Divine Emperor of Heavenly Destiny

Although Yu Fei was old and his cultivation was only at the Peak of the Transformation Realm, his speed was so fast that even Yin Ye and Sun Shijin could barely keep up. He was truly risking his life, intending to smash himself to death against the Demon Dragon Divine Bone on the back mountain.

In the blink of an eye, the group chased him to the back mountain.

Yin Ye shouted, ”Old Yu, don’t do anything rash! We believe you!”

”Old Yu, the academy needs you!” Sun Shijin shouted as well.

But Yu Fei paid them no mind...

His True Qi burned as he charged faster and faster. His aged eyes were fixed on the Demon Dragon Divine Bone, and his hoarse voice boomed, ”O spirits of my ancestors, please hear my call and save Dragon Flame Academy!”

With that, he was about to smash headfirst into it.

Sun Shijin and Yin Ye were still ten meters behind him. Seeing this, they both frantically unleashed their True Qi, trying to pull him back.

But it was clear they wouldn’t make it in time...

Suddenly, a figure flashed into view before the Demon Dragon Divine Bone and asked, ”What... are you all doing?”

As the voice fell, Yu Fei, who had been steeling himself to crash to his death, widened his eyes and slammed on the brakes. He hurriedly retracted the burning True Qi of his Destiny Bone, screeching to a halt right in front of the figure.

He stared with his aged eyes at the figure and said, ”You’re Lu Chao, the one from today? What are you doing here?”

This figure was, of course, Lu Chao, who had been cultivating beside the Demon Dragon Divine Bone.

Hearing all the shouting, he had rushed out to block the old man who seemed determined to smash himself to death...

Before Lu Chao could answer, Yin Ye and Sun Shijin rushed up and pinned Yu Fei between them.

Immediately after, Dean Jiang and the others arrived. One by one, they sighed in relief upon seeing that Yu Fei had been stopped.

Everyone’s gazes then quickly turned to Lu Chao...

Dean Jiang said with lingering fear, ”Lu Chao, it’s a good thing you were here. Otherwise, Old Yu would have killed himself.”

Blinking, Lu Chao was still struggling to understand what was happening. ’Why was he trying to kill himself?’

”Let me go...”

”I have to awaken the ancestral spirits! I have one foot in the grave anyway, so just let me try!”

”Only the Divine Bone Nine Sons Array can nurture nine Innate Students within a month!”

At this, Yu Fei started struggling and shouting again, but there was no way Yin Ye and the others would let him do anything crazy.

One after another, they each tried to persuade him...

Lu Chao finally pieced it all together, his heart filled with a complex mix of emotions.

Although this Old Yu’s actions were inadvisable, he was willing to give his life for the revival of Dragon Flame Academy.

Suddenly, Lu Chao muttered to himself, ’Divine Bone Nine Sons Array? Was that the thing I just saw?’

He had been cultivating for several hours now, ever since he had devoured and fused with the Star Dragon General Bone.

He had cultivated from day until night, and just a moment ago, he’d felt as if he saw something strange manifest before his eyes.

Before he could get a clear look, the shouts from Yu Fei’s group had snapped him out of his state.

With this in mind, Lu Chao closed his eyes once more...

He circulated the Heavenly Destiny Dragon General Bone True Qi he had just finished cultivating, and his aura began to slowly spread toward the Demon Dragon Divine Bone.

When his aura touched the Demon Dragon Divine Bone... THUMP! THUMP!

It was as if he could hear a heartbeat from within the Demon Dragon Divine Bone. His consciousness seemed to spread out around it, and wondrous array patterns began to materialize in Lu Chao’s mind, gradually forming a complete Array Map.

He slowly opened his eyes, and his surroundings returned to the overgrown, grassy clearing.

Just then, Sun Shijin’s voice boomed out...

”Old Yu, will you stop this nonsense?”

