That Day When Suzuki-kun Wasn't the Mob-B!

Hong Kong.

”Ah, it’s been quite a while since we’ve spent time in the human world.”

Akeno stretched her arms high above her head, bathing in the warm sunlight pouring onto the terrace. Even though she had been reincarnated as a Devil—a race historically weak against holy elements and natural sunlight—her half-human, half-Fallen Angel lineage allowed her to withstand it. Having lived as a human in her early childhood, she still genuinely missed the feeling of the sun.

Besides, the Underworld had evolved significantly. The Devils eventually constructed an artificial sun to help the newly reincarnated humans and other supernatural species adjust to their new lives in the eternal twilight. Many supernatural beings preferred having a proper day-and-night cycle.

”What about you, Finn-sama? Are you alright out here?”

Akeno looked at Finn with genuine worry. She knew he was a pure-blooded Devil from a high-ranking noble family, making it natural for him to be highly sensitive to direct sunlight.

”I’m perfectly fine,” Finn replied calmly, looking up at the bright sky.

He didn’t feel any burning sensation or weakness. Nothing had really changed for him. If anything, he sometimes wondered if the lack of sunlight in the Underworld was worse for his health. He might be a Devil, but that didn’t make him entirely immune to mortal sickness or biological ailments.

However, as the heir to the Balam Family, his physical constitution and immune system were vastly superior to almost anyone else’s.

Why? Because of his family’s innate trait.

Every high-ranking Devil Pillar possessed a unique, defining ability. The Sitri family had absolute mastery over Water Magic. The Bael family possessed the terrifying, all-consuming Power of Destruction. Those unique, world-altering powers were exactly why they held noble status.

As for the Balam Family?

Their innate abilities were remarkably simple: absolute superhuman strength and supreme magic resistance.

That was it. There were no flashy elemental blasts, no reality-warping spells, and nothing overly complex. Because of this, his method of training to grow stronger was incredibly straightforward—brutal, relentless physical conditioning.

Some traditionalists in the Underworld might argue that a noble Devil must focus on mastering complex Demonic Magic. But Finn knew his limits. His innate Demonic Power reserves were just ’above average’ for a High-Class Devil. It was completely meaningless for him to dedicate his life to learning magic when he knew it was biologically impossible for him to ever reach the unfathomable heights of the Four Great Satans. Monsters like Ajuka Beelzebub, Serafall Leviathan, Falbium Asmodeus, and Sirzechs Lucifer weren’t just skilled; their raw Demonic Power was so immense they could rival literal gods.

Like the other Suzukis across the multiverse, his raw magical talent was merely above average. Fortunately, he didn’t need Satan-class magic to reach the apex. His innate trait gave him the perfect foundation for physical supremacy.

How would he grow stronger? Through sheer, unbreakable physical might—exactly like Sairaorg Bael. Sairaorg had become one of the strongest beings in the Underworld through pure willpower and martial arts, despite being born with almost zero Demonic Power. If Finn applied that same extreme physical training regimen, combined with his high-tier magic resistance and above-average Demonic Power for reinforcement, his strength would undoubtedly surpass Sairaorg’s.

This absolute reliance on physical power was also exactly why he had chosen to base his corporate operations in China and Southeast Asia. The influence of the Christian Church and its magic-wielding exorcists was incredibly low here, giving him the freedom to operate without constant magical interference.

She really has grown up, Finn thought, momentarily distracted.

While Akeno enjoyed the breeze on the terrace of their luxurious Victoria Park mansion overlooking the coast, Finn couldn’t help but admire her. She had blossomed into a breathtakingly fine woman. Her curves were outrageous, her hips thick and perfectly proportioned, and her beautiful, oriental features made his blood run hot. Looking at her sleek, black ponytail, his mind involuntarily drifted to highly inappropriate thoughts of exactly how he could hold it while he rode her... if they finally crossed that line.

No, no, no!

How had he become such a massive degenerate?!

This is absolutely the influence of the other Suzukis! he reasoned desperately. Yeah, definitely their fault!

