Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Upon hearing this, Zhao Rong immediately dropped the bun in his hand on the ground. Recalling the plot of the New Dragon Gate Inn, he dry-heaved a couple of times and said:

”Jin Xiangyu, you better take these buns away,

because we’ve seen the movie and know what kind of meat you’ve stuffed inside…”

Upon hearing this, Jin Xiangyu was startled. He quickly ordered the staff to take the buns away and thought to himself:

Who are these people, exactly?

How do they seem like prophets, knowing everything?

The hideously ugly assistant over there knew my name was Jin Xiangyu the first time he saw me…

This woman right here, on her first visit to my Dragon Gate Inn, knows that my meat buns aren’t filled with pork but with high-grade animal meat…

Thinking of this, Jin Xiangyu became increasingly frightened,

he quietly instructed the nearby cook, saying:

”Although our Dragon Gate Inn is a shady establishment,

these days, we must not kill anyone, especially not make human meat barbecued buns…

because five godlike people have come to our inn,

they seem to have the ability to foresee the future…”

Upon hearing this, the staff in the inn immediately took away the human meat barbecued buns and switched them with oil drizzled noodles.

Although the oil drizzled noodles smelled delicious,

the thought of the cooking scenes from the New Dragon Gate Inn movie made Zhao Rong and his group lose their appetite.

So Zhao Rong took out several packs of Master Kong braised beef noodles, and they began making instant noodles together.

And when Zhao Rong’s group of five finished making instant noodles and started eating,

Jin Xiangyu standing at the side was completely stunned,

unable to understand instant noodles, he said:

”Dear folks, where exactly are you from?

How come the food you eat is so unique?”

Zhao Rong smiled and told Jin Xiangyu:

”Madam, we are people from the 21st century,

and we have watched your period’s story unfold in the movie New Dragon Gate Inn…”

Miss Lili told Jin Xiangyu:

”Jin Xiangyu, your New Dragon Gate Inn is actually a shady establishment, where guests are killed and turned into meat buns…”

Upon hearing this, Jin Xiangyu broke into a cold sweat,

and thought to himself:

Is this beautiful woman a deity?

How does she know that my establishment is shady,

and that we kill guests and turn them into meat buns?

Yu Lan continued, saying:

”Jin Xiangyu, after a guest named Zhou Huai’an came to your inn, you developed a crush on him,

and after battling the Eastern Depot eunuch Cao Shaoqing, you burned down this Dragon Gate Inn and followed Zhou Huai’an to explore the world…”

Upon hearing this, Jin Xiangyu laughed heartily,

looking at the scholar in the distance, he said:

”Miss, stop joking, there’s no way I would fall for that scholar,

if I were to like a man, I’d prefer Zhao Rong, standing in front of me…”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Rong while eating Master Kong braised beef noodles, advised Jin Xiangyu, saying:

”Jin Xiangyu, you should still fancy Zhou Huai’an,

otherwise, Director Tsui Hark wouldn’t be able to create such a classic movie as New Dragon Gate Inn…”

Xuelian further told Jin Xiangyu, saying:

”Jin Xiangyu, soon there’s going to be a major battle in your inn…”

When Jin Xiangyu finished hearing the ladies’ words,

he became increasingly frightened and quietly told Zhao Rong, saying:

”Brother Zhao Rong, you know, when Zhou Huai’an and the woman named Qiu Moyan arrived at my Dragon Gate Inn,

several Eastern Depot eunuchs tailed behind and entered my inn…

Could it be that Zhou Huai’an and Qiu Moyan are about to engage in a battle with those Eastern Depot eunuchs?”

Zhao Rong told Jin Xiangyu, saying:

”Not only is there going to be a battle in your inn,

but it’s going to be a life-or-death battle…”

Before Zhao Rong could finish, many knife-wielding people burst through the door.

Although they pretended to be guests upon entering,

Zhao Rong while recalling the film’s plot, told the innkeeper Jin Xiangyu, saying:

”Jin Xiangyu, have you seen these people?

They are all Eastern Depot eunuchs, followers of Cao Shaoqin…”

Miss Lili further told Jin Xiangyu, saying:

”These people have been secretly trailing Qiu Moyan all along…”

Yu Lan added, saying:

”In the middle years of the Ming Dynasty, during the reign of Emperor Tianshun, Cao Shaoqin, the Grand Eunuch of the Eastern Depot, framed the Minister of War Yang Yuxuan and caused his death. He uses the exile of Yang’s children as bait to lure out Yang Yuxuan’s subordinate Zhou Huai’an, attempting to capture all of his old followers at once…

Therefore, the battle about to happen in your Dragon Gate Inn is between Zhou Huai’an and the Grand Eunuch Cao Shaoqing…”

Xuelian, while recalling the movie’s plot, informed Jin Xiangyu, saying:

”Jin Xiangyu, there’s a secret passage in your inn leading to the edge of the desert, right?”

Upon hearing this, Jin Xiangyu was astounded, and fright overtook him as he said:

”Originally, when I had the Dragon Gate Inn built, only I knew about the escape passage beneath the inn,

how did you people know about the secret passage beneath my inn?”

The assistant laughed wildly, saying:

”Jin Xiangyu, haven’t I already told you?

We are people from the future, and we watched the movie based on your story,

so we know what’s going to happen…”

Jin Xiangyu, while wiping cold sweat from his forehead, sought the advice of Zhao Rong and his group of five, saying:

”Dear folks, I took a loan of over a million Silver Tael to open this Dragon Gate Inn,

if it gets smashed or burned down,

I’ll be ruined…

So please, guide me on how to prevent my Dragon Gate Inn from being destroyed, and to avoid this battle…”

Zhao Rong replied to Jin Xiangyu, saying:

”Honestly, I really don’t know how to prevent this battle,

because your story has already happened…”

Miss Lili told Jin Xiangyu, saying:

”Next, Zhou Huai’an must seek you out to pursue you, pretending to marry you, in order to discover the location of the secret passage beneath the Dragon Gate Inn, to save Yang Yuxuan’s orphaned children from the Eastern Depot eunuchs…

And once Zhou Huai’an discovers the secret passage beneath the Dragon Gate Inn,

he will leave the inn with Qiu Moyan and Yang’s orphaned children…”

Upon hearing Miss Lili’s mystical explanation,

Jin Xiangyu was skeptical, saying:

”I don’t believe that drunken scholar has the guts to pursue me, Jin Xiangyu?”

However, before Jin Xiangyu could finish, Zhou Huai’an wiped his mouth and walked over to Jin Xiangyu, smilingly saying:

”Beauty, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in the world…

If you’re willing, I’ll marry you…”

With those words, Zhou Huai’an thought to himself:

From the moment the innkeeper saw me, I noticed his affectionate gaze and knew he developed a crush on me.

So now, with a casual marriage proposal, I can win Jin Xiangyu’s heart,

then uncover the secret passage to save Yang’s orphaned children…

But before Zhou Huai’an could finish, Jin Xiangyu promptly rejected him,

saying:

”Sorry, Zhou Huai’an, I did find you appealing at first,

but ever since I met Brother Zhao Rong, I’ve come to prefer Brother Zhao Rong over you…”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Huai’an fell to the ground,

thinking to himself:

Darn it, if I can’t woo this woman, how can I uncover the underground passage and lead Yang Yuxuan’s orphaned children out of the Eastern Depot eunuchs’ encirclement?