”There’s no such thing as a Divine Bone Nine Sons Array! It’s just a legend! What’s the point of throwing your life away for nothing?”

Unable to persuade him, Sun Shijin was overcome with grief and roared.

The outburst stunned Yu Fei into silence.

Tears streamed down his aged face as he said, ”But Dragon Flame Academy has no hope! Even if there’s just a sliver of a chance, we have to try.”

Suddenly, Yu Fei was crying like a child, his voice trembling uncontrollably.

The eyes of Dean Jiang and the others standing nearby also began to redden.

It wasn’t that they didn’t wish the Divine Bone Nine Sons Array was real, but the reality was that it was just a legend—an impossible one at that.

Abruptly... VMMMM!

Just as everyone’s heart was in turmoil from Yu Fei’s cries, the moss-covered Demon Dragon Divine Bone suddenly trembled.

Everyone instinctively looked up and froze, stunned.

They watched as the moss on the Demon Dragon Divine Bone cracked apart. Line after line of array patterns appeared on the bone, flashing with a bright white light that illuminated everyone’s faces.

The array patterns extended out from the Demon Dragon Divine Bone, swiftly enveloping them all and forming a complete Array Map.

Yu Fei, Yin Ye, Dean Jiang, and Sun Shijin stood dumbfounded in the center of the Array Map.

After a long moment, a stunned Sun Shijin stammered, ”Could this be... the Divine Bone Nine Sons Array? Am I dreaming?”

This was simply inconceivable, beyond all comprehension...

He had just adamantly insisted it was only a legend, and now, in the blink of an eye, it had appeared right before him.

’Was I just proven wrong? If so, this feels amazing.’

The tears on Yu Fei’s face were caught in his wrinkles. He opened his mouth and, trembling uncontrollably, cried, ”The ancestral spirits have answered! They finally heard my call! The Divine Bone Nine Sons Array has activated! It’s activated!”

As he spoke, he shot a look at Sun Shijin and the others. ”You little rascals, do you believe me now?”

They were all rendered speechless, unable to argue. They knew they had been wrong.

The next moment... VMMMM!

The surrounding array patterns vanished without a trace in an instant.

Everyone was stunned again. Yu Fei’s smile vanished as he cried out, ”It’s gone! Why is it gone again?”

He rushed forward to examine the Demon Dragon Divine Bone. Since Lu Chao was in his way, he added quickly, ”Lu Chao, step aside for a moment. Let me see how the Divine Bone Nine Sons Array is activated.”

Yin Ye, Sun Shijin, and the others also hurried forward to inspect the Demon Dragon Divine Bone, but there seemed to be no change.

It was so strange, so baffling...

”Could it be we were just dreaming?”

”It definitely wasn’t a dream; the moss is cracked. Don’t tell me it only activates when Old Yu has a good cry?”

”Don’t be ridiculous. Things don’t work that way.”

As they all discussed the matter, it seemed Old Yu had actually believed the part about crying and was preparing to squeeze out a few more tears.

Suddenly... AHEM.

Lu Chao gave a couple of small coughs and said, ”Everyone, the Divine Bone Nine Sons Array disappeared mainly because I’m still a bit unfamiliar with it. I just need to focus and try again.”

At his words, everyone subconsciously looked at Lu Chao, who had been jostled aside.

Blinking, they all wondered, what did he mean?

Meanwhile, Lu Chao walked back to the Demon Dragon Divine Bone, circulated a bit of True Qi, and said, ”Watch. This is how it’s activated.”

With that, he gently pressed his palm against the Demon Dragon Divine Bone... VMMMM!

In that instant, the Divine Bone Nine Sons Array reappeared.

Yin Ye froze. Sun Shijin’s eyes went wide. Yu Fei stared dumbly at Lu Chao. Dean Jiang and the others looked on in utter disbelief.

Only then did they understand: it was Lu Chao who had activated the Divine Bone Nine Sons Array.