(”.....” All the other Suzukis across the multiverse collectively rolled their eyes in denial.)

If anyone else knew what Finn was thinking, they would have rolled their eyes, too. Why was he acting so flustered? He was a literal Devil! Wasn’t he supposed to embody all the sinful, lecherous acts written in the religious myths?

Yet Finn would scoff at that stereotype. Not all devils were inherently evil or depraved. In fact, throughout his business dealings, he had met plenty of human corporate executives who were vastly more sinister and greedy than any Devil in the Underworld.

Still, forcefully clearing his throat, he looked away and asked, ”Do you ever miss going back to Japan, Akeno?”

”No, I’m perfectly fine. As long as I’m with you, Finn-sama, I am home,” Akeno smiled softly.

It was the absolute truth. Her home was wherever Finn was. As long as he was by her side, everything was perfect. However, as she grew older, her feelings for her master had begun to warp into a deep, consuming desire.

Unlike Rias Gremory, whom Akeno essentially would have had to coddle like a naive child in the original timeline, Finn was overwhelmingly capable. To Akeno, he perfectly embodied the archetype of the domineering CEO or the cold, calculating Duke from the guilty-pleasure romance novels she secretly read. She desperately wanted to be the one to melt his stoic heart—or simply pull his pants down.

She understood why he had held back all these years; they had been too young. But now, they had both grown into fine adults. They were legally of age. And lately, whenever she caught a glimpse of the rugged, impossibly dense musculature he hid beneath his tailored business suits, her imagination ran wild.

A deep, hidden part of her intensely masochistic nature wished he would just push her down, treat her like a toy, and completely conquer her.

Squeeze.

Akeno stared at him, her violet eyes moist and entirely clouded with blatant temptation. She subtly squeezed her thighs together, acutely aware of the slick, warm dampness building beneath her skirt.

”.....”

Finn took a sharp, deep breath, deploying every ounce of his mental restraint to maintain his composure. He knew perfectly well that with his monstrous physical strength, he might literally break her if he lost control and went all out. But he also knew she would probably love every second of it.

What a ridiculously perverted world, he sighed inwardly.

It felt like the entire universe of High School DxD revolved around nothing but mating instincts and combat. He didn’t entirely hate it, especially now that it was finally legal for him to act on it, but he had priorities.

There was a very specific reason he had brought them back to the human world today. He needed to acquire a specific Sacred Gear.

”Shall we head out?” Finn asked smoothly, extending his arm. ”We’ve been cooped up here for a while. Let’s go get something to eat and do a little shopping.”

”Gladly~!”

Akeno instantly linked her arm through his, pressing the heavy, soft weight of her breasts firmly against his bicep as she happily chattered about the boutiques they should visit.

However, the moment Finn Balam stepped back into the human world’s active society, unwanted attention quickly honed in on him. He still had a massive, active bounty on his head from the Himejima Clan incident.

Several blocks away, hidden in the shadows of a rooftop overlooking the shopping district, a group of armed figures watched Finn and Akeno through enchanted binoculars.

”Are you absolutely sure about this?” one of the younger members asked nervously.

”Did you not look at the payout for this bounty?!” the leader hissed back.

”He’s just a single Devil, and he’s barely an adult! What exactly are you afraid of?” a third mocked.

”But he’s a pure-blooded noble heir!”

”So what? A Devil is nothing but a Devil. We carry the bloodline of legendary Heroes! It is our divine duty to strike down evil wherever it walks!”

Their rogue organization had only just formed. Naturally, they desperately needed funding, but they also possessed a fanatical, self-righteous drive to eradicate Devils, believing themselves to be the righteous descendants of ancient heroes.

However, consumed by their own greed and fanaticism, the ’heroes’ failed to notice the silent, terrifying presence standing directly in the shadows behind them.

They were so intensely focused on their prey that they perfectly embodied the old proverb: The mantis stalks the cicada, utterly unaware of the oriole waiting right behind it.

Yeah, I know. It might be sudden, but welcome to the world of DxD!
