Chapter 1057 - 459: Testing the Immortal Door’s Rank

Cultivators transcend the world’s shackles to become True Immortals.

They no longer rely on the world to supply their energy and can cross the Sea of Realms with their physical bodies.

Thus, their range of activities naturally greatly increases; they are no longer limited to a single world but roam the many worlds, using the Sea of Realms as their blueprint, to seek Immortal Realms suitable for their cultivation.

Of course, they greatly disdain the energy found in the Sea of Realms.

Generally speaking, they do not appear in lower-level worlds and certainly do not freely wander amidst the Sea of Realms without barriers.

Ning Qi and the other two discussed immortals and the Way, gradually unveiling the veil of the immortals and catching a glimpse of their realm.

”The True Immortal Ninth Grade, integrating the Power of Rules into the initial fruit of the Great Dao—what exactly is this fruit of the Dao?”

Ning Qi inquired.

While continuing to peruse the Supreme Celestial Immortal Scripture in his mind, Sea Ancestor explained:

”To attain the Dao and become an Immortal, what we call the Dao is the Tao Fruit. You can understand the initial fruit of the Great Dao as an ultimate form of the Power of Rules, materialized and completely under one’s control.”

”All the worlds we inhabit are transformed by rules, but those rules always pertain to the world’s shape, not beyond it. An immortal is one who cultivates the Power of Rules to the extreme, thus condensing it into the fruit of the Great Dao, thereby transcending the world.”

”Therefore, it is not easy for even one person among billions of cultivators to surpass the Power of Rules.”

Ning Qi and Saint Ancestor listened to Sea Ancestor’s explanation, and the two exchanged a glance.

Saint Ancestor said, ”Why haven’t I seen this fruit of the Dao within the Mountain Ancestor Immortal Body?”

Sea Ancestor smiled and replied, ”If Haoshan had truly cultivated the fruit of the Dao, I’m afraid we wouldn’t have been victorious.”

”What do you mean by that?”

”The fruit of the Dao isn’t something that can be condensed upon immediately becoming an immortal. Newly ordained immortals, at best, have their physical bodies and souls refined through the Immortal Door’s baptism, purging the energy of the Sea of Realms from within, thus forming the perfect foundation of immortal power.”

”Condensing the fruit of the Dao is what a True Immortal must do. The first three grades of the True Immortal Ninth Grade involve condensing the fruit of the Dao, the middle three grades are about consolidating one’s own Dao.”

”And what about the last three grades?” Ning Qi asked further.

”The last three grades involve preparing for the Heavenly Immortal path based on the True Immortal’s cultivation method and personal insights. The details are complex—some True Immortals can condense multiple fruits of the Dao, others focus on specialization, and some even use the fruit of the Dao to create a world of their own.”

Upon hearing this, Ning Qi was momentarily stunned.

He hadn’t expected that towards the latter stages of True Immortal practice, one would acquire such terrifying abilities, creating worlds single-handedly, akin to becoming a creator.

Perhaps seeing Ning Qi’s expression, Sea Ancestor added:

”The worlds they create aren’t the worlds we refer to, containing numerous ordinary cultivators. Their created worlds are spaces nurturing the fruit of the Dao, with many mysteries. Of course, if they reach the level of Heavenly Immortal or even higher Golden Immortal, we can’t predict what their worlds might transform into.”

Ning Qi slightly nodded, understanding the distinction between the two.

Saint Ancestor’s old face showed a hint of longing.

”Just hearing about it fills this old man with longing. No wonder becoming an immortal is the ultimate pursuit of all cultivators throughout history; the more gifted they are, the harder it is to resist the allure of immortality.”

Ning Qi interjected, ”Perhaps it’s not an allure but the pursuit of life’s evolution.”

Saint Ancestor also nodded, his gaze shifting to the Mountain Ancestor Immortal Body inside the Spirit Jade Coffin.

”It’s a pity that some people become immortals by bringing suffering to all beings, which is not the right path.”

The three fell into silence.

Should there be distinctions of good and evil on the path to becoming an immortal?

Or rather, what should a true immortal really be?

The means of the Mountain Ancestor were extremely ruthless, but regardless, he ultimately became immortal, even though he was defeated by Ning Qi.

”At the very least, this reminds us that the Immortal Realm is not inherently a benevolent place, as it also harbors beings like the Mountain Ancestor.”

Ning Qi spoke out.

Upon hearing this, both Saint Ancestor and Sea Ancestor felt like a cold splash of water was poured over them.

Their hearts harbored endless yearning for immortality, a yearning often accompanied by beautiful imaginations.

However, Ning Qi’s words instantly dragged them back to reality.

The Immortal Realm is not so idyllic!

If they rashly become immortals, they might lose control over everything.

It’s not so much about self-control, but that upon leaving their world for the unfamiliar Immortal Realm, they can’t determine whom they will encounter or what environments they will face.

If they encounter opponents like the Mountain Ancestor, it might be worse than death.

Saint Ancestor sighed.

”’I determine my destiny, not heaven,’ it seems these words remain empty. As long as higher worlds and stronger opponents exist, we will always face circumstances beyond our control.”

Ning Qi’s eyes flickered, ”Only when we reach the pinnacle can we be qualified to say this.”

Saint Ancestor and Sea Ancestor looked at Ning Qi, seeing his resolute face, shining with a distinctive glow that was mesmerizing.

Their hearts couldn’t help but stir, humbled a bit.

It’s the youth who dare to think and act; for now, they anticipate their own immortality, and due to the recent conversation, feel apprehensive, but Ning Qi’s will is unwavering, boldly claiming he will scale the ultimate heights.

The two exchanged a glance, seeing the same thoughts reflected in each other’s eyes.

Immortality indeed offers endless benefits, and a fleeting thought occurred in their minds before.

If they became immortals, should they leave Ning Qi’s True Martial Spirit Realm?

Such thoughts come naturally, not from intending to burn bridges, because even Ning Qi, upon becoming an immortal, must ponder how to address matters in the True Martial Spirit Realm.
