”How are you feeling?”

Only after all the wounded were settled did Qin Ziwen ask about his younger brother’s condition.

”Pretty good.” Qin Ziwu nodded. ”Not only did I break through my limits, but I feel like I’ve gained several special abilities.”

Qin Ziwen gave a slight nod. In truth, he already knew about Qin Ziwu and Cao Biansheng’s situations through Insight.

But seeing how excited the kid was, he pretended not to know, indulging his younger brother’s desire to talk.

Qin Ziwu raised his right hand. ”Big Brother, I feel like my abilities are more group-oriented, probably because of the task I completed when I broke through to Extraordinary.”

”Most likely.” Qin Ziwen agreed with Qin Ziwu’s guess. The nature of the task completed while breaking through to Extraordinary was probably related to the abilities gained upon ascension.

For example, Qin Ziwu’s abilities were geared toward groups, fitting the role of a war leader.

Cao Biansheng’s abilities, on the other hand, were more focused on the individual, enhancing personal killing techniques, and were especially potent against humans.

[Extraordinary Conqueror Human (Qin Ziwu): ☆☆☆☆★]: Level 2 Hand of Conquest, Level 1 Inspiration, Level 1 War Cry

[Extraordinary Slaughterer Human (Cao Biansheng): ☆☆☆☆★]: Level 2 Slaughter Mark, Level 1 Weapon Mastery, Level 1 Brutal Power

”Honestly, I wanted to go in Cao Biansheng’s direction. Sigh, my abilities are too team-focused,” Qin Ziwu lamented. As he spoke, his right hand silently took on a faint golden sheen.

”Is that the Hand of Conquest you were talking about?” Qin Ziwen looked at his brother’s right hand and teased, ”I think ’Golden Right Hand’ is a more fitting description. Your right hand might be pretty busy from now on.”

The effect of Hand of Conquest was simple. When Qin Ziwu activated it, transforming it into its ”Golden Right Hand” form, any friendly target he directly touched with that hand would receive a minor, all-attribute enhancement for the next half-hour.

After testing it by clapping his hands together, Qin Ziwu found that the enhancement ranged from about 10% to 15%.

”...” Qin Ziwu was rendered speechless. He could already picture the scene.

Before a battle or a hunt, a huge crowd of people would line up to shake his hand one by one...

”No way! No handshakes. It has to be a pat on the shoulder!” Qin Ziwu made up his mind. ’At least a pat on the shoulder sounds cooler.’

After all, all that was required was direct contact with his right hand. As for the method, wasn’t that up to him to decide?

Besides Hand of Conquest, his other two abilities were also area-of-effect.

Inspiration required Qin Ziwu to perform a clear act of encouragement, such as giving a speech, shouting words of support, or raising a fist—actions that others could see or hear.

Once activated, it would produce a significant morale boost for all allied units who perceived the act.

War Cry dispelled one negative status effect from all friendly units within its range, but it was limited to mental effects.

A nostalgic look flickered in Qin Ziwen’s eyes. ”When you were little, you were always running around with a toy sword, saying you wanted to be my great general. Now, your wish has come true.”

Qin Ziwu froze for a moment at those words, then a smile spread across his face.

”Finally done.” Cao Biansheng walked over. He had just gone back to take a shower and wash off the blood.

He was now bare-chested, wearing only a pair of shorts.

There were more than a dozen wounds on his neck, the backs of his hands, and his abdomen.

Most had already scabbed over.

”Leader, I broke through.” Cao Biansheng eagerly showed his newly acquired abilities to Qin Ziwen.

No telling who he learned that from.

First was Slaughter Mark, a passive ability.

Wounds inflicted by his weapons would be harder to heal and would cause continuous bleeding.

Next was Weapon Mastery. Cao Biansheng would find it easier to handle any weapon, and his learning speed would be greatly increased.

Finally, Brutal Power was a quasi-passive effect. In combat, he would radiate an invisible aura of intimidation, putting psychological pressure on his enemies.

Cao Biansheng sighed. ”I got three passives, and you got three actives. To be honest, I wanted an active ability, too.”

Qin Ziwu looked at him with disgust. ”Don’t act all modest after getting the better deal. Dammit, your abilities are the ones I wanted.”

Qin Ziwen said, ”Your abilities are suited for combat and match your personality. Both of you should familiarize yourselves with your powers as quickly as possible. When the time is right, we need to make a trip into the sea.”

”Are we going to that Fishman Tribe?” Qin Ziwu had heard about their previous visit.

”Yes. We borrowed soldiers from them and took them into battle. It’s only right that we pay them a visit.” Qin Ziwen then asked, ”How is the sole surviving Muddy Race Fishman doing?”

”We gave it some Healing Spring, and it’s still recovering. It couldn’t get used to the land, so it went back into the sea.” Qin Ziwu frowned. ”But it’s still wounded. Being in the sea might affect its recovery.”

”Fishmen have unique constitutions. They’re originally from the sea. Maybe its wounds will heal even faster there. Don’t try to judge Fishmen by human standards.”

Qin Ziwu asked curiously, ”So when are we going to the Fishman Tribe?”

”No rush. We have to go somewhere else first. We can treat it as a vacation.”

Both Qin Ziwu and Cao Biansheng guessed where. Hearing they had a chance to return to the forest, both of them showed great interest.

They had been by the sea every day recently, and the scenery had grown a bit monotonous.

They rested overnight.

The following day, Qin Ziwen activated the regression function and opened the passage.

For the members who had recently joined the Qin Alliance, returning to the initial forest map was an emotional experience; those who had returned once before were less affected.

When the lush primeval forest came into view once more, many felt their eyes well up, on the verge of tears.

Only after experiencing different maps could one truly appreciate how good the starting map was.

Some hugged the rough tree trunks, pressing their faces against the bark.

Others ran toward the distance, searching for the cars they had abandoned in the forest.

During the previous flood, many of the vehicles had been submerged, becoming water-damaged wrecks.

They had later been stripped of many parts and components, leaving behind empty shells.

Weeds grew rampant, poking out from windows and sunroofs, while vines crawled over the cars.

They had become natural dens for many small animals.

Two panicked wild rabbits shot out from under one of the cars.

The sound of something cutting through the air rang out almost simultaneously as two Long Spears fell with precision, pinning them to the ground.

”How about that!” Yuan Ming laughed heartily, pulling out his spear and shaking it smugly at Wang Yun beside him. ”My aim is dead-on, wouldn’t you say?”

Wang Yun pulled out the other Long Spear with a deadpan expression. ”It’s average. Bullying rabbits doesn’t count for much. If you’ve got the guts, go hunt a wild boar.”

”Heh, I don’t think that’s a bad idea.” Hearing this, Yuan Ming showed no fear. Instead, he looked eager, rubbing his hands together.

After experiencing so much, returning here gave them the illusion of ”coming home rich and famous.”

”Stop showing off. Don’t act on your own, follow orders!” Qin Ziwu came up from behind and gave Yuan Ming a light kick on the butt. ”Getting cocky already? You haven’t even made it over that mountain, and you think you’ve conquered this forest? What we’re seeing now is just the tip of the iceberg.”
