Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure

Seeing the way that I looked at him, the Merman King said, ”This kind of thing isn’t that easy to maintain since it’s more complicated. At the same time, I can’t create as many of these as I can with the streams of water.”

I didn’t say anything at first, but then I slowly nodded in agreement as I understood what he meant by this.

It took mana to create these balls of sacred water, it took mana to create the streams of water as well.

The streams of water should be easier to create since they were simple streams of water, but the balls required more mana and more concentration. So it only made sense that the balls of water would be harder to create compared to the streams of water.

But at least this meant that they would be able to take care of the corrupted sea creatures on their own.

It wouldn’t be as effective as if I was there to help, but that meant that they weren’t reliant on me to take them down.

A part of me couldn’t help giving a bitter laugh when I saw the bubble of water.

In the first place, they were the ones that had dealt with the corruption in the first place way back when it first appeared.

I was thinking too much when I thought that they would need me to solve this matter.

They were more than capable of taking care of this corruption all on their own.

I was wrong in thinking that I was some kind of hero that would save them all.

So I was a bit embarrassed because of it.

After this small talk, we arrived back at the capital of the Merman Empire.

It was just that the Merman King didn’t have any time for me.

The moment that we came back, they immediately headed off and left me all on my own. It was clear that they had many different things to do now that this corruption had appeared. There was no doubt that they would have to come up with plans to deal with this corruption and the Merman King who was the head of state would be in charge of these decisions.

It was only natural that he would be busy making these decisions.

At the same time, the former crown prince and the sea witches were brought away.

I didn’t need to think about it to guess that they had been taken away to handle researching the samples of the corrupted sea creatures that had been brought back.

Or rather, it was better to say that Puffer and Zyra would be in charge of this.

What I cared more about was whether this meant that I was done with the quest that Aquaron gave me.

But there was no mention of this.

It was most likely that everyone was busy with the matters related to the corruption, but I had hoped that the priests would have come looking for me or something.

Only they didn’t come looking for me at all.

It was only during dinner that I met everyone again.

When they came back, they all looked exhausted and would rather be resting. But the fact that they came back to have dinner with me meant one thing.

They had something that they wanted to discuss with me.

Only it was something that I didn’t expect.

”We’ll be cooperating with the Tide Empire again.” The Merman King said to me as soon as we sat down.

I was surprised since after what happened last time, the relationship between the Merman Empire and the Tide Empire had been a bit strained. There were still cooperations, but most of them had stagnated because of the stance of the Merman Empire.

It was also because they had been opening up trade with our Kite Kingdom that this wasn’t necessary.

They got the things that they would have gotten from the Tide Empire from our Kite Kingdom instead.

So for the Merman King to suddenly say this, one might think that he wanted to stop cooperating with our Kite Kingdom. But I could tell that this wasn’t the case or he wouldn’t have said it like this.

It was clear that there were other intentions.

So I said with a nod, ”Alright, but can you tell me the reason?”

”We’ll be forming an alliance with the humans during this time to deal with the demons.” The Merman King said in a simple voice.

I was surprised to hear him say this since this was something that I had wanted to discuss as well. I just didn’t expect him to bring this up before I could bring it up.

Only I understood why he brought the Tide Empire into this.

The Tide Empire was actually the perfect way to initiate this matter.

After all, the Tide Empire was one of the four empires of the human race and the influence that they had was not something that could be ignored. At the same time, there was the existing relationship between the Tide Empire and the Merman Empire.

If they were to use this relationship, it would be the best way for them to enter the war with

the demons.

It would be the most natural way for them to work with the humans.

So it was a pretty good idea.

After a moment of silence, I said with a nod, ”It is the best way to do this.”

The Merman King gave a nod as well before saying, ”We’ll have to reduce some of the trade with your Kite Kingdom, but I hope that we will be able to keep up the lube deal. That deal is still very important to us.”

This time, I broke the tense atmosphere and said with a wave of my hand, ”There’s no need to worry about that. We won’t stop the deal just because of this.”

The Merman King said with another nod, ”That’s good.”

It seemed that he really was relieved about this.

It was just that this wasn’t the only surprise that he had for me.
