This bamboo scroll was none other than the ”Sky Demon Puppet” technique obtained from Old Ground Demon Ghost.

Some time ago, Lin Feng had dispatched people throughout the Black-Corner Region in search of Rank 7 magic cores.

Unfortunately, Rank 7 magic cores were pitifully rare in Black-Corner Region.

Only one had been found at Jia Nan Academy, which he later traded for with some medicinal pills.

Unwilling to give up, he had also rummaged through the collections of Elder Ying Shan and Old Ground Demon Ghost.

The result? Not a single one found.

Fortunately, Lin Feng had been planning ahead—

Well, to be honest, he’d been eyeing this ”Sky Demon Puppet” refining method, which was on par with Heaven Class Dou Techniques, for quite a while now.

When he previously sent people to Horizon City to purchase beast flames for Lin Fei and Xue Mei, he also acquired a few Rank 7 magic cores.

Because of this, he no longer needed to worry about lacking the necessary cores to refine a Dou Zong-level puppet.

With light hands, Lin Feng slowly unrolled the bamboo scroll containing the ”Sky Demon Puppet” technique.

His eyes carefully scanned the blood-red characters written across it.

Thanks to his formidable soul strength, the complex refining process was swiftly and thoroughly engraved into his mind.

”Magic core, corpse, soul… and precious metals to enhance the puppet’s physical toughness… I’ve already gathered quite a lot of these things lately.”

”But just to be safe, I’ll start by practicing on a Dou Huang-level corpse first.”

With that thought, Lin Feng poured some Dou Qi into his storage ring.

He retrieved two Dou Huang-level corpses, two magic cores, two jade bottles, and a portion of metallic materials.

As for the origin of these two corpses? Even Lin Feng himself didn’t know which forces they belonged to.

After all, along his path—from Chu Yun Empire to Mu Lan, Luo Yan Empire, and Black-Corner Region—he had experienced far too many battles and slaughters.

Countless Dou Huangs had perished at his hands, and he didn’t have the time or interest to sort through the details of every one.

His gaze swept across the corpses.

From his estimation, both had possessed mid-tier Dou Huang strength in life.

The two magic cores he brought out were from the same beasts originally intended to be used in crafting Flying Dou Techniques for Xue Mei and the others.

Since he had no use for them otherwise, he figured they could now be used for this puppet refinement.

After confirming the materials were all in order, Lin Feng clenched his hand.

A green flame surged forth.

With a flick of his finger, the flame shot out, enveloping the two corpses.

Their clothing instantly turned to black ash upon contact with the scorching Heavenly Flame.

The terrifying temperature of the Glazed Lotus Heart Flame caused the corpses to turn fiery red.

As the fire continued to burn, thin wisps of barely noticeable black smoke began to seep out of the corpses after some time.

These were traces of corpse qi—a type of aura left behind after death, imbued with a faint remnant of the individual’s will.

If this corpse qi wasn’t completely expelled, it could cause problems during puppet refinement.

Thus, these so-called corpse auras had to be thoroughly purified.

The temperature of the flame was controlled with extreme precision by Lin Feng—

Hot enough to force the corpse qi out, yet not hot enough to incinerate the body entirely.

After all, he had been cultivating a Heavenly Flame for a long time, and used it frequently.

Combined with his mastery of the Five Ring Flame Expelling Technique, an exquisite flame control technique, his manipulation of Heavenly Flame was now highly refined and precise.

The green flame continued its purification for over two hours,

Until the last wisp of corpse qi finally dissipated into the air.

Lin Feng’s eyes flashed. With a flick of his fingers, two blasts of energy shot forth.

They struck the corpses directly in the chest and forehead, each blasting a fist-sized hole in those areas.

Though two gaping holes had been blasted into the corpses, not a single drop of blood flowed out.

This was because all the blood within the bodies had already been completely evaporated during the corpse purification process.

Now, the two corpses had shrunk significantly after being scorched and refined.

Their surface skin had turned into a cold, pale gray hue.

Due to the complete loss of bodily fluids, the skin clung tightly to the withered muscles beneath, making the hands appear unusually long and thin—

Like a pair of razor-sharp daggers.

Having completed this step, Lin Feng raised his hand.

A purple and white magic core floated up from the ground and, under his precise control, slotted cleanly into the two chest cavities.

Then, with another wave of his hand, two jade bottles flew into his grasp.

Each of these bottles radiated faint soul fluctuations—

Inside them were two Dou Huang-level souls.

As for whether they belonged to the original owners of these corpses, Lin Feng had no way of knowing.

Without hesitation, he extracted the souls.

He didn’t bother listening to what they might be trying to say, and instead immediately released his Heavenly Flame, burning them relentlessly.

Moments later, once he saw that the intelligence within the souls had been completely incinerated, Lin Feng lightly flicked his wrist, and each soul was tossed directly into the forehead cavities of the corpses.

As soon as the souls entered, the two corpses suddenly opened their eyes.

Their once-empty eye sockets now glowed with a pure, pitch-black light!

But Lin Feng had no time to spare.

With a quick wave of his hand, three streams of green flame shot forth— two of them continued tempering the corpses, ensuring the souls would fully fuse with the bodies.

The third flame swept up all the metallic materials nearby, encasing them in mid-air.

The terrifying heat of the Glazed Lotus Heart Flame began melting the metals, little by little.

Several days passed.

By then, all of the floating metals had been completely refined into a single ball of dark-golden liquid.

The molten metal flowed gracefully within the fire, emitting a strange, flickering luster.

Gazing at the two corpses before him, Lin Feng’s hands swiftly formed a peculiar hand seal.

Then, with a sharp shout, he let out a strange incantation from his mouth.

The moment the chant rang out, the corpses on the ground violently trembled.

The souls hovering above their foreheads were suddenly shattered by an invisible force—

They broke apart into countless tiny fragments of light.

Those shimmering soul fragments scattered, seeping into every inch of the corpses’ bodies.

At the exact same moment the souls shattered into light, the magic cores embedded in their chests let out a faint hum.

Suddenly, waves of violent energy surged outward from within, like a raging flood crashing through a dam.

The energy quickly spread through the meridians of the corpses.

As both the soul fragments fused and the magic core power exploded, the gray-white hue covering the bodies grew even more pronounced.

Meanwhile, their bodies continued to shrink ever so slightly.

A powerful, emotionless aura abruptly burst forth from the two corpses!

”Five-Star Dou Huang level aura… Looks like these two were probably around Six-Star Dou Huang in life.”

Feeling the energy radiating from the now-animated corpses, Lin Feng’s eyes gleamed as he chuckled softly.
