Apocalypse: King of Zombies

Behind the battlefield, atop a rugged hill, a host of mutant beast overlords stood tall, watching the chaos unfold below.

”See that? Those zombies are chickening out. They’re done for.”

”Hmph! At least they know when to run.”

”Our divine punishment really is something else. Even the corpse clan can’t stand against it.”

”No kidding…”

”…”

The mutant beast overlords wore savage grins, clearly pleased with themselves.

But just then, a new command came through—an order to pursue and annihilate. The Mountain God in the rear had spoken: press the advantage.

”AWOOOO—!”

The Direwolf King let out a thunderous howl that echoed across the land.

In an instant, the mutant beast horde surged forward with renewed fury. This time, they weren’t holding back—their main force was on the move. These beasts were high-level, brutally strong, and utterly relentless.

Bloodveil’s underlings were immediately pushed to their limits.

On the battlefield, a few zombies had just torn apart a Horned Panther, blood spraying everywhere—when suddenly, parasitic monsters burst out of the gore. They latched onto the zombies’ faces and began burrowing into their mouths with terrifying speed.

Other zombies rushed in to help, but from the thick underbrush, several Carrion Reavers sprang out, dragging them to the ground in a frenzy of claws and teeth.

Even the S-class Zombie King was struggling to break through.

Off in the distance, a hulking figure the size of a small hill came charging through the forest, snapping thick trees like twigs. It was a Titan Bison—its eyes glowing red, its body towering nearly thirty feet tall.

With a single swipe of its massive claw, it smashed the Zombie King into pulp, then scooped up the remains and swallowed them whole.

These Xenobeasts weren’t just strong—they were built like tanks. Most had evolved to feed on carrion, and their bodies were highly resistant to toxins. Zombie infection? They didn’t give a damn.

Even the weaker Xenobeasts that did get infected didn’t last long—they were torn apart before they could do any real damage.

And that’s not even counting the mutated flora. The ground was crawling with zombie-killing plants.

Take the Man-Eater Bloom, for example—whole fields of them. The moment a zombie got too close, the plant would snap it up and secrete a corrosive acid, melting it down in seconds.

”Oh, so that’s how you wanna play it?”

Bloodveil clenched his fanged jaw, seething with rage. His elite zombie troops could barely hold their own against the mutant beast vanguard. But against the high-tier Xenobeasts? They were getting steamrolled.

Necroterra was just too barren. It didn’t have the resources that Xenorift did.

Maybe the Heartland’s zombie horde could go toe-to-toe with Xenorift’s monsters—but not his.

Ethan watched from the sidelines and quipped, ”Your boys are kinda getting wrecked out there.”

”You’ve got a lotta nerve talking shit right now,” Bloodveil snapped, veins bulging. ”Where the hell are your guys, huh?”

”They’re almost here,” Ethan replied casually.

Bloodveil rolled his eyes. He couldn’t take it anymore—watching his troops get slaughtered was driving him nuts. With a flash of movement, he leapt into the fray himself.

The Voidborn Undying descended onto the battlefield, his presence radiating a crushing aura. In his hands, two chains of mutated blood lashed out like living serpents, targeting the Titan Bison first.

The blood chains coiled around the beast’s massive frame, weaving a grotesque net that looked almost like blood-soaked fishnets.

Then—tighten.

BOOM!

The Titan Bison exploded into chunks of meat, gore flying in every direction.

The blood chains whipped sideways, slicing through a swarm of Xenobeasts like a scythe through wheat. Even the Man-Eater Bloom on the ground was shredded into drifting petals.

But there were just too many of them.

No sooner had one Titan Bison fallen than two more emerged from the jungle. The Man-Eater Bloom? Already regrowing, sprouting back up at a speed you could see with the naked eye.

The Xenobeasts surged forward again, wave after wave, filling the battlefield like an endless tide.

Bloodveil’s blood chains kept spinning, dancing through the air like crimson ribbons, cutting down anything in their path.

But then—BOOM—a deep rumble echoed from the jungle depths.

A massive, thick tentacle came crashing through the trees, as wide as a mountain and just as unstoppable. It tore through the forest, pulverizing everything in its path, and barreled straight toward Bloodveil with terrifying force.

