Chapter 136: Chapter 127: Exchange

After appraising the exchange price for the Cards, the next step was to establish the standards for assessing contribution points.

After a series of discussions, they finally settled on a simple plan.

If a hunted target dropped a Card, 80% of the Card’s total value would be divided among the team members who participated in the hunt.

Qin Ziwen said, ”After all, hunting beasts is very risky. Those who participate are frontline combatants. The risks on the front lines are immense; you could die at any moment.”

Yang Cunshen nodded in agreement. ”Great rewards breed brave men. The military must also have clear rewards and punishments for its soldiers to fight fiercely.”

The Card dropped this time was worth a total of 55 contribution points, so 80% of that was 44 points.

Wang Yun said, ”You provided the Giant Toad’s return route, Captain. You should take a larger share.”

Yuan Ming quickly added, ”That’s right! You and Brother Du were the ones who blinded the toad. If it hadn’t lost an eye, it wouldn’t have hopped crookedly later on. The two arrows you shot at the end were what made it fall. You two deserve the most credit. I think just a few points are enough for me.”

Qin Ziwen smiled. ”I only provided the route. Yang Cunshen suggested the specific ambush location, and Dr. Wang came up with the Incendiary Bottle tactic. Plus, he provided thirty Incendiary Bottles for free. We can’t calculate it like that. Every single person on our team contributed to hunting the Giant Toad; we couldn’t have done it if anyone was missing.”

The battlefield is ever-changing. No plan, no matter how good, can compare to on-the-spot improvisation. Take this time, for example. We killed it before we even had a chance to use Plan B. Who could have predicted that? I believe that if it came to a crisis, you all would have stepped up too. You just didn’t get a chance to show it this time.

”How about this? There are eight of us. Five times eight is forty. Everyone gets five contribution points. Then, Wang Yun, Du Yu, Yang Cunshen, and I will each take one extra point. What do you all think?”

Wang Yun smiled. ”I have no problem with that. It’s settled.”

Seeing that the two who had contributed the most didn’t object, the others silently accepted the arrangement.

Yuan Ming felt a little ashamed, thinking he didn’t deserve the five points. He decided that the next time he participated in a hunt, he would definitely give it his all!

Deng Guang also said nothing, simply committing it to memory.

Li Yue scratched his head. ’I just got five contribution points for that?’

According to the team’s assessment standards, the contribution points he received were roughly equivalent to a common Building Card.

Thinking of it that way, Li Yue was inwardly astonished.

’Brother Qin is so generous! There’s a future in following a leader like him!’

Qin Ziwen asked, ”Does anyone want to exchange for a Card?”

Yuan Ming shook his head. He had already leeched some contribution points, so he was too embarrassed to be the first to pick a Card. He planned to let the others choose first.

Li Yue also shook his head. He was all alone. His contribution points were only enough to exchange for a Carpenter’s Hut or an Orchard, and he wouldn’t have time to manage either.

It was better to save them.

Deng Guang was somewhat interested in the Orchard, but after thinking it over, he quickly gave up the idea.

’There’s no space at home to build an orchard anyway! I should just save up my contribution points and honestly exchange them for an Expansion Card.’

Wang Yun looked at Qin Ziwen. ”Captain, you go first.”

Qin Ziwu shrugged. ”Big Brother, you can have my contribution points. There’s nothing I want to exchange for.”

Qin Ziwen looked at the Advanced Resource Card and the Building Enhancement Card.

There was no need to exchange for common Cards at the moment.

The daily settlement would most likely provide common Cards anyway.

However, these two new types of Cards, which he had never seen before, were quite tempting.

But the Building Enhancement Card was too random. Qin Ziwen’s target was still the Healing Spring.

He was still 8 contribution points short of exchanging for the Healing Spring.

Qin Ziwen said frankly, ”I want to exchange for the Healing Spring, but I’m a bit short on contribution points. So there’s nothing I want to exchange for either.”

