Chapter 170: Chapter 135:

Thinking of this, Naoki temporarily set the matter aside.

His gaze turned to the farmland.

At this moment, the farmland area was completely shrouded in a rich green glow.

Three Gogoats stood at the three corners of the farm, each using Grassy Terrain from different angles, to ensure every crop received adequate care.

Watching this scene, Naoki was filled with anticipation: ”I wonder what kind of magical crops the Gogoats will cultivate.”

Will it be glowing tomatoes or icy watermelons like in the games? Or perhaps giant crops like those in Stardew Valley?

If it’s the former, that’s fine.

If it’s the latter, then one watermelon might be enough to last them several weeks.

Naoki stood and watched for a while, then got up and walked across the ranch to the pasture in the southwest corner of the ranch.

He planned to develop a Berry Garden here.

Although he had already planted a few in the farmland, their numbers were too few.

These Berries are not only for making delicious Poffins but can also be juiced and fed to wild Pokemon.

Like the group of Psyducks across the river.

Psyduck is also very cute, and building a good relationship with them might even lead to hiring them to help in the future.

Just like the Junimos in Stardew Valley, or the seven dwarfs in Harvest Moon, they could help harvest crops.

Thinking of this, Naoki roughly inspected the environment of this area.

If he wanted to develop an orchard here, he must first remove the grass to prevent it from competing for nutrients with the seedlings.

Speaking of tree planting, Naoki suddenly remembered something amusing about Aggron, a Pokemon with a Rock Type and Steel Type.

It’s said that Aggron patrols the mountains continuously, and when they find the mountains becoming barren, they will tirelessly transport soil and plant seedlings, keeping their territory neat and tidy.

Such a strong and large beast-like Pokemon yet possessing a humble and unpretentious hobby like an old farmhand.

One must say, Aggron’s kind of Pokemon is quite interesting, with a certain charm in its contrasting nature.

”It would be great to capture one and have it help manage my Berry Garden,” Naoki thought.

However, unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any Aggron in the Paldea Region.

Though there are some in the neighboring Galar Region, he doesn’t have time to go there now.

Just as Naoki was pondering this, a Butterfree flew over to report:

”Fufu!”

”What’s up?” Naoki looked over and, seeing Butterfree’s appearance, guessed: ”Is there a guest visiting the ranch?”

”Fufu~” Butterfree nodded slightly.

Hmm? Naoki was somewhat surprised.

Who would be visiting the ranch this early in the morning?

He lifted his foot and returned to the front with Butterfree.

Soon, Naoki saw a timid figure in front of the ranch gate.

It was a girl around sixteen or seventeen years old, with short purple hair, squatting in front of the ranch with her ears covered and eyes closed, like a little mouse, muttering something to herself.

”Hello!” Naoki slightly raised his eyebrows and greeted her.

But she didn’t respond.

So he walked over, and only when he was close could he hear what the girl was saying.

She seemed frightened, muttering continuously, ”You can’t see me, you can’t see me, you can’t see me.”

Naoki: ”...”

”Hello? Can you hear me?” Naoki waved his hand.

Seeing no response from the girl, he asked the nearby Alcremie to tap her shoulder as a reminder.

Alcremie did so, happily stepping forward and patting the girl’s shoulder with its small hand.

”Maa~”

But the next second, the girl shrieked as if startled, then fell back onto the grass.

Seeing she could hear, Naoki asked again: ”Hello? Do you need help?”

”Ah! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to disturb you! Please forgive me!” The girl quickly stood up from the ground, apologizing repeatedly.

Naoki was utterly baffled.

Just then, a man came running from not far away.

He was a slightly plump middle-aged man with brown hair, wearing a brown shirt.

Naoki recognized his identity.

He was Elo, owner of the town’s seed store.

Elo ran up, holding the girl and comforting her: ”It’s okay, it’s okay now!”

Then he explained to Naoki: ”I’m very sorry, this is my daughter Bell. Because she experienced something as a child, she’s been afraid to go out and has been staying indoors ever since.”

”I just wanted her to try interacting with the outside world today, to come and inform the nearby ranchers that Elo Seed Store has received a new batch of Berry Seedlings, but as you can see, it failed...”

Elo sighed, looking at the girl beside him with a face full of worry.

He had been following closely out of concern.

Naoki understood the situation, realizing what was going on.

He didn’t mind much, only saying, ”Being so afraid of the outside world must be due to psychological factors, right?”

He didn’t know much about such matters.

Elo nodded, looking troubled: ”Yes, we’ve invited psychologists for treatment before, but it hasn’t been effective.”
