elder Yi and Lin Jin leave?” Xiao Yi demanded to know.

Hua Jian, Hee Cang, and the others hurriedly relayed the events of that day.

As Inner Sect Disciples, they had witnessed Elder Yi and Lin Jin leave with their own eyes.

By the time Hua Jian and Hee Cang had finished speaking, Xiao Yi’s face had turned as cold as Cold Frost.

”Damn it,” Xiao Yi shouted, his aura surged dramatically.

All the disciples around the Martial Arts Arena, including the Deacons, were blown off their feet by this force.

”Xiao Yi.” On the Martial Arts Arena, Guu Changkong finally noticed Xiao Yi.

Until now, Xiao Yi had been obscured by the crowd, unnoticed by him.

Moreover, he had been basking in the adulation and had not paid attention to anything else.

It was only when Xiao Yi’s overwhelming aura enveloped the entire Martial Arts Arena that he came to his senses in shock.

”Guu Changkong, I want you dead.” Xiao Yi gritted his teeth, taking steps towards the Martial Arts Arena.

Within ten meters around him, no one could stand, all were repelled by his aura.

At the same time.

Deep within the Sky-splitting Sword Sect, ten figures swiftly soared out.

”What a powerful aura, it’s Xiao Yi’s presence,” the Great Elder and others flew over instantly.

”Xiao Yi, what are you trying to do, don’t hurt my disciple Changkong,” a Sword Hall Elder attacked with a sword.
