Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

526: Chapter 0526: Brake Failure 526: Chapter 0526: Brake Failure Qu Xiaoting had already driven away, but Su Ziyan hadn’t moved, as she was waiting for Qin Yu.

After all that had happened these days, Su Ziyan’s feelings for Qin Yu had changed significantly.

“Wife, what are you daydreaming about?” It wasn’t until Qin Yu took his seat in the passenger’s side that Su Ziyan even noticed him, still staring ahead with a silly smile on her face.

“Ah?

Nothing!

You’re back?

I just fell asleep.” Su Ziyan hurriedly started the car and sped away.

Wen Zihua stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Luo Zhu Grand Hotel, his expression blank as he watched the black Mercedes speed off, several managers from the Bilang Sect’s Luo City branch standing before him.

“Is everything arranged?” Wen Zihua’s tone was very cold.

“Young Master, rest assured, Qin Yu and Su Ziyan definitely won’t be able to make it home!

Also, Miss Qu will safely return to the Luo Zhu Grand Hotel.”

“Excellent!”

…

Qin Yu was so gentle with other girls, he’d surely be even better with her as his official wife!

Su Ziyan was already entertaining the idea of becoming a real married couple with Qin Yu!

Because she was in a good mood, Su Ziyan was driving fast.

For some reason, Qin Yu was very anxious, always feeling like something was going to happen!

He looked around, but discovered nothing!

Right at that moment, Su Ziyan suddenly let out a scream, “Husband!

The brakes are broken!”

With a whoosh, Qin Yu’s scalp tingled!

So the problem was with the car!

“Wife!

Don’t panic, let go of the accelerator!

Let go of the steering wheel!” As he spoke, Qin Yu quickly unbuckled his seat belt!

Qin Yu’s hands moved incredibly fast, lightning-like as he unbuckled Su Ziyan’s seatbelt and swapped their positions.

Having taken the driver’s seat, Qin Yu was extremely annoyed.

There was a traffic light fifty meters ahead!

If he accelerated, he could make it through before the light turned red!

Of course, accelerating would make the car’s speed even more uncontrollable!

If he could brake, he could stop before the red light.

But now, with the brakes failing, Qin Yu had no choice but to step on the gas!

Roaring!

The Mercedes’ speed increased even further!

Su Ziyan bit her lip tightly, not saying a word, fearing she might distract Qin Yu!

Luckily, Qin Yu had calculated well, and just before the red light appeared, he sped through the traffic signal going over 160 mph!

Qin Yu exhaled a breath of relief, it seemed he and Ziyan might not die after all!

Qin Yu let off the accelerator and maintained control of the steering wheel, narrowly overtaking other vehicles on the road as friction slowed the car’s speed.

Just as Qin Yu and Su Ziyan were about to breathe a sigh of relief, Qin Yu’s face suddenly changed!

Several business vans suddenly appeared behind them!

One of the vans had its window down, and a head was sticking out.

Qin Yu’s eyesight was outstanding; he instantly recognized the intent of these business vans!

Brakes failed and being chased down!

Had they reached a dead end today?

If it were just him, he could simply jump out of the car!

But there was Su Ziyan!

He wasn’t confident he could protect Su Ziyan’s safety if they had to jump out.

What to do?

Qin Yu squinted his eyes and pulled out his phone to dial Emilia’s number.

The call connected quickly; “Brother-in-law, what’s up?

Missed my sister so soon?”

“I’m in danger now and need your sister’s help.

My coordinates are…”

Hearing the seriousness in Qin Yu’s voice, Emilia stopped joking and hurriedly told her sister about Qin Yu’s situation.

Upon hearing that Qin Yu was in danger, a bolt of thunder flashed in Sasha’s eyes!

Her hair fluttered wildly in the air!

Sasha slid open the floor-to-ceiling windows in front of her, and she actually took flight into the air!

As if sensing Sasha’s fury, with a crack, the originally clear sky suddenly became covered with dark clouds and heavy rain began to pour down!

Sasha, like a deity in the night rain, glided non-stop through the air.

Her figure flickered a few times, and she quickly arrived above several business cars!

Sasha raised her hand and pointed, and a dazzling bolt of Thunder Light appeared from her fingertips!

Crack!

A bolt of lightning as thick as an adult’s wrist struck down from the sky!

It hit one of the business cars accurately!

Boom!

The business car immediately lost control, spun around, and knocked the other cars into the roadside stones!

Just as Sasha was about to gather another bolt of lightning, an elderly man with a remarkable presence suddenly appeared in front of her!

The old man wore a Taoist robe and held a whisk in his hand.

With a gentle wave, he dispersed the lightning from Sasha’s hand!

“Have you Stark’s forgotten the oath you made?

You must not act recklessly in Dragon Country!

Follow me!”

Sasha’s complexion changed, and she remembered the admonition from her elders.

When going to Dragon Country, she must not act recklessly because there exists a terrifying Sect called Heaven’s Gate!

This Sect has legendary Divine Realm experts who can rival their ancestor, the Sea Emperor!

Even the ancestral Stark had suffered at the hands of Heaven’s Gate!

Clearly, the old man in front of her was an inscrutable supreme expert!

Sasha didn’t even notice how the old man had appeared!

“Elder, I have just awakened and wasn’t aware of the oath.

Please forgive my ignorance this time,” Sasha Stark quickly conceded.

“Regardless of whether you have just awakened, I must take this matter up with the Stark Clan!”

With a whoosh, the two disappeared, and the sky that was densely covered with clouds cleared up in an instant!

Qin Yu didn’t realize that Sasha had been taken away.

He was only aware that the business cars chasing behind him were struck by lightning out of nowhere.

Free from the chase of several business cars, Qin Yu, with his awesome driving skills, managed to drive the car until it stalled.

Having worked on tanks on foreign battlefields, repairing brakes was a trifling matter for Qin Yu, who quickly fixed the brakes, albeit ruining a set of clothes in the process.

Seeing Qin Yu carelessly throw his dirtied clothes to the ground, Su Ziyan picked them up with a pained expression and scolded him, “You extravagant man!

These were designed by Master Karl.

How can you just throw them away like that?”

Not minding the dirt, Su Ziyan picked up the clothes Qin Yu had thrown onto the ground and placed them in the trunk.

Qin Yu chuckled, “It’s the wife who knows how to manage a household!

From now on, all the financial management of our house will be left to my wife!”

“Hmph, good that you know!

This ‘Along the River During the Qingming Festival’ painting also has to be left in my care,” Su Ziyan glanced at the scroll on the back seat of the car.

“Of course!

Everything belongs to my wife,” Qin Yu said with a smile while scratching his head.

“Look at you, all dirty like a mud monkey.

I’ll drive!”

“Alright,” Qin Yu agreed without any fuss, sitting in the passenger seat in just his boxer shorts.

Su Ziyan started the car, and it sped off, heading straight for the prestigious family estates.

It was now past eleven at night, but Mrs.

Zhang was still awake, worried about Qin Yu and Su Ziyan!

Only when she saw the two return together did a relieved smile appear on her face.
