Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

Qin Yu cast an inquisitive glance at the Heavenly Secret Elder, whose brows were furrowed tightly. He couldn’t understand—if the Sky-Opening Axe was a fake, why couldn’t Qin Yu move it?

There must be something odd about this Sky-Opening Axe! The Heavenly Secret Elder reached out to pick up the axe and began inspecting it nonstop. The design of the axe was rather ordinary.

Because the material used to forge the axe was not refined, the surface of the axe was not very smooth, looking like it was crudely made by a country blacksmith.

Yet the Heavenly Secret Elder was sure that this axe was no ordinary one. Soon, his gaze fell upon the handle of the axe, where he spotted something mysterious!

As a Supreme Elder of the Heavenly Secret Sect, he was particularly sensitive to mechanisms!

In the beginning, the Heavenly Secret Elder thought that the patterns on the handle were just carvings or decorations, but upon a closer look, he became excited!

”Qin Yu! I’ve found something! There is a mechanism here!”

Hmm? The words of the Heavenly Secret Elder brightened everyone’s eyes, and they all widened their gaze.

”A mechanism? What kind of mechanism?”

Qin Yu became excited. If he could use the Sky-Opening Axe, how awesome would that be?

”See here? There are scales. If I’m not mistaken, these scales can control the weight of the Sky-Opening Axe!”

The Heavenly Secret Elder looked intensely at Qin Yu, thinking that if Qin Yu obtained the Sky-Opening Axe,

his path to enlightenment would be much more assured!

”Oh? Let Grandpa Yang try it and see if it works.” Qin Yu suppressed the excitement in his heart, watching the Heavenly Secret Elder with a tense face.

The Heavenly Secret Elder took a deep breath and gently manipulated the pattern on the handle, and as he expected, the pattern was movable!

With a click, the pattern moved a small notch.

Everyone’s eyes widened, and they held their breath lightly, afraid to miss anything! Unfortunately, after the pattern moved, the axe showed no change!

Everyone was disappointed. Lin Haixin pouted and said, ”Grandpa Yang, did you make a mistake? Why do I feel like the axe hasn’t changed at all?”

Qin Yu also furrowed his brows, ”Yes, Grandpa Yang, if it really is the Sky-Opening Axe, and if what you just manipulated really was a mechanism, why didn’t I feel any energy fluctuations?”

Chu Yunhai was also completely baffled, and he was also somewhat uncertain.

This damn thing, is it real or fake?

The Heavenly Secret Elder laughed and said, ”The first Divine Artifact is not something that we mortals can easily tamper with. Qin Yu, you try it and see if the weight of the axe has changed.”

The words of the Heavenly Secret Elder made everyone pause! Yes! The Sky-Opening Axe was completely ineffective against them, only Qin Yu couldn’t move it! If the mechanism the Heavenly Secret Elder just fiddled with was real.

In Qin Yu’s hands, the weight of the axe would definitely change!

Qin Yu nodded vigorously, ”Okay! I’ll try it, everyone step back a bit, in case of accidental injury!”

The Heavenly Secret Elder laughed, ”Qin Yu, you don’t need to be nervous, if it feels wrong, just let go immediately. The Sky-Opening Axe only feels heavy in your hands.”

Qin Yu nodded, his expression relaxing a lot, ”Grandpa Yang is right, I was overthinking it.”

”Give it a try then.”

The Heavenly Secret Elder handed the Sky-Opening Axe to Qin Yu. Although his tone was relaxed, his trembling arms revealed that the Heavenly Secret Elder was also far from calm.

Qin Yu took the axe and suddenly felt the weight of the axe increase! Without hesitation, Qin Yu let go, and with a clang, the Sky-Opening Axe fell to the ground.

”What happened? Is it still very heavy?” The Heavenly Secret Elder furrowed his brows, a look of disappointment on his face.
