The Versatile Master Artist

This is an insurance policy document, according to the content on the file,

this painting was exhibited in a special Rococo court exhibition at the Berlin Art Gallery in 2007, at that time the insurance company’s insured price was one hundred and three thousand euros.

”A portrait of Princess Therese, daughter of Louis XVI, by Madam Lebrun, with signs of restoration. My father came across it at a pawn shop recently, spent about two hundred and seventy thousand euros, not too expensive, but I reckon you might like it.”

Madam Lebrun was a palace painter at the end of the Bourbon Dynasty, a close friend in the boudoir of Queen Mary who met her tragic end.

Her painting skill is not as renowned as those great Rococo painters like Boucher and Walt.

However, she was one of the few famous female artists in European classical history before the modern Impressionist master, Miss Mary.

It holds a special commemorative significance.

”A very valuable gift, thank you.”

Anna nodded slightly in thanks, ”Please convey my regards to Mr. Krueger, if possible, I would like to invite him to my home for Christmas this year...”

A birthday gift worth three hundred thousand euros is considered quite generous in their kind of family.

”Of course, that’s if your father isn’t busy at the time... or not angry with me,” Anna said nonchalantly.

”Uh...”

Ole’s mouth opened slightly.

”It’s not hard to guess, regarding the cover issue of Mr. Hibernian’s video, saying angry is already putting it mildly. You must know, Mr. Krueger isn’t the only one who didn’t attend the birthday party this year.”

Anna seemed rather indifferent.

She smiled and adjusted the small veil on her head with her hand: ”It’s been quite peaceful for me here.”

Thomas’s video was like a boulder crashing into Anna’s life.

Van Doorn’s criticisms on social media and the temporary suspension of the ”Oil Painting” magazine were just minor ripples. The biggest undercurrent was the discontent unseen by ordinary people beneath the lake’s surface,

the dissatisfaction of those Old European Hua clans.

This had little to do with Detective Cat or Van Doorn, but was because of Miss Ilina’s self-introduction—

”Just call me Anna, I’m not a Countess, I’m not one of those British who like to hobnob with royalty, I’m just an ordinary citizen of Austria, if there’s anything special, it’s just that I was born a cripple.”

With Anna’s consent, Thomas even made this particular sentence the cover for Mr. Hibernian’s channel video to attract online traffic.

In fact,

Anna’s comments were quite dangerous.

In societies like North America, Canada, and France where the atmosphere towards monarchy and aristocracy isn’t particularly friendly, it might be okay.

But in the more conservative areas of Europe, public figures from the upper society making such comments about royalty are quite taboo.

Such bans apply abroad as well, which is what they call Cancel Culture.

Besides making racist remarks or animal abuse, attacking monarchy is also a significant taboo.

Unless your program’s audience is exactly this kind of group, criticizing the royalty could easily get you banned.

The most typical example being the BBC’s famous host nicknamed the Gorilla, Clarkson, one of the world’s highest-paid TV hosts, and a godfather of car culture, who stumbled on this issue.

Not long ago, because he criticized Prince Harry and his wife in a newspaper, Amazon officially announced the cancellation of the next season of his new program cooperation.

Amazon is an American company as well.

Considering Anna’s identity, her kind of remarks sounded rather rebellious to to the relatives and old friends of the Ilyena family.

Extremely jarring!

It’s no longer like it was twenty years ago.

From Spain to Holland, even the British Royal Family that’s been as steady as Mount Tai for three hundred years, this generation of royal families of these remaining monarchies have all seemed rather shaky, with public support rates continuously declining.

At this point in time,

Anna making such a distinct opening remark in a YouTube video with over a hundred million views, it’s quite understandable that she angered some people.

”Cousin, such words are indeed hard for people to accept.”

Ole shook his head: ”Especially in such a unique year. I heard your name wasn’t on the list of invited guests to the royal wedding of Britain’s formal royal members. I figure there’s a reason for this.”

He crossed his arms on his knees and said: ”The last time the Ilyena family wasn’t invited was back in 1910 because of the war, this time instead...”

”This time it’s because I spoke the truth that everyone doesn’t want to hear. Everyone prefers to live in the dreams of the past, only I have the courage to wake up alone.”

Anna calmly responded.

The air was silent for a moment, and cousin Ole did not speak again, lowering his head to play with the nails on his palm.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

A seductive actress at the side clapped softly.

Her eyes shone with stars: ”Wow, Anna dear, you’re so cool, have you ever considered entering the movie industry? You could become the next Princess of Monaco.”

The Monaco Princess she referred to was Grace Kelly, the most famous actress of the Hollywood 1950s, Hitchcock’s favored leading lady, known for her elegance and grace, and thus married into the royalty.

Ole’s female companion belonged to that type of naive and self-centered personality, with a bit of silly naiveté, a typical American personality trait.

Just before entering the room, she casually referred to Anna as a betrayer, even carrying some jealousy of a beautiful woman seeing a more beautiful woman.
