Wizard: My Skills Can Infinitely Break Through

He rose and walked to the window, pulling aside the curtain to glance outside.

The night was deep, and the street was empty.

”Wisteria Lane is in the eastern part of the city, not far from your clan’s estate. The commotion caused by a Level Two Wizard would inevitably alert the Elder Council, and we wouldn’t be able to deny involvement.”

He dropped the curtain and turned, walking back to the low table.

”I, however, have a better idea.”

Edwin looked up. ”What idea?”

”We start with Titus Clan Leader.”

Collins sat down again, leaning forward slightly.

”Although your Clan Leader Titus’s contamination has stabilized, he hasn’t woken up yet.”

”What if we pull some strings and make the Elder Council suspect... that there’s a problem with Ian’s Purification?”

His eyes darkened, and his voice dropped even lower.

”Or even... that he intentionally caused the contamination in the first place?”

The moment he finished speaking, the temperature in the room seemed to plummet.

It wasn’t a true drop in temperature, but an icy killing intent that filled the air.

Edwin stared at Collins as if looking at a madman.

”Collins...”

He spoke slowly, ”Are you serious?”

Just the day before yesterday, an Abyssal contamination broke out in Burning Canyon, alarming the entire Eastern Territory.

And now, he wanted to drag the Abyss into this again...

Warning bells screamed in Edwin’s mind. He was starting to regret calling Collins here.

’What the hell is this guy trying to do?’

Beside him, Adrian’s expression also turned grim.

He glared at Collins, his fingertips trembling as if he was about to strike at any moment.

If they didn’t still need this ”outside help,” he would have probably already launched a Witchcraft spell at him.

Collins noticed their expressions, and his face froze for a moment.

Then he broke into a smile, as if he had just been joking.

”Ahem! Don’t be so hasty.”

He waved his hand, picked up his wine glass, and took another sip.

”I was just suggesting an idea. If it won’t work, then forget it.”

He set down the glass, his fingertips tapping lightly on the tabletop.

”Actually... there is a more reliable way.”

Edwin didn’t speak, just watched him. ”Go on.”

”We start with the clan’s election rules.”

”It’s almost time for the Honored Guest Elders’ review. Given Ian’s skills and contributions, this review should be just a formality.”

”But just because it’s a formality... doesn’t mean we can’t make an issue of it.”

He looked at Edwin. ”Don’t you have an Elder backing you?”

Edwin lowered his head in thought. Although the two Elders, Soron and Darcy, leaned toward Aidele, there were... seven other Elders in the clan.

One of them had very close ties with their branch of the family.

”If we submit some materials, and that Elder is willing to step forward and ’raise appropriate questions’ during the review...”

Collins’s voice was soft, as if he were whispering a secret.

”Aidele has the upper hand right now, but if ’her Honored Guest Elder is problematic’...”

”Both her contributions and her credibility will be affected.”

He paused before adding, ”Of course, she’s already built up significant momentum, so it’s impossible to take her down in one blow.”

”But it will be enough to slow her down and weaken some of her influence.”

Adrian frowned. ”What’s the use of that?”

”It’s useful.” Collins nodded, his gaze firm.

”There are still two years until the final decision. That’s a long time.”

In a Clan Leader competition within a major clan, no one knows what might change until the very end.

”The only thing you need to worry about is Titus Clan Leader waking up ahead of schedule.”

He looked at the two of them, his gaze profound.

”As long as Titus remains unconscious, you still have a chance.”

A brief silence fell over the room.

The embers in the fireplace died out completely, leaving only the occasional sound of wind from outside the window.

Edwin closed his eyes, his mind racing as he calculated the possibilities.

’An Elder steps forward, questions the review...’

’It sounds feasible, but why is Collins so enthusiastic about this?’

’Are the tariffs from three trade routes worth him putting in so much effort and taking such a huge risk?’

He opened his eyes and looked at Collins. ”And the second step?”

Collins let out a soft laugh, full of the confidence of a master strategist.

”The second step... is to kill with a borrowed knife.” He leaned forward, his voice dropping even lower.

”If we can make Ian ’willingly expose’ certain secrets...”

”For example... that he’s not a Level Two Initial Stage Wizard at all, but has been hiding his true strength. Or... that there’s something wrong with his background.”

Adrian frowned. ”How do you know he’s hiding his strength?”

Collins sneered, a glint of coldness in his eyes.

”Someone who can handle a Level Three Abyssal contamination... you really believe he’s only at the Level Two Initial Stage?”

”Whether he’s hiding it or not... it’s enough for us to make it *seem* like he is.”

The warning bells in Edwin’s mind rang again. Collins seemed... overly focused on Ian.

From the minor conflict on the Skybound to now wanting to eliminate him at all costs...

’What happened in between that I don’t know about?’

Collins must have known his actions would arouse the two brothers’ suspicions.

Yet he did it anyway, and even seemed... somewhat desperate.

He stared at Collins, trying to read something from his face.

But Collins’s expression was natural, his eyes calm. He betrayed nothing.

Collins leaned back in his chair again, his posture relaxed as he looked at Edwin.

”A Wild Wizard of unknown origin, hiding his true strength, gets close to the Clan Leader’s daughter... What are his intentions? The Elder Council will definitely launch a thorough investigation.”

He paused, the corner of his mouth curling into a cold smirk.

”At that point, we won’t even need to lift a finger.”

The room fell silent once more. Edwin closed his eyes, weighing the pros and cons in his mind.

’Question the review, spread rumors, get an Elder involved...’

’The three steps seemed interlinked and methodical, but...’

He opened his eyes and looked at Collins. ”How would we do it, exactly? Explain in detail.”

Collins smiled, a brilliant, beaming smile.

”You’ll handle things internally. Spread rumors within the clan that ’Ian is suspicious,’ bribe a few servants, and have them testify at the right moment.”
