Looking Forward to Another World

Filled with all kinds of ridiculous moments, the karaoke night finally came to an end along with the night itself, much to the relief of Riezel and the others, who had felt as though every passing second lasted an eternity.

And so, the next day, after spending the night making do at a guesthouse, Riezel and the others began making their way toward Tokyo Jujutsu High under Satoru’s guidance.

Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, also known as Tokyo Jujutsu High, was one of only two jujutsu educational institutions in the country. Of the country’s two jujutsu educational institutions, one was located in Tokyo and the other in Kyoto.

To the outside world, both presented themselves as private religious schools. Both schools followed a four-year system, and there was only one admission requirement: applicants had to be members of the new generation capable of becoming jujutsu sorcerers.

It was worth mentioning that although both jujutsu educational institutions were known as jujutsu high schools, many jujutsu sorcerers continued to practice jujutsu at their respective schools even after graduation, treating them as their home bases.

Satoru was one such example.

He used Tokyo Jujutsu High as his base of operations, serving not only as a first-year homeroom teacher but also as one of the school’s affiliated jujutsu sorcerers.

Jujutsu high schools were not merely educational institutions but were also responsible for coordinating and supporting the missions of the jujutsu world.

As a result, the schools served as both educational facilities and important strongholds of the jujutsu world.

Furthermore, after enrollment, everyone basically started from the first year regardless of who they were. Age did not seem to be a factor in determining which year a student belonged to, as evidenced by the fact that Yuji and Megumi were fifteen-year-old boys, while Nobara was one year older at sixteen, yet all three were first-year students.

Therefore, when the seventeen-year-old Riezel arrived at the school, he would also begin as a first-year student.

Of course, he did not really mind.

’Besides, there’s no way I’m staying here for the full four years.’

Yes, this dimensional travel seemed to have given him an unusually generous amount of time, but he still had only 300 days, roughly ten months, which was less than a year. By the time those 300 days were over, it was still unknown whether he would have advanced to second grade, let alone remained here for four full years.

All he wanted was a place where he could learn the so-called jujutsu and come into contact with the jujutsu world.

Tokyo Jujutsu High seemed like a good choice, which was why he had come here. It was not populated solely by students but also by numerous jujutsu sorcerers, with Satoru being the most prominent among them.

Riezel could simply use this place as his base of operations and save himself the trouble of searching for cursed spirits on his own, thereby avoiding wasting time.

’With 300 days, whether it’s learning jujutsu or hunting cursed spirits, that should be more than enough, but I’ll leave all that aside for now. At the very least, in this world, I’ll try to see if I can reach Level 9.’

For now, that was the small goal Riezel had set for himself, and for that purpose, he had also updated his status the previous night.

After spending more than a month on the Akasha Continent, Riezel had participated in quite a few battles, both large and small. However, they had ultimately been one-sided battles in which he completely overwhelmed his opponents.

Even with Fool’s Obsession and Total Concentration Constant from Breathing Style enhancing his growth speed and efficiency, once he had reached his current level, the growth of his basic abilities could no longer be as rapid as it had been before.

Even so, he had still managed to raise MAG to SS-rank and DEX and AGI to S-rank. Even his weakest stats, STR and END, had been raised to S-rank. He was already not far from the highest possible limit of having all his basic abilities reach SSS-rank.

As long as he raised all of his basic abilities to their limits, Riezel would be able to level up directly and become Level 9.

After all, during his battle against the One-Eyed Black Dragon, the high-rank excelia required for a level-up had already been accumulated, so he could level up at any time.

With 300 days, roughly ten months, he should be able to max out all of his basic abilities no matter how one looked at it. Once that happened, he would be able to level up to Level 9 without any problems, which was why reaching Level 9 was merely a small goal for him at his current stage.

Since the most difficult hurdle had already been overcome, all that remained was a small amount of accumulation before he could naturally step into the next stage: Level 9.

In the world of DanMachi, that was the highest level currently known among all adventurers.

Even among the Zeus Familia and Hera Familia of the thousand-year-old familias, only the latter had ever produced a being who reached that level. Meanwhile, despite being known as the strongest familia under Zeus, the Zeus Familia did not even have a single person who had reached Level 9.

’If I can reach Level 9, Loki will probably be so happy that she’ll get drunk for three days and three nights, right?’

Frankly, even if Riezel failed to reach Level 9, that useless goddess would still find an excuse to get completely drunk every day anyway.

Getting back to the matter at hand, Riezel had yet to learn what the situation was like at Kyoto Jujutsu High, but Tokyo Jujutsu High had been established deep within a mountain on the outskirts of the city.

Few people came here, and aside from jujutsu sorcerers affiliated with Tokyo Jujutsu High, ordinary people probably had little reason to come to a place like this.

Besides, the school itself also had a rather traditional appearance. Its style was somewhat similar to the Yuukaku Riezel had seen in the Entertainment District in the world of DanMachi, except that it lacked the frivolous and ambiguous atmosphere of the Yuukaku and instead resembled that of a Japanese shrine or temple.

