You call this a projection?

”Nice to meet you, Rin. I am Illya. Illyasviel von Einzbern.

If it’s the name Einzbern, surely you understand, right?”

Einzbern—one of the Three Founding Families who constructed the magical ritual known as the Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City. Of course, Tohsaka Rin’s knowledge of the Einzbern family prior to this was limited to just that.

Just as Tohsaka Tokiomi did not know what kind of person Matou Zouken truly was, information about the Three Founding Families—who were both partners in building the ritual and competitors for the final victory—was naturally kept secret from one another.

But the problem was...

Not much time had passed since Rin first officially met Emiya Shirou, and she still remembered the words he had spoken to her.

At that time, besides telling her that Lancer was actually Kotomine Kirei’s Servant—or rather, a Servant stolen from another Master—and that this wasn’t the first time Kirei had stolen a Servant (the first victim being her father, Tohsaka Tokiomi), Shirou had also told her about his own background.

The Master who represented the Einzbern family in the last Holy Grail War was his adoptive father. The Master representing them in this war was his older sister.

But looking at the other side’s attitude... Illya didn’t seem to view Emiya Shirou as a younger brother at all!?

Rin looked at Shirou.

Shirou looked back at Illya and said, ”Illya, though you might not believe me when I say this, Kiritsugu always cared about you.

Every year, he would specifically set aside time to fly abroad... at first, I didn’t understand what he was busy with.

Later, after I asked Fuji-nee, she told me that Kiritsugu had been looking for someone very important to him all along.”

This was undoubtedly a lie. Had he not obtained his past-life memories, the current Emiya Shirou would have known nothing of this. But the rest of the words were not lies.

”And that person was you—Illya.”

Until his life was completely eroded by the effects of the Black Mud, Emiya Kiritsugu never gave up on traveling to Germany, to the Einzbern territory, to try and take Illya back.

However, for Kiritsugu, who viewed magecraft only as a tool, he was skilled at killing, but breaking through the specialized bounded field the Einzberns placed at their front door was a bridge too far. He was constantly blocked by the family’s magical barriers.

”I see. So that’s how it was.”

Illya nodded. She seemed to believe Shirou’s words for a moment.

But in the next second, while the innocent, radiant smile remained on her face and her expression seemed unchanged, her tone turned visibly colder. ”In that case, shall we begin?

Go, Berserker. You can kill them now.”

”ROOOAAAR—!!”

A thunderous roar followed by the sound of a massive body leaping and crashing. Almost immediately after Illya issued the command, the sound rang out by their ears once again.

In that brief instant, Berserker had already crossed the distance between them, swinging his massive stone axe-sword right in front of them.

’Hey, hey, hey, this isn’t what we agreed on! Why does she seem even angrier after you said that, Emiya-kun?’

Rin desperately wanted to say this. But facing Berserker, who was charging with a speed that completely defied his massive frame, she had no time for words.

If it weren’t for Archer’s quick reflexes—grabbing Rin and retreating in a single leap—and Emiya Shirou’s equally rapid response...

Before Berserker reached them, Shirou had already prepared his projection. He traced a strange Japanese sword and immediately hurled it at Berserker. When Berserker prepared to swat away the blade—which looked pitifully small compared to him—Shirou detonated it without hesitation.

The shockwave from the explosion didn’t just stall Berserker’s momentum; it also pushed Shirou and the others back, using the impact to accelerate their retreat and widen the gap. If not for that, Berserker’s sudden assault would likely have cleaved them in half.

’Fortunately, after seeing my future self as a Counter Guardian, I performed a projection on ’him’ as well.

Whether it’s the Noble Phantasms stored in the [Unlimited Blade Works] of my future self, ’Broken Fantasms,’ or ’Mind’s Eye (True)’...

With an origin and affinity for ’Swords’ and being of the same source, these are much easier for me to project successfully than a Stand.’

It was similar to how, in Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Emiya Shirou could still use Projection Magecraft even after losing the Class Card, because he had ”displaced” Archer’s essence

onto himself. Within the Reality Marble of

What Emiya Shirou was doing now was essentially the same as the Shirou in Prisma Illya. One used Displacement Magecraft, the other used Projection Magecraft. Both were copying future experience onto their current selves in advance.

This was why Shirou could react so quickly to Berserker’s attack and why he could teach himself ”Broken Fantasm” despite Kiritsugu never teaching him much magecraft.

”Did I say something wrong? Why is Illya still so angry?”

Looking around, Rin was safe under Archer’s protection. The others were battle-hardened and had understood Shirou’s intent the moment the Broken Fantasm exploded, successfully putting distance between themselves and Berserker to regroup.

Seeing that everyone was unharmed, Shirou turned back to Illya and asked, ”Illya, what are you trying to do?”

COTE: I’ve become a substitute

Mikage Touji transmigrated in the world of Classroom of the Elite with no explanation and entered the class 1-A, well at least he as a cool power even if a bit weak for now.

Until Ayanokouji Atsuomi asked him: ”Is this you?” referring to a photo of Kyotaka.

”How could I possibly be that gloomy guy in there?!”

”Drop these useless excuses, Kiyotaka. Did you think that by changing your name and getting plastic surgery, you could escape my control?

Your enrollment materials are completely fabricated; not a single person can prove you ever existed. Furthermore, the timing of your appearance completely coincides with the time and place of Ayanokouji Kiyotaka’s disappearance. And you’re still saying you aren’t Ayanokouji Kiyotaka?”

”Pfft...” It turns out that when people are truly speechless, they really do laugh.

”If you’re looking to cause trouble, take a left out the door and find a police station. And another thing...” Mikage Toji helplessly spread his hands. ”The one you are looking for is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. What does that have to do with me, Mikage Toji?”

[Harem - No Ayanokouji - Sakayanagi Arisu in class D.
