The Elven Cultivator

The consuls had never imagined that deploying the Golem Legion would fail to improve the situation. Instead, the tide of battle was turning even more against them.

On the Water Curtain’s display, the Steel Golems—the force Dragon City considered its backbone—were being crushed as easily as rotten wood.

The Refined Gold Golems, with combat power in the mid-to-high Silver range, couldn’t even withstand a single clash against those puppets clad in strange armor and wielding a variety of weapons.

They had originally thought the Silver Moon Clan was only able to block the City Lord’s attack because of an Array, and that their true military strength was far inferior to Dragon City’s.

But from the moment the battle began, the power displayed by the Silver Moon Clan had shattered their expectations time and time again.

Black Iron Tier soldiers, all outfitted with Micro-Light Level Magic Equipment.

Fully organized regiments of tamed Dragon Beast cavalry.

And now, these strange and powerful Alchemy Puppets, capable of crushing the Golem Legion in a frontal assault.

Based solely on the military might the Silver Moon Clan had displayed thus far, no other power in the entire Eldron Plain—aside from Kresol Dragon City itself—could possibly compare.

The consuls were completely unable to understand.

’Just over sixty years ago, the Silver Moon Clan could barely even handle the Molten Spike Tribe. In just a few short decades, how had an Elf Clan on the brink of decline managed to develop such a formidable military?’

How on earth did an Elf Clan on the brink of decline develop such a formidable military in just a few short decades?

Unfortunately, no one on the battlefield was there to answer their questions.

The only response was the earth-shattering war cries and the roar of colliding energies.

Aurion’s gaze was fixed on the Water Curtain. He clenched his jaw, forcing a cold command through his gritted teeth.

”Deploy the Radiant Flame Legion! Full assault!”

The battle had reached a point where Kresol Dragon City no longer had the luxury of holding back.

They had to commit their most elite forces, using absolute power to crush any and all uncertainties.

A deep horn blast suddenly echoed, like the roar of an ancient behemoth. It instantly drowned out all the clamor of the battlefield, reverberating across the sky above the plain.

The Radiant Flame Legion was on the move.

Nearly ten thousand Dragon Race soldiers formed up into several phalanxes, advancing with perfectly synchronized steps.

On the flanks of the phalanxes, three thousand cavalry on Firemane Beasts swept forward.

As they ran, the manes of the Firemane Beasts blazed a brilliant orange-red, their flaming tails leaving dazzling trails of light in their wake.

The Dragon Race cavalry sat straight in their saddles, each holding a three-meter lance in one hand, its tip angled up and to the rear.

At the rear of the legion, a thousand Dragon Race Casters hovered in the low sky, mounted on massive wyverns.

They were clad in deep purple robes embroidered with complex runic circuits. The gemstones set atop the Magic Staffs in their hands pulsed with potent elemental energy.

This legion was the bedrock of Kresol Dragon City’s millennia-long rule.

Its fearsome reputation was forged from the blood and bones of countless rebels.

In the long history of the Eldron Plain, no army had ever been able to stand against it in open battle.

Whenever the Radiant Flame Legion took the field, it was a foregone conclusion that they would crush all resistance.

This was an ironclad rule, proven in countless wars.

Watching the Radiant Flame Legion march toward the Silver Moon Forest in a magnificent, overwhelming tide, the consuls’ grim expressions eased slightly.

No matter how many aces the Silver Moon Clan had up their sleeve, their efforts would be futile in the face of the Radiant Flame Legion’s absolute power.

To the consuls’ surprise, however, the moment the Radiant Flame Legion entered the battlefield, the Elves fighting the Vassal and Golem Legions began to disengage without a moment’s hesitation.

Under the cover of Oak Guardians and the Five Camp Divine Soldiers, the Elves retreated like a receding tide, pulling back deep into the forest.

By the time the Radiant Flame Legion reached the front lines, all the Elves had already withdrawn behind the pale cyan barrier of light.

The battlefield was left with nothing but a chaotic mess of corpses, shattered Golem remains, and the cyan light barrier that stood before them like an impassable chasm.

The consuls frowned, but their expressions quickly smoothed over.

’The Elves clearly don’t dare to face the Radiant Flame Legion in a direct confrontation. They can only cower in that shell of theirs, clinging to life.’

’This is a good chance to wear down the Array’s energy.’

’At the same time, the Vassal Army needs time to regroup its shattered formations.’

Aurion quickly issued a series of commands.

Amidst the shrill, screeching calls of the Bat-winged Demons relaying his orders, the heavily battered Vassal Legion retreated in disarray, as if granted a pardon from death.

The Radiant Flame Legion swiftly took their place as the main assault force.

In the sky, a thousand Dragon Race Casters initiated the attack.

They piloted their wyverns above the cyan light barrier and raised their Magic Staffs in unison.

The gemstones on the tips of their staves instantly erupted with a light so dazzling it stung the eyes. Elemental energies of all types surged violently through the air, creating a low, humming vibration.

”Fire!”

At the commander’s order, a torrential rain of countless Magic spells poured down.

Bursting Fireballs trailing long tails of flame, arcing chains of lightning, acid arrows that corroded flesh, Shadow Spears that struck at the very soul... a myriad of spells wove together into a destructive curtain of light, smashing viciously against the pale cyan wall.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A series of deafening explosions rang out.

Splendid but deadly bursts of light erupted across the surface of the cyan barrier. Ripples spread out in waves, as if countless pebbles had been thrown into a lake at once.

”Second wave! Fire!”

”Third wave! Keep firing!”

The Dragon Race Casters didn’t pause for a moment, unleashing their Magic Power at an astonishing rate.

Meanwhile, on the battlefield below, the Dragon Race Warriors who had advanced to the edge of the light barrier also began to act.
