Rebirth: My CEO Husband's Thoughts Are Too Shameless

Hannah had no idea how she managed to compose herself long enough to step out of the bedroom.

She had planned to sneak out quietly before Mark noticed.

Unfortunately...

”Miss Hannah, you’re awake.”

Mark looked up from the kitchen with his usual calm expression, as though nothing unusual had happened.

”Come. Let’s have breakfast.”

He had already showered and changed into a fresh set of clothes. His sleeves were rolled up as he stood by the stove, finishing breakfast.

Since he lived alone, he usually cooked for himself instead of eating out. This morning, however, he had prepared something light, knowing Hannah had drunk far too much the previous night.

Hannah stood rooted to the spot.

”...O-Okay.”

She watched silently as Mark walked over carrying a steaming bowl.

He gently placed it in front of her.

”It’s hangover soup,” he said. ”Drink it while it’s warm.”

Only then did Hannah pull out a chair and sit down.

The dining room fell into an awkward silence.

She kept stealing glances at Mark, only to quickly look away whenever he happened to move.

Her embarrassment grew with every passing second.

After everything that had happened the previous night, she had expected him to be awkward too.

Instead...

He acted as naturally as ever.

As though nothing had changed.

Hannah... stop overthinking.

Look at him.

He’s completely normal.

Maybe last night didn’t mean anything to him...

The thought made her heart sink ever so slightly.

Ever since Eric’s betrayal, Hannah had begun doubting herself without realizing it.

She questioned everything.

Her appearance.

Her personality.

Even her worth.

Maybe... I’m the problem.

If I had been better... prettier... more understanding...

Maybe Eric wouldn’t have cheated on me.

Her fingers tightened around the spoon.

The familiar pain threatened to resurface.

Just then, Eric’s face flashed through her mind.

She immediately shook her head.

No.

I’m done thinking about him.

Taking a deep breath, she looked up.

Mark had just taken the seat opposite her.

He smiled gently.

”Drink it before it gets cold.”

His voice was calm and reassuring.

”I made it according to your taste. It should help with the headache.”

Hannah blinked.

”...According to my taste?”

”You don’t like food that’s too salty in the morning.”

She stared at him.

Here’s the revised version with more natural English, smoother emotional flow, and subtle romantic tension.

”...How do you know?” Hannah asked softly.

She looked up at him, genuine curiosity filling her eyes.

”I don’t remember ever telling you that.”

She was certain of it. Only her family and Eric knew that she disliked salty food first thing in the morning.

So how did Mark know?

Across the table, Mark’s hand paused for the briefest moment. He hadn’t expected that question.

For a split second, he realized he had let his guard down.

I got careless.

He had spent years making sure no one noticed the feelings he quietly buried in his heart.

Especially Hannah.

The last thing he wanted was for her to become suspicious.

Taking a calm breath, he forced a small smile.

”...Boss mentioned it once.”

The lie came out smoothly.

”I happened to remember.”

He lowered his gaze to his bowl, avoiding her eyes.

Across from him, Hannah fell silent.

”Oh...”

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

But it didn’t reach her eyes.

For reasons she couldn’t understand, disappointment quietly settled in her heart.

She had no idea why.

It wasn’t as though she wanted Mark to remember the little things about her.

Or... Did she?

She immediately pushed the thought away.

Stop it, Hannah.

You’re overthinking again.

She had been pampered by her family ever since she was little.

Her parents remembered every preference she had. Dominic was no different. Even Eric had known those little habits. There was nothing special about Mark knowing because Dominic had told him.

Absolutely nothing. Yet... the tiny ache in her chest refused to disappear.

Feeling frustrated with herself, Hannah lowered her head and quietly picked up her spoon.

The warm soup slid down her throat, soothing the lingering discomfort from the alcohol.

”It tastes good,” she murmured.

”I’m glad.”

Mark answered with his usual gentle smile.

Neither of them spoke again.

The only sounds filling the apartment were the occasional clink of spoons against porcelain and the quiet hum of the morning outside.

To anyone passing by, it would have looked like an ordinary breakfast.

Simple. Peaceful. Yet both of them were painfully aware that something had changed between them.

Neither dared to acknowledge it.

Hannah wasn’t ready to understand the strange flutter in her heart. And Mark... had already decided to keep his feelings hidden for as long as he could.

For now, silence was safer than the truth.

The bakery was unusually lively for a newly opened business.

By lunchtime, the morning rush had finally settled down, giving everyone a chance to catch their breath.

The aroma of freshly baked bread still lingered in the air as the staff gathered around one of the empty tables, each carrying a plate of food they had hurriedly prepared before the next wave of customers arrived.

Gen stretched her arms with a satisfied sigh.

”I can’t feel my legs anymore.”

Lily laughed as she took a bite of her sandwich.

”Stop complaining. You were smiling every time another customer walked in.”

”Of course I was!” Gen grinned. ”Busy customers mean busy wallets.”

The table erupted into laughter. Silvia poured everyone a glass of juice before taking her own seat.

”I honestly didn’t expect us to be this busy.”

”Neither did I,” one of the bakers admitted. ”Usually new shops struggle for weeks before people start noticing them. Yet we’ve been packed since opening day. And today... was even busier than yesterday.”

Everyone nodded in agreement. Business had been running far better than any of them had dared to imagine. The customers weren’t just buying pastries—they were coming back with friends and family.

That alone was enough to make everyone optimistic about the bakery’s future.

Gen suddenly waved her phone excitedly.

”I know why!”

Everyone looked at her.

”What?”

She placed her phone on the table. ”Someone’s been promoting our bakery online.”

”...”
