Cultivation: From Servant to Revered Immortal

Chapter 653: Chapter 29: Shock: Zhou Xun’s Strength! (Part 2)

”This is the Quicksand Sea’s unique ’Sand Spirit Beast Group’!” True Monarch Thunder Prison’s face darkened and continued:

”Sand Spirit Beasts are fierce demons that live in groups, raising vast sandstorms wherever they go, blocking out the sky and sun; not only do these storms isolate the detection of us cultivators,”

”but the raging wind and sand contain a peculiar effect for both defense and entrapment, which is very troublesome for us.”

”Judging by the scope of this sandstorm, there must be Tier Four ’Sand Spirit Beasts’ within!”

”The sandstorm range is too vast for us to avoid!” True Monarch Profound Time said gravely.

”How about we use the ’Thunderous Void Escape’ to evade this sandstorm and wait until it passes before emerging?” suggested True Monarch Hong Chuan.

”Impossible, this sandstorm stretches far beyond ten thousand feet, who knows how long it will take to pass,”

”and the mana consumption for Thunderous Void Escape is excessive; should we conceal ourselves only for them to remain nearby, while our mana depletes,”

”once fighting breaks out, we’ll be in even greater danger!”

”Now that we have five Thunder Cultivators gathered, let’s battle them; I refuse to believe we can’t beat mere fierce demons!” True Monarch Profound Thunder said murderously.

”Then we shall fight them. The five of us should not stray too far; if matters turn unfavorable, we can still use ’Thunderous Void Escape’—advance for offense, retreat for defense!” Zhou Xun said.

”Agreed!”

The proposal received unanimous agreement,

Next, led by True Monarch Profound Thunder, the Thunder Cultivator at the peak of Middle-Stage Nascent Soul, Zhou Xun and the others positioned themselves behind him, charging at the vast ’Sand Spirit Beast’ group.

True Monarch Profound Thunder charged ahead, transforming into a giant several meters tall, his body crackling with thunder light as if the Thunder God had descended,

This was his famed technique—the Profound Thunder True Body.

He wielded a thunder whip dozens of meters long, each strike imbued with powerful thunder power!

Every swing claimed the life of a Tier Three Sand Spirit Beast.

Zhou Xun closely followed, eyes focused, his spiritual power surging like a torrent within him,

With a wave, bolts of lightning would fall,

each one claiming the life of a Sand Spirit Beast,

True Monarch Thunder Prison and others likewise unleashed their Thunder Dao Divine Techniques, lightning interweaving through the ten-thousand-foot sandstorm, carving out a path hundreds of feet in diameter.

The Sand Spirit Beasts seemed angered by Zhou Xun’s attacks, charging at them in endless waves, one after another.

Zhou Xun and company showed no fear, their movements like lightning, weaving freely among the Sand Spirit Beast group,

with their techniques, the mere Tier Two and Three Sand Spirit Beasts posed no threat, but they remained vigilant,

Divine Sense was limited in the sandstorm; the whereabouts of the Tier Four Sand Spirit Beast was unknown!

Just then,

”Buzz—”

Two beams of yellow light shot from the depths of the sand, each as thick as a meter, swiftly reaching the group,

and then spreading suddenly, forming two thousand-foot yellow auras that enveloped them.

At that moment, they felt a sudden heaviness,

their bodies inexorably falling towards the ground,

the earth below cracking abruptly, like a giant beast opening its maw to swallow them!

”Not good, it’s ’Gravity Profound Light’!” True Monarch Profound Thunder shouted,

pointing at himself, thunder light erupting instantly,

A hundred-foot thunderous phantom appeared below, straddling the ground, lifting Zhou Xun and the others as they fell, one by one.

Meanwhile, two yellow shadows rushed towards them, colliding directly, revealed to be two Tier Four Sand Spirit Beasts!

”It’s the Sand Spirit Beast King!” True Monarch Thunder Prison shouted urgently, then quickly said:

”Daoist Hong, Daoist Profound Time, the three of us will handle the one on the left, Daoist Zhou, Daoist Profound Thunder, the other is yours!”

”Alright, no problem!” everyone responded in agreement,

Zhou Xun flipped his hand, a palm-sized turtle-back shield appearing,

it was the ’Profound Turtle Shield’ he obtained from Sea Suppression Immortal City’s Secret Vault,

infusing it with mana, he hurled it fiercely at the Sand Spirit Beast King on the right,

The Profound Turtle Shield expanded with the wind, transforming into dozens of meters, blocking the Sand Spirit Beast King,

”Boom—”

A thunderous crash, the Profound Turtle Shield cried out, flying back, and the Sand Spirit Beast King retreated hundreds of feet!

”Good!”

True Monarch Profound Thunder praised:

”Daoist Zhou, this beast is actually Tier Four Middle-Grade, I’ll entangle it, you cover the flank and strike when the opportunity arises!”

