Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 567: Chapter 567: Dao Law Locks Celestial Fire, Bhagavat Treads the Dust Again

Drawing on his experience with Hongtian, Lü Yang drew his sword. Bolstered by his Sealed Title Sword Intent, he laughed heartily as a flash of Sword Light slashed directly into the Immortal Dao Law!

RUMBLE!

This sudden turn of events clearly caught the Immortal Dao Law off guard. A moment later, distinct characters materialized within it:

Pseudo-dynasty Usurper Emperor. An illegitimate claim, unfit to serve as the Emperor Pivot!

The moment these words appeared, an upheaval began across all the Five Domains of the World, now covered by the Immortal Dao Law. It was enough to shake the very mountains and rivers, inciting rebellion across the land!

”Hahaha!”

However, seeing this scene, Lü Yang only laughed aloud. His laughter cemented a single fact: the Bhagavat and the Daoist Court Daoist Lord were truly not of one mind!

Yes, the two of them had certainly formed an alliance by now.

But the prejudices in a person’s heart are like great mountains, not so easily moved. Even if the Bhagavat and the Daoist Court Daoist Lord were cooperating, there would still be resentment between them!

After all, the Bhagavat had stolen the Fruit of Rampart Earth, while the Daoist Court Daoist Lord had used Lü Yang’s own hands to annihilate the Monks. Under these circumstances, the Bhagavat would naturally be happy to let the Daoist Court Daoist Lord suffer a small loss, so long as the situation remained under his control. By the same token, the Daoist Court Daoist Lord surely felt the same way.

Previously, this had only been a suspicion on Lü Yang’s part.

Now, he had his answer. ’If the Bhagavat had told the Daoist Court Daoist Lord about the Pseudo-History long ago, the Immortal Dao Law wouldn’t be denouncing me only now!’

Denouncing me now? Too late!

BOOM!

At that moment, although Lü Yang was denounced as a Pseudo-dynasty Usurper Emperor by the Immortal Dao Law, causing his aura to plummet instantly, another radiance flared to life.

It was a pure white radiance, and the moment it appeared, the tranquil scent of Sandalwood Incense filled the air. Vaguely, it felt as though millions were bowing in worship.

The Incense and Candle Divine Dao!

Seven Luminaries Heaven!

The instant the Immortal Dao Law’s power faded, the great web woven by the Incense and Candle Divine Dao perfectly filled the void, once again bolstering Lü Yang’s presence!

This scene once again took the Immortal Dao Law by surprise.

RRRIP!

The next moment, Lü Yang’s Sword Light slashed into that invisible web. The sound of a few threads snapping rang out, triggering a cataclysmic change throughout Heaven and Earth.

In that instant, from the Thirty-six Layers of Gang Cloud above down to the seventy-two Lay Lines below, a boundless radiance erupted from the point where Lü Yang had struck the Immortal Dao Law. It poured out like a bursting dam, cascading down from the heavens like a bleeding wound, its effects instantly rippling across the entire world.

「In Jiangxi.」

A Dao Court Cultivator was flying through the air when the symbol of his Official Position above his head suddenly lost its luster and shattered. He stared dumbfounded as he plummeted from the sky.

Similar incidents were happening one after another.

And all of this was because Lü Yang had severed a few lines within the Immortal Dao Law. It seemed like a minor act, yet it affected tens of thousands of Cultivators!

How much time and energy would it take to repair the damage?

RUMBLE!

At this moment, the Immortal Dao Law seemed to fly into a rage. Text materialized once more, and just as it had with Hongtian, it declared its intent to confiscate all of his Cultivation!

For a moment, Lü Yang froze.

His connection to the Immortal Dao Law ran deep; he had relied on it to rapidly advance the Cultivation of all his Innate Divine Techniques.

Thus, with his Cultivation being confiscated, Lü Yang stood frozen on the spot, seemingly at a loss. His Abilities, once extensions of his own will, began to run rampant... and in that single instant, the previously flawless Lü Yang revealed a minuscule opening.

Almost simultaneously—

SQUELCH!

A resplendent golden palm pierced through Lü Yang’s back and emerged from his chest, its five fingers clamped around a bloody heart.

SPLAT!

