Counterfeit Hero

This was a slap from the bandit army to the Feiyang people, using such a brazen way to showcase their presence. To the Mars people, they understood the underlying meaning more clearly—Mars belongs to the bandit army! This army has never thought of giving up this place! On one hand, they are allies with the Feiyang people; on the other hand, their presence in this airspace is more dominant!

The Suss Fleet’s assault along the Triumph Corridor is no secret to the Mars people, who are well-informed about pirates, mercenaries, and smugglers.

Now, aside from waiting for the final outcome of this battle, everyone is most intrigued by predicting what earth-shattering event the bandit army would commit next. The Suss people want to take control of Mars, but the bandit army is an obstacle that cannot be bypassed!

The planet silently and smoothly rotates amidst the chaos.

A fleet comprised of two aircraft carriers, more than ten battleships, cruisers, and over twenty destroyers departed from Mars No.15 Airport, heading into the vast cosmos. Amidst this special mixed fleet of Feiyang and Chuckna warships, a noticeably dilapidated armed merchant ship stands out.

When it arrived, it was just a rusted, dilapidated armed merchant ship that should have been tossed into a steel furnace. But when it left, it became the center of attention. Everyone knew that the Four War Gods and four young bandit army mech knights, famous from one battle, walked out from the cabin of this armed merchant ship! The eagle and skull emblem on its bow represents a tough and wild group.

Inside the huge central command room of the ”Vast” aircraft carrier, there was a flurry of activity.

Chuckna officers in black uniforms and Feiyang officers in brown uniforms shuttled back and forth with serious expressions. In front of the central control platform, hundreds of screens flickered rapidly. Graphics, data, and text were densely packed. Communications, electronic alerts, switch clicks, and instrument tuning filled the entire oval-shaped, spacious area.

Zhang Pengcheng rubbed his furrowed brow, shifting his gaze from the tactical computer to the top arc of the central command platform.

Facing the large screen atop the command platform, Fatty hung on the railing, peeling an orange with his tongue in front of Margaret’s indignant gaze. The two occasionally exchanged a few words, with Margaret speaking rapidly like a machine gun, while Fatty looked simple and slow.

Zhang Pengcheng couldn’t help but sigh.

This fleet of the 1201th departed from Mars Planet exactly twenty-four hours ago. A day earlier, upon learning about the Suss Fleet’s assault on Mars, Carolina immediately issued a Level 1 combat readiness order and, together with senior members of the Chuckna 12th Fleet, initiated joint operational command according to the Alliance Command Center’s plan.

At the time, Zhang Pengcheng saw Carolina hesitate for only two seconds before adding Tian Xingjian’s name to the list.

As Fatty holds the honorary title of commander of the Mars Front Army’s First Corps, Feiyang neither provided him a team nor did he integrate the bandit army into the Front Army system. Thus, nominally, he is a commander without troops.

However, the impact of this commander without troops and the cards he’s holding are no longer secrets. A single bout was enough to make the Feiyang, Chuckna, and Mars people understand the influence of the bandit army.

The newly established United Command oversees two Combat Departments and one Chief of Staff Department.

The Chief of Staff Department is composed of senior staff selected by both the Feiyang and Chuckna, primarily tasked with coordinating and deploying the overall command of Feiyang Army Combat Department and Chuckna Army Combat Department.

Being a special period and deciding to enhance cooperation with the bandit army, Carolina decisively appointed Tian Xingjian as the Chief of Staff.

This decision was also proposed by Zhang Pengcheng. In his view, for someone who holds significant power and previously commanded the 1201th Fleet to a classic reversal, the Chief of Staff Department’s leadership position seems most fitting for Fatty.

Feiyang officers reacted with surprise and silence to the decision, whereas Chuckna Fleet officers unanimously rejoiced.

The one originally most likely to get this position, Cheng Zhixuan, the former Mars Front Army Chief of Staff, was directly relieved of duties by Carolina and awaits deportation back home under the charge of significant neglect of duty, pending investigation by the Fei Alliance Joint Army Political Department and Chuckna Military Department.

Zhang Pengcheng wasn’t familiar with Cheng Zhixuan, this Colonel stationed by the Chuckna Military Department in the Mars Front Army as Coordinator. He merely felt that the unfolding of events for this Colonel was an exquisite irony. Likely, until he ultimately returns to Chuckna, standing before the expressionless military department special investigator, he wouldn’t understand how he ended up in this situation.

Zhang Pengcheng, naturally, had his sources.

Through the mouth of Su Kezhou, the president of Longxing Association, he could learn enough of the truth.

Overall, Cheng Zhixuan lost miserably. The carefully organized competition ultimately became a stage for the bandit army, and all plans discussed with Fiscella targeting the bandit army eventually became his personal Waterloo.