”Alright!”

Zhou Xun nodded,

Only True Monarch Profound Thunder could be seen clasping hands, pointing downwards, and immediately the hundred-zhang phantom below solidified!

”Pop!”

His left hand shook, and a several-hundred-zhang thunder whip emerged, exploding in the void!

Then, his form flashed, transforming into a silhouette, speeding straight towards the Sand Spirit Beast King and viciously whipping, the power was immense, as if ripples were stirred in the space!

The Sand Spirit Beast King was extremely agile, rolling backward to evade the attack, as its claw lifted,

two hundred-zhang stone peaks condensed out of thin air, pressing on the shoulders of the hundred-zhang Profound Thunder True Body, the enormous gravity caused his legs to sink involuntarily.

At the same time, Zhou Xun flipped his palm, and a javelin about two inches long appeared in his palm, a spell was cast,

The thunder spear rapidly grew and became three feet long, suspended before Zhou Xun.

He reached out to grasp it, and the thunder spear was instantly held in his palm, a sharp sensation immediately transmitted!

Zhou Xun’s eyes focused, solely staring at the Sand Spirit Beast King, awaiting action!

On the other side, True Monarch Profound Thunder was pinned by two stone peaks and couldn’t move, his heart involuntarily shocked, his left hand flung forward,

”Pop!”

The thunder whip exploded, turning into a silhouette going towards the Sand Spirit Beast King!

Sensing the violent power on the thunder whip, the Beast King had no plans to take it head-on, its hind legs sprung, standing the body upright, leaning backward and fleeing,

This exposed the vulnerable abdomen,

Seeing this, Zhou Xun’s eyes hardened, mana surged from his hand, targeting the Sand Spirit Beast King’s abdomen, forcefully casting the spear!

A stream of light flashed,

Jun Mang suddenly disappeared,

The next moment, it appeared out of thin air several zhang before the Sand Spirit Beast King,

The Sand Spirit Beast King paled in shock, controlling its body to spin, wanting to shield with its back armor,

However, it was too late!

”Squish—”

A sound of metal piercing flesh echoed, Jun Mang penetrated from under the Sand Spirit Beast’s chin and exited through its forehead!

Simultaneously, True Monarch Profound Thunder’s whip also reached,

”Pop!”

With this fatal blow, the beast instantly perished!

Meanwhile, True Monarch Thunder Prison and others were exchanging blows with another Sand Spirit Beast King, with Zhou Xun and True Monarch Profound Thunder’s help, quickly slaying it!

Both Sand Spirit Beast Kings were dead, the remaining beast groups quickly split into several batches, scattering and fleeing.

”This battle, all thanks to Daoist Zhou, otherwise we wouldn’t know how long we would’ve been stuck!” True Monarch Thunder Prison said,

”Indeed, Daoist Zhou’s spear earlier was truly stunning, seemingly containing instant teleportation transformation, traversing the void, unpredictably!”

True Monarch Profound Thunder exclaimed repeatedly, he judged that even he would struggle to avoid the spear.

”Daoist overpraises, I merely seized the opportunity for a sneak attack, undeserving of such praise!” Zhou Xun waved hands repeatedly.

But it was evident, Zhou Xun’s position among them instantly rose to second, only behind True Monarch Profound Thunder.

Subsequently, the group began dividing spoils!

Zhou Xun was universally acknowledged as having made the greatest contribution due to that spear, receiving an Inner Core of the Earth Spirit Beast King and a piece of beast hide.

Not a small gain!

Gathering the spoils, the group rested for a while, then continued their journey.

...

Seven days later, deep in Quicksand Sea, before a desolate stone mountain, five spiritual lights descended from the sky.

”Daoist Lin, this is the Thunder Prison entrance you spoke of, I think it’s just an ordinary stone mountain!”

True Monarch Hong Chuan reached out with his divine sense, meticulously scanning several times without discovering anything unusual, unable to help but inquire.

”Indeed it is here, but requires going several thousand zhang underground first!” True Monarch Thunder Prison said, taking out five Earth Escape Talismans,

distributing them to Zhou Xun and a few others.

Zhou Xun received it, activating it and attaching it to his body, descending below.

Moments later, a cavern several dozen zhang in size appeared before the group, this cavern flickered with thunder light, along with streaks of illusory brilliant light,

Witnessing this spectacle, the group couldn’t help but gape.

”This... This is the entrance to Thunder Prison?”

”Indeed, Thunder Prison is named forbidden area, in truth relying on a small world belonging to our Human Realm, within the void tide, every century it connects with our Human Realm,”

”And then, it’s also our entry opportunity!”

”And that ’Thunderous Void Escape’, is our reliance to pass through the world’s barrier into Thunder Prison!”
