Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 456: Chapter 456: Plotting to Seize [Fruit of Celestial Fire]

His decision to pursue the Fruit of Celestial Fire was no sudden whim on Lü Yang’s part.

In fact, the idea had taken root long ago, back when he had plundered the Dragon Palace and obtained the Third-Grade Foundation Method devised by the Dragon Monarch: the *Celestial Language Shimmering Dragon Chapter*. ℯℯ𝑙.

The *Celestial Language Shimmering Dragon Chapter* was designed for the pursuit of the Fruit of Celestial Fire.

At the time, he suspected the Cultivation Technique might contain a hidden trap left by the Dragon Monarch, so he chose to set it aside. But that didn’t mean he forgot about it.

In his Previous Life, while holding the Fake Golden Position, he had used the Mighty Power of the Fruit of Lamp-Cover Fire to scan it with a single glance. The Fruit of Lamp-Cover Fire could illuminate what even the sun and moon left in darkness, revealing secrets unknown to Heaven and Earth. It held a great advantage in piercing Illusion Barriers, capable of even shattering the Veil of the Trees. A mere Third-Grade Foundation Method was naturally no challenge for it.

Then, Lü Yang was shocked.

’Unbelievably, there was no catch...’

That’s right, no trap! The Cultivation Technique’s only restriction was that one must possess pure Dragon Blood to practice it. Other than that, there were no hidden dangers or flaws whatsoever!

’The Dragon Monarch... what a surprisingly honest dragon,’ Lü Yang couldn’t help but muse.

No wonder the True Dragon Race was driven Overseas!

In a broken place like this, if you aren’t ruthless, you won’t last!

’But then again, it makes sense. The Dragon Monarch is already a Perfected Lord, so it’s impossible for him to switch to a different Fruit. The entire purpose of this Cultivation Technique is to produce *another* Perfected Lord.’

’So why bother leaving a trap?’

’Even if he had left a trap, what kind of trap couldn’t be overcome by someone who successfully attained the Fruit of Celestial Fire? With the power of an Emperor Fruit and the Position of a Perfected Lord, any scheme would be meaningless.’

’It would be pointless and only create an enemy.’

’For the Dragon Monarch, the only thing that mattered was ensuring that whoever cultivated this Third-Grade Foundation Method was a True Dragon who would stand with the True Dragon Race. As long as that was guaranteed, there was no issue.’

’I can be a True Dragon. I can contribute to the Dragon Race, too!’

Lü Yang’s eyes shone with a bright light.

More importantly, back in the Dragon Palace Treasure Vault, the Dragon Monarch had even prepared the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches required to cultivate the Fruit of Celestial Fire!

He wouldn’t have to search for them himself!

’The only problem is that I obtained the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches too easily. I don’t have sufficient Cultivation. Refining them in an instant will be impossible.’

At this thought, Lü Yang reviewed the four Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches corresponding to the Fruit of Celestial Fire: Earth of Wu, Wu Fire, Earth of Ji, and Earth of Wei. Of these, he was only confident he had sufficient Cultivation for Earth of Wu, as this Heavenly Stem was similar to the Fruit of Rampart Earth, which he had cultivated before.

As for the other three, he knew nothing.

Furthermore, the *Celestial Language Shimmering Dragon Chapter* also described the Ritual required to draw the attention of the Fruit of Celestial Fire.

The Ritual itself was actually quite simple.

’The Fruit of Celestial Fire warms mountains and rivers, its radiance illuminating the cosmos. Thus, to draw its attention, the only method is Ruling the World!’

Reading this, Lü Yang finally understood why no one had ever attained the Fruit of Celestial Fire.

It certainly wasn’t for a lack of trying.

It was because this ”world” referred to the East, the West, the South, the North, Overseas... a world that encompassed every single region!

Who the hell could possibly achieve that?

Of course, there were clever workarounds.

By relying on the Dao Court’s system, one could probably draw the attention of the Fruit of Celestial Fire by ruling over the East alone, though the response wouldn’t be as strong.

While one could still attempt Seeking Gold, the odds of success would be reduced by at least thirty percent.

’No wonder the Dragon Monarch only considered this a backup plan, leaving it untouched in the Dragon Palace Treasure Vault... He probably wasn’t very confident in it himself.’

The same went for the Dao Court.

The Fruit of Celestial Fire was undoubtedly a good match for the Dao Court’s system, yet no one from the Court had ever attempted to attain it. They must have taken the difficulty into account.