”I’ve never understood why one of the only two jujutsu high schools would be built in the middle of nowhere like this.”

Nobara had been complaining nonstop.

”Doesn’t this just make me feel like I’ve gone back to the countryside again? I wanna live in a big city!”

Everyone had already gotten used to Nobara’s complaints, so no one paid any attention to her.

”Teacher!” Yuji impatiently raised his hand and said loudly. ”We’re back at school! Can I start learning how to use cursed energy and jujutsu now?”

”Easy, easy.” Satoru spread his hands and said in his usual carefree manner. ”I gotta take Riezel to meet the principal first. You go back to the dorm with Megumi.”

”Eh...” Yuji’s eyes twitched. ”You mean the doll principal?”

”Yep.” Satoru nodded cheerfully. ”Wanna come with us? Yu~ji~?”

Faced with his enthusiastic invitation, Yuji immediately shook his head.

”I don’t wanna get beaten up by those dolls again. I’ll just go back to the dorm with Fushiguro!” Yuji grabbed Megumi by the shoulder. ”C’mon, Fushiguro.”

”Got it. Stop pulling me.” Megumi sighed, then glanced at Riezel, who had been silently looking around at the school buildings, before turning to Satoru. ”We’ll head back to the dorm first, teacher.”

”Go on, go on.” Satoru waved his hand. ”Oh, right. Your seniors will be coming back soon. Yuji and Nobara haven’t met them yet, have they? Megumi, if you’ve got time, take them over and introduce them.”

”They’re coming back?” Megumi immediately raised an eyebrow. ”Senior Okkotsu is coming back too?”

”Nope, Yuta won’t be coming back.” Satoru crossed his arms into an X to show that the answer was wrong, making a ’doo doo’ sound as he did so. ”Yuta’s overseas. It’ll probably be quite a while before he comes back.”

”I see...” Megumi looked a little disappointed. ”All right, then. When we meet the upperclassmen, I’ll take these two guys over to say hi.”

”What’s that supposed to mean? Paying respects to the boss?” Nobara deliberately picked a fight. ”Because we’re new students, we gotta properly kneel down when we meet our seniors so they don’t give us trouble? Is that what you’re saying?”

”Eh? Is that how it works?” Yuji asked in surprise. ”We gotta fight our upperclassmen when we meet them?”

”Ooh, wanna fight?” Satoru suddenly became interested. ”Well, that could be fun, too. I can be the referee.”

”Stop making things worse!” Megumi said helplessly. ”There’s no fighting... There shouldn’t be, right?”

By the end, even Megumi himself sounded uncertain.

”Whatever. Just follow me and stop making random guesses.”

With that, Megumi grabbed Yuji with one hand and Nobara with the other, dragging both of them away amid their loud protests.

”Tch...”

Satoru clicked his tongue, seemingly disappointed that he could not stir up a fight between students from different years.

”C’mon, let’s go meet the principal.”

After calling out to Riezel, Satoru headed directly into the school building.

Watching the back of this irresponsible teacher, Riezel shrugged and followed him into the school building as well.

By this point, he had already placed Hermit back inside the storage space of the Dimensional Magic Cube and changed into a modern-style outfit.

Hermit was now a genuine divine sword comparable to a World Item. It would stand out far too much in front of Satoru, who possessed special eyes, so Riezel had already decided not to use it unless necessary.

As for the clothes he wore, they had been created with Create Greater Item. Even though they had been changed into a modern style, their durability and defensive properties remained within the range of second-class equipment.

Unfortunately, once Riezel enrolled in Tokyo Jujutsu High, he probably would not be able to keep wearing these clothes and would have to switch to the school’s uniform. Satoru, Yuji, and the others had always worn jujutsu high’s uniforms, so Riezel probably would not be an exception.

”By the way, I’ve got a question for you.”

As they walked, Satoru suddenly spoke.

”Do you like dolls?”

If it had been anyone else, they might have been stunned by such a sudden change in topic.

However, Riezel remained completely calm.

”I’m fine with them, but my girls would probably love them.”

As soon as he said that, Satoru Gojo’s footsteps suddenly stopped.

Riezel stopped as well.

”...You already got a girlfriend?”

”A girlfriend? Yeah, you could say that.”

”...Really?”

”Yep.”

”How old is she?”

”About my age.”

”Hmm... is she pretty?”

”Very.”

”...”

”...”

Just like that, the two exchanged a brief conversation before falling silent together.

Several seconds later, Satoru suddenly turned around and suddenly exploded in anger.

”You traitor! Get your ass beaten to death by a doll!”

Satoru declared with a furious roar before throwing a doll at him.

”HAAH!”

Wearing a pair of boxing gloves on its hands, the doll immediately opened its eyes and actually came to life the moment it was thrown out, before letting out a strange cry as it threw a powerful punch toward Riezel.

Seeing the ridiculous scene, Riezel had already sensed that something was wrong to some extent, but the corner of his mouth still twitched uncontrollably.

’What kind of bullshit development is this?’