Without the slightest pause, the large golden hand crushed Lü Yang’s heart. The attack also triggered his karmic links, intending to use the connection to grievously wound Lü Yang’s Dharma Body.

Only then did Lü Yang turn his head to see the face of his attacker.

”Amitabha.”

The Bhagavat had descended as the True Body Tathagata!

Its essence was similar to the Buddha Son’s Dharma Appearance; though it wasn’t the Bhagavat’s true self, it possessed a greater Spiritual Wisdom. This sudden ambush was proof of that.

The truth was, it didn’t need the complicated, eight-step ritual described in the Pseudo-History—the Bodhi Tree, the woman giving birth, and all the rest—to descend. That had all been a deliberate performance for Lü Yang’s benefit, put on with the full knowledge that he was watching the entire time!

Its true descent took but an instant!

Furthermore, the True Body Tathagata’s timing was perfect. It struck at the exact moment Lü Yang had slashed open the Immortal Dao Law, when his Spiritual Essence had momentarily wavered!

To put it bluntly, it had used the Immortal Dao Law as bait.

Meanwhile, it hid in the shadows, waiting to launch a sneak attack.

It had already entered the battlefield in person, its Mighty Power was at the Golden Core Level, and yet it was resorting to such tactics against a mere Foundation-Stage Cultivator who was only Seeking Gold—

”I’d expect nothing less from you, Senior,” Lü Yang remarked.

The True Body Tathagata: ”...Hmm?”

In that instant, the True Body Tathagata realized something was wrong. It hadn’t given Lü Yang any chance to assume his Fake Golden Position, so why did he seem completely unharmed?

A moment later, it had its answer:

The Fruit of Lamp-Cover Fire!

A cool, clear lamplight spread out, piercing through the fog and instantly dispelling the influence of the Immortal Dao Law. Then, Lü Yang’s hands formed a Finger Technique as he chanted an Incantation:

’Kan and Li True Method of Positional Shift!’

The Daoist Hand Seal changed, the conceptual imagery shifted, and in a flash, he jumped from the Fruit of Lamp-Cover Fire to the Fruit of Celestial Fire. Then, Lü Yang slowly extended his hand.

”Deprive!”

Though the motion seemed slow, it was over in a flash. The True Body Tathagata suddenly felt control over the arm piercing Lü Yang’s chest vanish.

Not only that, but the loss of control was rapidly spreading from the arm to the rest of its body!

Instantly, the True Body Tathagata made a decisive choice. It severed the arm that Lü Yang was seizing with Deprive and rapidly put distance between them.

Meanwhile, Lü Yang integrated the arm he had taken with Deprive into his own Dharma Body. It not only instantly repaired the wound inflicted by the True Body Tathagata’s ambush but even strengthened his Dharma Body. After all, the Golden Body was one of the ultimate techniques of the Monks.

Seeing this, the True Body Tathagata’s brow furrowed slightly.

On the other side, Lü Yang stretched his body freely. His Yama Hall rumbled to life as he assumed a Fake Holding of the Fruit of Celestial Fire, a familiar Mighty Power once again suffusing his being.

It was laughable to think he’d make the mistake of having a trump card he couldn’t use.

He had entered the state of Fake Golden Position back when he began Seeking Gold, using the resulting worldly disturbances to mask the telltale signs.

The True Body Tathagata had wanted to launch a sneak attack on him, but little did it know, he was plotting a sneak attack of his own!

In an instant, flames erupted. By assuming the Fake Golden Position ahead of time, Lü Yang had long been secretly gathering his power. Moreover, the Fruit of Celestial Fire now looked upon him with considerable favor.

As a result, the three rules that normally would have taken time to manifest now appeared all at once:

Those who are Deprived by me shall suffer severe punishment!

All injuries shall be magnified ten thousandfold!

Those who attempt to heal their injuries shall suffer severe punishment!

Three rules, three instances of the Celestial Fire Body Burning Punishment, converged into a single, blazing light as brilliant as the Sun, instantly swallowing the True Body Tathagata!

This was practically the most powerful offensive manifestation of the Fruit of Celestial Fire!

Caught completely off guard, the True Body Tathagata was struck by the blow. The constant smile on its broad, Buddha-like face finally twisted, revealing the wrathful glare of a Vajra.

Seeing this, Lü Yang’s laughter grew even more wild.

”Getting angry?”