”Huh?”

Bloodveil snapped his head around, eyes narrowing as he raised both arms. A shield of mutated blood instantly formed in front of him, thick and pulsing like living armor.

It was the Overmind Queen of the parasitic monsters—she’d finally made her move, launching a psychic interference straight at him.

”Damn it!” Bloodveil growled, his fangs grinding together in frustration.

Back on the ridge, the mutant beast overlords were still watching the battle unfold, completely unfazed.

”The Voidborn Undying actually stepped in himself!”

”So what? Once his little zombie minions are wiped out, he’s next.”

”Yeah, let him kill a few. What difference does it make?”

”I thought the Voidborn Undying was supposed to be some kind of big deal. Looks like he’s just a bunch of hype. The Mountain God was right—he’s nothing to be afraid of.”

”That guy who invaded decades ago, at least he had the brains to avoid the mutant beast horde. These two? They’re even worse.”

”…”

Most of these mutant beast overlords had never left Xenorift. This was their first time seeing the infamous Voidborn Undying in person.

They’d heard the legends—how powerful he was, how terrifying—but now that they were watching him fight, they weren’t impressed.

But then… something shifted.

Their eyes narrowed. A strange sensation prickled at the edge of their awareness. They turned their gazes toward the distant sky.

”Hey… what the hell is that?” The Direwolf King’s vertical pupils shrank to pinpricks.

Beside him, the Titan Bison King squinted, his red eyes gleaming. ”Weird… why does it look like a whole continent is floating toward us?”

”No, you’re wrong,” said a Greenman—an intelligent plant beast formed from a cluster of mutated vines and leaves. ”That’s not a continent. That’s a planet. And it’s about to crash into ours.”

”???”

The other overlords stared, dumbfounded.

They’d never seen the Voidborn Undying before—and they sure as hell had never seen a Dreadnought-class Starcruiser.

As the massive object in the sky drew closer, it blotted out the sun. The entire jungle was cast into shadow, a suffocating darkness spreading across the land. It looked like a floating island stretching for miles—so massive it made the air feel heavy, oppressive.

At the bow of the colossal Dreadnought-class Starcruiser stood a zombie with comically oversized ears. The wind howled around him, making his ears flap wildly. The bone earrings hanging from his lobes clinked together with a metallic ding-ding-ding.

”Boss! We’re here, baby!”

Behind him, more figures emerged—Zombie Kings, each one radiating power. There was the hulking Bulldozer, the long-haired Laura with her ghostly grace, the sprouting green-topped Sprout, and the ever-wobbling Lil’ Shroom, among others.

It was clear now—the Dreadnought-class Starcruiser had arrived, carrying Ethan’s elite zombie crew and an army of over a hundred thousand battle-hardened undead.

”Well, well, well… someone had the balls to mess with our boss?” Bulldozer squinted, his tiny eyes gleaming. ”That’s a death wish.”

”Crush ’em!” Shrimpy snarled, fists clenched.

Mist craned his neck, scanning the battlefield. ”Hey, look—it’s Bloodveil, the Overlord of Eastreach. And his little zombie squad’s still kicking.”

”Don’t care. Crush ’em all!” Shrimpy repeated, louder this time.

”…”

Inside the ship’s command deck, PhD stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his monocle catching a glint of light as he studied the battlefield on the main display.

Around him, elite zombie operators worked the controls with practiced precision.

Among them was Hammerhead, dressed in a pristine white lab coat. After a few moments of rapid input, he turned and gave a crisp report.

”PhD, all systems are ready.”

”Good,” PhD replied calmly. ”Begin.”

At his command, the front of the Dreadnought-class Starcruiser began to shift. A massive circular metal door rotated open, revealing a cavernous black barrel at its core.

Embedded along the inner walls were countless crystal cores, each one pulsing with latent energy.

This was humanity’s ultimate weapon—

The Starbreaker Cannon.

As the system powered up, the entire ship hummed with energy. Every single crystal core lit up at once, flooding the chamber with blinding light.

At the center of the barrel, a massive energy sphere began to form—silent, glowing, and impossibly dense.

A wave of annihilation rippled outward, blanketing the battlefield in a suffocating aura of destruction.

The countdown to hell had begun.