Besides, he had a selfish thought. Even though these Cards hadn’t been exchanged, they were all stored with him. After midnight tonight, he could ride the wave of the daily settlement bonus and take off!

Wang Yun was stunned for a moment, then broke into a smile. ”Fine, you can all keep declining. I want to exchange for that Level 1 Spring Eye!”

”Alright.” Qin Ziwen handed the Level 1 Spring Eye Card to Wang Yun.

Wang Yun took the Card and put it away carefully.

Afterward, Wang Yun and the others went to try out the Celestial Star Arrow Gallery, clicking their tongues in amazement.

But Wang Yun still cautiously warned the others, ”We’re all on the same team now. Don’t go running your mouths or bragging about this outside. Otherwise, you won’t have to wait for Captain Qin to act. I’ll be the first one to take care of you!”

Before leaving, Wang Yun, walking at the back of the group, said quietly to Qin Ziwen, ”You’re really magnanimous, willing to reveal this building. But I’ve known Yuan Ming for four or five years. I can confirm his personality is just as it seems. He’s a genuine person.”

Qin Ziwen nodded. ”I know. But if you use someone, don’t doubt them; if you doubt them, don’t use them. Besides, the sooner you all improve your Arrow Skill, the more it will benefit the team.”

”Mm...” Wang Yun nodded silently. ”Alright, we’re heading out then.”

After leaving Qin Ziwen’s house, Yuan Ming returned home.

As soon as he walked in, he saw the family from next door chatting with his parents in the living room. Their daughter was sitting beside them.

”Ming, what happened to your forehead?” Yuan Ming’s mother stood up, walked over to him, and looked worriedly at the large, swollen lump on his forehead.

Back at Qin Ziwen’s house, they had already applied alcohol and iodine to the lump to disinfect it.

Yuan Ming said nonchalantly, ”It’s nothing. I just fell down.”

”How could you get that from a fall! How could you even fall there? I’ve told you before, stop messing around with that Wang fellow! You two even offended the Alliance Association. If it weren’t for Uncle Zhang from next door putting in a good word...” ”Mom!” Yuan Ming cut his mother off.

Yuan Ming said seriously, ”I’m an adult now. I have my own thoughts. And I have a new team. This team is really great, and I really like it.”

Mrs. Yuan asked, ”A new team? Is it part of the Alliance Association?”

Yuan Ming hesitated for a moment, then shook his head. ”No, but the captain and the others are really skilled!”

Mrs. Yuan pressed on, ”Then what about the game you hunted today?”

Yuan Ming was taken aback. ’Game?’ The Giant Toad was most likely poisonous, and it had been doused in gasoline. The meat reeked and was completely inedible.

But he had earned five contribution points, which was almost equivalent to a Card!

But he couldn’t talk about hunting the Giant Toad.

Seeing her son’s silence, Mrs. Yuan said, ”You know, your dad and Uncle Zhang have been colleagues for over twenty years. We know them inside and out. Uncle Zhang really appreciates you. He’s a captain of a Hunting Team in the Alliance Association now. Wouldn’t it be better for you to join his team?”

”Mom! My current team is really good. Can you please not push me?” Yuan Ming said, exasperated.

Sitting on the sofa, Zhang Liang chuckled and waved his hand. ”It’s alright. He’s a young man; it’s normal to have his own ideas. But Ming, your parents don’t have any ill intentions. They’re just doing what’s best for you, worrying about your safety. You should think it over.”

After saying this, Zhang Liang exchanged a few more pleasantries with Yuan Ming’s parents and then left with his daughter.

Before she left, Zhang Zihan glanced back at Yuan Ming with a flicker of confusion in her eyes. ’Dad’s Hunting Team is so good, and they could even look out for him. Why wouldn’t he join?’

’His grades were bad back in school, and now that we’ve crossed over to this place, he’s still as dense as a block of wood. I have no idea what Dad sees in him.’
