150 Chapter 150 - 150: 150 - Fugaku’s Challenge!! 2026-11-03

Five days after the Chunin Exams’ main event ended, the Ninja Academy’s recruitment began in earnest.

The process moved with remarkable speed—so fast, in fact, that only two days later the final list of accepted instructors was posted.

Among the eight new teaching positions, five bore the unmistakable surname Uchiha.

The Uchiha Clan’s sudden entry into the Academy—bypassing the usual path of the Police Force—sent ripples through every major clan in Konoha.

”Did the Village yield to the Uchiha?”

”Or did the Uchiha finally compromise behind the scenes?”

”Is Konoha’s political tide shifting?”

Speculation spread like wildfire.

But inside the Uchiha compound, the mood was entirely different—excitement, pride, barely concealed elation.

That excitement exploded with the second wave of news: Uchiha Itachi, along with three other young elites, had joined the Anbu.

This was already the second squad.

Military Police Force. Ninja Academy. Anbu.

The Uchiha were embedding themselves into Konoha’s key structures at a pace the village hadn’t seen in decades.

That evening, Fugaku convened the core members of the Police Force at the clan leader’s residence.

Most attendees arrived with visible enthusiasm—though a handful wore stiff, uneasy expressions.

Fugaku began slowly.

”First, the Village opened Anbu positions to us. Now, our clan members are entering the Ninja Academy as instructors.”

All attention locked onto him.

”As a corresponding gesture of sincerity,” he continued, ”we must respond appropriately.”

”The Military Police Force will soon welcome four non-Uchiha members.”

The words dropped into the room like a kunai.

A heartbeat of stunned silence—

Then the meeting erupted.

”WHAT?!”

”Outsiders in the Military Police Force? Impossible!”

”Clan Head! This is a trap by the Village—they want to weaken us, dilute our authority! The Police Force is the Uchiha’s pride!”

Several radicals shot to their feet, shouting over one another.

”We’ve only just begun making progress in other departments—why should we surrender positions now?! This is unreasonable!”

The noise swelled, fierce and chaotic. Fugaku said nothing yet; he let the storm run its course.

Just as the situation was spiraling, Uchiha Yashiro—who had been silently observing—stepped forward.

”Everyone, calm yourselves!”

His voice cut through the uproar. The crowd quieted enough for him to continue.

”Think logically. It is because we yielded these positions that we have gained everything we have now.”

”Ninja Academy—five positions.”

”Anbu—eight positions.”

”This means our clan is no longer chained solely to the police force. Our kids finally have more paths available to them.”

He swept his gaze across both factions.

”If we refuse to give up four slots, do you honestly believe the Village will continue extending opportunities elsewhere?”

Murmurs spread. Even among the skeptical, Yashiro’s words carried weight.

”That… makes sense.”

”This does look like an exchange.”

”Four positions in return for wider influence… Maybe it is worth it.”

Gradually, the room began to split into two clear camps. The radicals were fewer, but their resistance was absolute.

The atmosphere thickened like the air before a lightning storm, teetering on the edge of escalation.

”The Military Police Force is the pride of the Uchiha! We can’t allow outsiders to—”

”It is precisely for the pride of the Uchiha.”

Fugaku cut in, his voice suddenly cold and resonant.

”that this must be done.”

The room fell silent.

Every gaze snapped back to the Clan Head—only this time, what they saw made their breath hitch.

A deep crimson flared in Fugaku’s eyes.

The tomoe spun, twisted—and bloomed into a far more complex pattern.

Mangekyō Sharingan.

Several elders visibly stiffened.

Fugaku’s gaze swept across the dissenters, sharp as a drawn blade.

”This is the price we pay for the Uchiha’s future.”

”This is not a negotiation. Not a request.”

”It is a decision.”

His Mangekyō bore down on the radical faction, pressure thick enough to feel in the lungs.

”If there are any who still refuse—”

He leaned forward slightly.

”—then let your eyes speak to mine.”

The room froze. No one met his gaze.

No one dared.

Itachi informed Roshi of Fugaku’s decisive ”unification” of opinion, and naturally, the report reached Tsunade as well.

From that point, progress became much smoother.

Once the Hyuga Clan received formal confirmation, they immediately selected four branch members to join the Police Force. The integration phase began without major incident.

Over the next two days, however, Tsunade could clearly feel the subtle pressure and probing from other clans.

From the village’s standpoint, allowing a few Uchiha into the Academy was entirely reasonable—especially since every chosen candidate had undergone strict vetting.

But to the other clans?

It looked like the Village was bending over backwards to appease the Uchiha.

Positions were limited. Influence was limited.

The Uchiha already monopolized the Police Force, and now they were stepping into the Academy, Administrative Department, and Anbu—with the approval of the Hokage’s office.

Without a convincing explanation, dissatisfaction was unavoidable.

But then another piece of news spread:

”Four Hyuga have joined the Police Force.”

And just like that, the whispering stopped.

The other clans finally understood.

This wasn’t favoritism. This was restructuring. A rebalancing of power.

”Once the first opening is made,” Roshi said calmly, ”the resistance to adding more non-Uchiha officers will drop sharply.”

Tsunade stretched lazily, though she was still listening carefully to Roshi’s words.

”We wait until the Hyuga settle in. Then, we rotate in a few from the Aburame, Inuzuka, and other reliable clans.”

”Eventually,” she continued, ”the Uchiha should hold around one-third of the total police force positions.”

”And we distribute the rest across the Academy, Administration, Anbu… enough to keep them integrated and stable. A proper flow system.”

Given the complexity of the village’s political network, she estimated it would take several more years of careful management before everything stabilized without backlash.

Just then, a thought struck her. Her expression brightened mischievously as she turned to Roshi.

”Oh—by the way, the Old Man has pretty much made up his mind. He’s preparing to officially step down.”

”It’s convenient the Daimyo is still in the village—saves me a trip to the capital for the transfer of authority.”

She clapped Roshi hard on the shoulder, nearly making him stumble.

”So, Roshi—get ready.”

”Once I take that seat…”

Her grin widened.

”Your good days…will finally begin.”
