Goblin King: My Innate Skill Is OP

Another female stepped out of the hut.

Then another.

All of them looked disheveled—hair loose, clothes half-fastened, and as soon as they saw me, they scurried off.

That immediately drew my attention.

I narrowed my eyes slightly, curiosity rising as I tried to piece together what exactly had been happening inside that building at a time like this, when the entire settlement was on alert.

And then the last figure stepped out.

A familiar one.

”Thok?”

The name left my mouth before I could stop it.

The little runt froze the instant he heard my voice echo from the branch above. His shoulders locked, and he turned slowly, as though hoping he had misheard.

He had not.

”You piece of shit,” I snapped instinctively. ”What were you doing inside with those three?”

Thok opened his mouth, but no words came out. His face shifted through about five different expressions in the span of two seconds—shock, guilt, panic, calculation, then outright fear.

Of all the times.

Of all the possible moments.

I was about to descend and interrogate him properly, but I forced myself to stop.

This was neither the time nor the place.

The rival clan was mobilizing. The wall was armed. The barrier was active.

I didn’t have the luxury of dealing with internal nonsense right now.

I exhaled sharply.

”You…” I pointed at him from above. ”You’re in trouble when I get back. Do you hear me?”

Thok nodded so frantically I thought his head might detach from his neck.

”Yes, Chief! I— I was just—”

”Save it.”

He snapped his mouth shut instantly.

That conversation would happen later.

Right now, I had a fortified settlement to dismantle.

I shook my head and used [Leap], space folding beneath my feet as I reappeared in the area where I had previously marked the ground outside the wall.

Honestly… I already knew Thok was popular with the females. They were always hanging around him, laughing at whatever nonsense he said, hovering nearby whenever he returned from patrols.

But I hadn’t realized it had gotten to the point where he was actually sleeping with them.

Well… if those females ended up pregnant and produced offspring, that would technically mean more numbers for the clan.

That was a practical advantage.

Still…

To think that little brat had managed to build himself something close to a harem while the rest of his squadmates were out working, training, or fighting monsters.

My jaw tightened slightly.

That little runt.

I would make sure he was severely disciplined when I returned.

Not for the females.

But for slacking.

Shaking the thought away, I returned my attention to the present situation.

When I looked up at the wall again, the activity had increased noticeably. More goblins were now moving along the stone platform at the top, their silhouettes shifting as they took positions near the ballista mounts and defensive lips.

Voices echoed down from above.

Then one voice rose above the rest—deep, loud, and carrying the kind of authority that made the other goblins fall silent.

”You said you saw a goblin,” the voice demanded.

Then it continued, sharp and impatient.

”Where is he?”

”Yes, I see. Not only me see. One, two, three, us see.”

”I no see.”

”I no talk about you! One, two, three me see!”

”I no see either.”

”He sees. He tells lies.”

”That’s not the question I asked you, fool!”

”I see goblin for sure. Goblin gone now. But I sure I see goblin with one two three.”

”We no see.”

”Me no see at all.”

I stood there beneath the wall, listening to the chaos unfold above me, and I couldn’t stop the quiet laugh that slipped out.

The exchange was a mess of denial and accusation, each goblin scrambling to shift responsibility away from himself. It was painfully obvious what was happening. Some of them had definitely seen me. Others likely had as well, but were now pretending they hadn’t in order to avoid the captain’s wrath. And the poor scout who had first reported me was being slowly sacrificed as the convenient liar.

Up on the wall, the one who seemed to be in charge had clearly reached the limit of his patience. He was larger than the others, with broader shoulders, heavier armor layered across his torso and thighs. His posture carried authority, not because of elegance, but because the others instinctively gave him space.

He exhaled sharply through his nose, clearly at the end of his tolerance, and drew his weapon—an axe reinforced with iron bands, its blade chipped from use, stepping toward the goblin who had made the initial report,

His grip tightened around the axe, and he shifted his weight forward as though genuinely considering making an example out of the unfortunate scout who had reported my presence.

And that was when I decided to make my presence known.

I stepped out from the cover of the tree line and into the open clearing before the wall, no longer bothering to remain hidden, making my presence unmistakably known.

And the goblin who had made the report spotted me immediately as she was desperately searching to save his life.

”Oh!” the goblin who had made the report exclaimed, his relief immediate and exaggerated. He leaned over the defensive lip and pointed down at me as if I were some rare artifact he had been desperately trying to prove existed. ”See! I see invader!”

The others glanced at him, then back at me.

The captain turned slowly and followed the direction of the pointing finger.

He was large for a goblin. His frame was dense, muscles layered thickly over bone in a way that suggested both natural power and disciplined conditioning. The armor he wore wasn’t decorative; it had weight to it, reinforced at the shoulders and chest. His posture was grounded, balanced.

I activated [Analyze].

[Grakk – Level 49]

I blinked once.

Level forty-nine and also not a Chosen.

That was… rather boring.

I had half-expected someone as powerful as a chosen to show up at the mention of an intruder. But this captain, despite his build and apparent authority, was simply a high-level warrior.

Strong.

But not special.