’By contrast, the Fruit of Rampart Earth doesn’t require Ruling the World. Its symbolism is more aligned with the hearts of the people, with rites and social order—in a way, it’s even people-centric... And in this world, there is no shortage of people. A pity that during the great upheaval, the Fruit of Rampart Earth was seized by the Pure Land...’

It was strange, though.

As one of the Emperor Fruits, how did the Dao Court even let the Pure Land take the Fruit of Rampart Earth? Was the Dao Court’s Master of Dao unable to defeat the Pure Land World Honored One?

Or did the two sides make some kind of deal?

’Ah, I’m overthinking things again. That’s not good, not good at all...’

Lü Yang sighed. He quickly grabbed the drowsy, not-yet-conscious Yu Suzhen beside him and engaged in a few more rounds of ”deep exchange” to relieve his tension.

This time, Lü Yang didn’t kill Yu Suzhen. Instead, he used the Puppet technique to place her under hypnosis.

This would allow him to control Yu Suzhen’s progress, using her as a tool to travel Overseas at the opportune moment and reawaken No Heaven.

At this thought, a plan began to form in Lü Yang’s mind.

’Ruling the World... It might not be impossible! If all the Perfected Lords have gone into seclusion, wouldn’t it be easy for a Fake Holding an Outer Dao like me to rule the world?’

Of course, ”ruling” was more than simply becoming the strongest person in the world. It meant establishing a power structure, reigning from its apex, and governing the four corners of the world with absolute authority. Only by doing so could one hope to gain the recognition of the Fruit of Celestial Fire. The difficulty was simply absurd.

’No wonder the Dao Court is the place to start.’

After all, looking across the land, the organizational structures of the Stain Sect and the Sword Pavilion were relatively loose, typical of standard Sects. The Pure Land, with its perfect Unity, was out of the question.

Only the Dao Court was structured like a nation.

Therefore, to meet the conditions for the Fruit of Celestial Fire, the operational logic of the Dao Court’s system was, without a doubt, the most suitable and efficient.

’In this life, I’ll make that my goal.’

Lü Yang took a deep breath. It is said that by using others as a mirror, one can understand one’s own gains and losses. In the matter of cultivation, he had always had a perfect role model to learn from.

Ang Xiao!

This Great Perfected Lord of the Late Stage of Golden Core had chosen to achieve Attainment with the Fruit of Great-Forest Wood, and had then turned to pursue the Netherworld. Whether that path was correct was a matter for another time.

At the very least, Ang Xiao’s current achievements were undeniable. Especially when it was unknown how the Bhagavat had reached the Nascent Soul stage, Ang Xiao’s path was the most reliable one to follow. Following in his footsteps would surely help him avoid many pitfalls.

’The Void Attainment Position must be left for last.’

’Seven Luminaries Heaven is just a stepping stone. The Fruit of Sword Dao is where my future hope lies, but in the meantime, an Emperor Fruit must be my foundation!’

First, I’ll attain the Fruit of Celestial Fire.

Then, I’ll slowly find a way to nurture the Sword Dao. If I can cultivate the Sword Dao to the same level as the Netherworld, then I too will have a chance at reaching the Nascent Soul stage!

This was Ang Xiao’s path.

And the advantage he had over Ang Xiao was that his Sword Dao had been cleansed by the Centome; it wasn’t out in the open for all to see like the Netherworld.

’Of course, this time around, I can’t call it the Sword Dao anymore. I’d better use Seven Luminaries Heaven to obscure it. What Sword Dao? That’s my Unyielding Fruit Position, obtained via a Void Certificate. It just happens to look a little like the Sword Dao... With the Myriad-Soul Banner to conceal it further, I doubt anyone will be able to see through me!’

Lü Yang was a man of action. No sooner had he thought of it than he began.

’First step: go to the Dao Court!’

The next second, Lü Yang’s figure began to turn transparent. A golden light emerged, making him increasingly ethereal, as if he were becoming an invisible shadow.

Golden Talent: Reincarnated Spirit Child!

[Reincarnated Spirit Child: You can transform yourself into a ’Primordial Spirit,’ allowing you to inhabit another’s body without being detected and use their physical form to hide yourself.]

A flash of golden light.

Transformed into a Primordial Spirit, Lü Yang slipped directly into Yu Suzhen’s body. The still-unconscious woman convulsed for a moment, then let out a long, deep breath.
