Looking Forward to Another World

Temple, Hall.

Having successfully obtained a great treasure, Riezel, Lizbeth, and Maya returned here.

Maya seemed like she had already completed the main mission of escorting them into the temple, so even though she hadn’t left and hadn’t sent anyone else out, she appeared a bit bored, hardly paying any attention to Raven and Nibald, who were still participating in the trial.

Lizbeth, on the other hand, looked concerned as she held the ring she had just obtained, but instead of wearing it, she kept it in her hand, seemingly lost in thought.

Riezel wanted to say something to comfort Lizbeth, but he also knew that she was probably feeling a bit overwhelmed right now. While her true origins had been partially uncovered, it still felt heavier, and it was clearly wearing down the little princess, who had always had low mental endurance.

’Well, she just needs some time, so let her take a moment to herself.’

In the end, Riezel made this decision, then, with a concerned look, wandered around the temple hall with Lizbeth, who seemed absent-minded, continuing to observe the murals.

However, the remaining murals mostly depicted humanity’s struggle against monsters, occasionally interspersed with scenes of worshipping a god, but after looking at these murals, Riezel made an additional discovery.

’Not everyone gets the chance for dimensional travel. Only the chosen few can use the power of the Dimensional Magic Cube, the so-called power of god, to travel to other worlds and gain strength and weapons.’

On the murals, Riezel saw people stepping onto the stairway of light created by the Dimensional Magic Cube, embarking on dimensional travel to other worlds, but these people were few and far between.

Moreover, it seemed that all these people had some connection to Moslow, as they all held a golden sword.

At first, Riezel thought only the first person to undergo dimensional travel had done so, but later, he realized that these figures had slight differences in their lines—the most obvious difference was that some of the figures were female, with lines that were much different from the males.

It was because of this that Riezel realized the people who had undergone dimensional travel were not the same person.

Regardless, whether male or female, old or young, they all held Moslow in their hands without exception.

’So, are they all Lizbeth’s clansmen?’

’Only the direct descendants of the first person who got the opportunity for dimensional travel can have the same ability to travel between worlds?’

’And the one who first gained the power... is the so-called King of Heroes from that clan...?’

Riezel felt like he was starting to piece things together.

’No, just looking at the murals, the information is really limited.’

Riezel thought for a moment before deciding to ask Maya if he could borrow some books from the temple’s library, preferably those that recorded the history of the ancient magic civilization.

However, when Riezel asked Maya, she gave him some bad news.

”Books that record the secrets and history of my era were basically all stolen by those despicable bastards who deceived me.”

Saying this, Maya led Riezel into the temple’s library, where he saw mostly empty shelves.

”Whether it’s magic books or swordsmanship books, any valuable books were taken by those hateful thieves. All that’s left are some old books that talk about the customs and manners of my time that might be good for scholars who like to study history or trace the developments of ancient times, but for you, these are probably useless, right?”

Maya looked bored as she told Riezel.

”Once those two are done with the trial, I’m planning to give them the remaining books. I believe they can find some value in them. As for you, it’s clear you have no interest in them.”

It had to be said that Maya had a keen eye, since she was so accurate that Riezel almost wanted to ask her why, with such good judgment, she had been deceived by a group of suspicious people in the past.

However, if he said that, it would definitely infuriate Maya, so Riezel wisely kept his mouth shut.

”Does that mean there’s nothing valuable left in this temple?” Riezel asked, couldn’t hide the disappointment in his voice.

”Well, anything worth taking, those damn thieves definitely wouldn’t let go of it, or they wouldn’t have even dared to break into the forbidden room. So, the rest are mostly things they either didn’t want or couldn’t take.” Maya shrugged casually. ”Like the ring that girl took—the identification device it was stored in is pretty powerful. Anyone other than that girl who touches it will be struck by a powerful magic trap set in advance, even me.”

In other words, the remaining treasures in the temple were like that—either they were too precious to be taken and were carefully protected, or they weren’t worth much.

Naturally, in Maya’s words, she wouldn’t feel bad giving away those less valuable items, so it was perfect for Raven and Nibald, letting them have some kind of gain.

No matter what, these were still relics from the ancient magic civilization, so whether treasures or knowledge, they might not immediately benefit people like Raven and Nibald, but as long as they took them for research and analysis, they might be able to reproduce some precious technologies that could help advance modern magic civilization.

