Reborn in the 1970s — Married a Proud Rough Man

For every step she took back, he took one forward. She retreated again, and he pressed on, until Qin Mei’s back hit the wall, leaving her with nowhere to escape.

Jie Jingchen braced his hands on the wall, trapping Qin Mei between his body and the hard surface. His deep voice was utterly enchanting. ”I’m not sleepy.”

He’d never had a habit of napping in the afternoon, but he’d picked it up from Qin Mei. Now, even after going back to work, he made sure to sneak in a quick doze during his lunch break.

She was all too familiar with that look. Qin Mei felt a flicker of apprehension as his hot breath washed over her face. She instinctively raised her hands to his chest, stopping his hard torso from pressing against her soft curves. ”Jie Jingsi, move.”

”Meimei.” Jie Jingchen leaned down and captured her lips. The kiss was gentle at first, a slow, intimate exploration.

”Ngh...” Qin Mei’s heart hammered against her ribs. ’We’re not in our room, we’re out here under the eaves! How can Jie Jingchen be even more shameless than I am?’

’This man is insane.’ Qin Mei’s eyes flew open. She gazed into Jie Jingchen’s fiery, passionate gaze and felt as if she were under a spell. The hands that had been pushing against his chest drifted up, wrapping instinctively around his neck as she closed her eyes and kissed him back with equal fervor.

A flicker of joy lit up Jie Jingchen’s amber eyes. One arm tightened around her waist while his other hand moved to cup the back of her head, deepening the kiss with a tender, languid passion.

CRASH! The sound of a shattering bowl came from the kitchen, immediately followed by Jie Anqi’s yelling.

The sudden noise made Qin Mei jump, jolting her from the trance of Jie Jingchen’s kiss. She tried to push him away, but his lips had rendered her weak, her body pliant and boneless, completely devoid of strength.

Qin Mei opened her eyes to see the restraint in Jie Jingchen’s gaze. ’This man gets aroused at the drop of a hat.’

With a slight effort, Qin Mei managed to turn her head away from his lips. She spoke breathlessly, ”Your cousin is in the kitchen.”

Qin Mei was relieved that Jie Anqi hadn’t come out. ’It would be a huge problem if she saw us kissing.’

’Kissing on the street is normal in the future, but people are so conservative in this era. Forget kissing—even holding hands is enough to get people gossiping.’

”Ignore her.” Jie Jingchen’s voice was low and raspy. ”It’ll take Jie Anqi a while to wash the dishes. Qin Xiang took Jing Qi out, and Granny and Grandpa went to their room for a nap.”

Qin Mei wondered if she’d heard him right. ’Is that really something Jie Jingchen would say?’

Blushing, Qin Mei looked at Jie Jingchen and reminded him, ”Jie Jingsi, we’re not inside our room.”

”I know.” Jie Jingchen’s gaze fell on her lips, now luscious and swollen from his kisses. The passion that had yet to fade from his amber eyes flared up again, sending Qin Mei’s heart into a frantic rhythm.

”No, you don’t.” Seeing him lean in again, Qin Mei slapped a hand over her mouth just as his lips were about to touch hers. ”Jie Jingsi, pace yourself!”

Jie Jingchen’s lips landed on the back of her hand instead. He pressed a soft kiss there. The warm, gentle touch felt like a feather stroking her very core, and Qin Mei nearly came undone. ’This man is an absolute siren.’

Calling Jie Jingchen a siren... Qin Mei didn’t find it the least bit strange.

”Ahh! My hand!” Jie Anqi shrieked.

Jie Anqi could come running out of the kitchen at any second. A look of frustration and thwarted desire crossed Jie Jingchen’s handsome face. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and opened them again. Just like that, the lust was gone. Qin Mei stared at him in shock. ’One moment he’s burning with desire for me, and the next, it’s completely vanished. This man’s self-control is unbelievable.’

Qin Mei had a strong suspicion that Jie Jingchen possessed the same absolute self-control in bed. When he lost himself, it wasn’t because he couldn’t hold back, but because he *chose* not to, allowing himself to indulge in their passion.

”Brother Xiang, I’m hurt!” Jie Anqi wailed from the kitchen.

”Your cousin is hurt.” When Jie Jingchen didn’t move, Qin Mei gave his chest a little push.

Jie Jingchen’s expression darkened instantly. He pressed his lips into a thin line, a storm brewing in his eyes. He was clearly and utterly frustrated.

Jie Jingchen spun around and strode toward the kitchen.

Qin Mei took a moment to compose herself, then followed him.

Jie Anqi was squatting on the floor, surrounded by the shattered pieces of a bowl. Her index finger had a gash from a sharp shard, and drops of bright red blood dripped from the wound. Hearing footsteps, she felt a surge of secret delight. But when she looked up and saw it was only Jie Jingchen with Qin Mei trailing behind him—and not Qin Xiang—her face fell. She pouted, displeased. ”Where’s Brother Xiang?”

”Jie Anqi, what kind of game are you playing now?” A volatile mix of ice and fire flared in Jie Jingchen’s eyes, his aura dark and menacing.

”Fourth Brother, you’re yelling at me again,” Jie Anqi whined, pointing at the shards on the floor and ignoring her bleeding finger. ”I was washing the dishes and accidentally broke a bowl. Then I cut my finger when I was trying to clean it up. Look, Fourth Brother, it’s still bleeding.”
