Counterfeit Hero

They all appeared, but after all, they were just sects like the Tai Sect and Absolute Kill Stream that were crippled in the Sect War, and some second-rate, third-rate, or even unranked small sects!

The truly top-notch sects, ninety-five percent of them, were in the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance, all in the bandit army!

The Mountain Breaker Sect, Mingxin Sect, Black Dragon Sect, Storm Dao, Huaxing Sect, Thousand Army Sect, Killing Armor Sect... all these were once famous sects on Mars, deeply rooted with superb techniques, countless masters, and unfathomable strength.

In the past, even a core disciple of these sects was a big shot when he went out. Ordinary people could do nothing but look up to them. Children in the Mars Free World practiced hard from an early age, hoping to one day become a member of these prestigious sects. If one was chosen to become a core disciple, it was simply a great event that brought glory to their ancestors!

However, these sects, along with most of the first-rate sects and many second-rate sects like the Phantom Stream, were all scooped up by that Leray fatty. Even the Tai Sect split off a large part of their members, led by their Third Elder, Fourth Elder, and War God Weii Jianshan, to join the fatty, didn’t they?

Those remaining on Mars either opposed the bandit army at the beginning or wanted to join but didn’t have the chance or opportunity.

Although there are many masters among these sects, the total number of Mech Knights above the level of the Mechanical Commander among them is only one-third of that in the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance! Without those renowned sects and famous Mech Knights from the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance, this Mecha tournament looks somewhat lacking in vigor.

Behind the registration desk, the clerk responsible for registration, Odel, raised his wrist to check the time, then turned to look at the two companions beside him.

The two companions, having been exposed to the sun for several hours, were already drowsy and sleepy. The time on their watches had passed half-past five in the afternoon. Although there were quite a few people outside the exhibition center hall, not a single person was left in line waiting for registration. This was already the last day for registration, and registration would close in another half hour.

However, those guys in the distance still looked energetic, chatting in groups and occasionally glancing over here.

Odel, a genuine Mars person, had just joined the newly established Armored Division of the Mars Front Army. He understood well that among the onlookers were both ordinary citizens eager for excitement and people sent by various sects. They stood there just to see if the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance would show up to register.

Odel took a sip of water, directing the portable air conditioner on the table towards himself.

As for that Colonel Cheng Zhixuan from Chuckna, he really found him displeasing. He couldn’t pinpoint what exactly made the guy annoying, but he just felt that Cheng Zhixuan didn’t come across as a straightforward person. He was always gloomy and bossing people around, making everyone resentful.

He spat out the tea leaves in his mouth forcefully, imagining this spit landing on that Chuckna person named Cheng Zhixuan’s face, making him feel much better.

Being ordered by Cheng Zhixuan to stay outside to handle registrations, exposed to the sun for a full seven days, he was already filled with resentment. If he weren’t afraid of being sent to a military court, he would have liked to press Cheng Zhixuan to the ground and beat him up like that Leray fatty did.

The cold air outlet emitted a whirring sound. Spitting out the tea leaves reminded Odel of the fatty that his companions had discussed countless times.

It was said that at noon today, Feiyang soldiers barged into the exchange on Brown Street and directly apprehended a broker named Klaus, forcibly closing the trading market.

This matter had already been spreading wildly across Mars.

If something hadn’t happened, it would be nothing significant, but once it did, rumors and insider information flooded the place.

It was rumored that the old man named Klaus turned out to be an agent of the bandit army! He was caught, the trading market was closed, and it was clear that the Feiyang people intended to target the bandit army. They were here to pick the big targets, and they certainly wouldn’t allow the bandit army to slip out of their control. Since the Leray fatty denied the bandit army was his, they took action with justification!

However, this was ultimately just self-deception.

The Leray people had painstakingly built up this army and conquered this territory, so it was understandable that they wouldn’t want the Feiyang people to take advantage. It was a bit unreasonable for the Feiyang people to seize control of Mars and still not let go of the bandit army’s forces. Yet, this also demonstrated the strength and tactics of the Feiyang people. Otherwise, how could they manage to make these cunning old sects rush to register for the tournament so quickly?

One wonders, back in Mars, after beating Sammon and putting eleven Special Soldiers in the hospital at the base, how the Leray fatty would handle this matter. Judging by the usual conduct of the bandit army, not retaliating would be unthinkable!

As time ticked by, Odel was just about to pick up his cup for a refill when he suddenly noticed a commotion on the distant street. The crowd outside the exhibition center doors parted like waves, and those in the center surged to the two sides of the open space in front of the hall, standing on tiptoe, eagerly looking at the entrance.