Even if those technologies were basic or ordinary, as the saying goes, tall buildings were built from the ground up. As long as they kept exploring those technologies and knowledge, modern magic civilization could speed up its development, and they could research higher-level technologies based on it.

In any case, while those things were useless to Riezel and of little value to Maya, for Raven, who had power and a country behind him, and for Nibald, a grandmaster in the world of magic, they were perfect.

However, it also meant that Riezel’s journey would end up fruitless since he only ended up with a bunch of useless Autonomous Guardian Cores.

To make matters worse, after Maya found out that Riezel had taken most of the Autonomous Guardian Cores, she directly asked him for them.

”Those Autonomous Guardians are one of the main forces protecting this city. Since you don’t need them, why not leave them here?”

Maya’s righteous demand left Riezel with no choice but to return all the Autonomous Guardian Cores to her.

However, Riezel wasn’t the type to let himself be at a disadvantage, so since he hadn’t gained anything, he would create his own gain.

With such a thought in mind, Riezel asked Maya to teach him the two magic spells she had used before.

Yes.

Riezel had set his sights on Maya’s magic spells.

It was not strange for Riezel to want them, as not only did they come from an ancient magic civilization, but he had also personally felt how powerful their effects were.

As Maya explained the two magic spells, they were indeed incredibly powerful.

”They’re the two magic spells I specialize in—one main attack, one main defense. As long as I practice these two well, I generally have an absolute advantage in most battles.”

”’Sacrament - Aurora’ and ’Sacrament - Wheel Mirror’ are the names of the two magic spells I specialize in.”

’Sacrament - Aurora’ was a light attribute magic with the effect of increasing power and speed as the user’s ability and magical energy output improved.

Moreover, the stronger the user’s ability, the higher the power and speed of the magic, and the more magical energy it outputs, the stronger the magic becomes. In addition, it had characteristics like tracking, charging, condensing, and remote control, making it a high-level offensive magic that could grow and become stronger along with the user.

’Sacrament - Wheel Mirror’, on the other hand, was the magic mirror that Maya had summoned multiple times, a dark attribute magic.

As Riezel had encountered before, it had the effect of absorbing others’ magic and reflecting it back, but the amount of magic absorbed and reflected depended on the user’s ability and magical energy output.

It could also be used repeatedly, and as long as the mirror wasn’t shattered, it would stay with the user, absorbing and reflecting all magic aimed at them—truly an ultimate counterattack magic against magic.

Maya told Riezel that she had spent her life studying the two magic spells, which grew stronger alongside the user, and hadn’t learned any other magic, solely focusing on maximizing the power of the two.

For the two magic spells, Maya had even given up on physical defense, which made even the high priests uncomfortable, forcing them to exert great effort to make a special robe to help her resist physical attacks.

Nevertheless, whether this approach was right or wrong, Maya had already proven it by the fact that she was able to go toe-to-toe with Riezel using just these two magic spells.

At least, from Riezel’s perspective, Maya’s strength was above that of Raven and Nibald.

What did this mean?

It meant Maya wasn’t just at Level 7 anymore but very likely above Level 7, having reached a level that even the current Orario didn’t have—Level 8.

If it weren’t for Riezel’s expertise in magic, which subtly surpassed his swordsmanship, and ultimate magic like time magic, he might not have been able to defeat Maya.

”Sacrament - Aurora...”

”Sacrament - Wheel Mirror...”

Riezel listened carefully to Maya’s explanation of these two magic spells, memorizing their detailed effects.

Once he confirmed that Almighty had taken effect and that these two magic spells had already become his, Riezel smiled and finished Maya’s magic lecture.

Just like that, one powerful offensive magic and one ultimate counterattack magic became Riezel’s possession.

In the end, after about half a day had passed, Raven and Nibald finally returned to the temple’s hall, covered in wounds. They had passed the trial and obtained the remaining books from the temple, as well as some magic items left by the ancient magic civilization.

”Is it over? In that case, let’s go out.” Maya said calmly.

Hearing this, everyone left the temple one by one with content expressions, joining up with Kaiser and the others who were waiting outside.

*Rumble—*

With a tremor, the temple barrier returned to its original state as if nothing had happened, concealing all traces.
