Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 504: Volume 6 Chapter 10 Authorization

”Twelfth Generation Mecha.” Fatty scratched his head, always unable to believe the authenticity of this news. For decades, the Feiyang Republic had always been at the forefront of Mecha research. No one could shake its position. Whether it was the Ninth Generation ”Heaven’s Punishment” or the Tenth Generation ”Divine,” they could both be called benchmarks for mecha of the same level.

Every country would compare their newly developed mecha with those of the Feiyang Republic immediately. Perhaps in some data aspects, these mecha might be higher than the same level of Feiyang Mecha. However, no one dared to claim that their mecha were more advanced than Feiyang Mecha.

Because, to become a benchmark means strength! Especially in the past few decades, from the Fifth Generation Mecha to the Ninth Generation Mecha, it was the Feiyang Republic leading the enhancements level by level. Each generation of mecha was defined by the cross-generation mecha first launched by Feiyang. Their parameters and performance became the recognized standard for each generation of mecha.

But now, in the mecha manufacturing and research industry, the Binart Empire, which had been struggling to catch up behind Feiyang, actually launched the Twelfth Generation Mecha first. This couldn’t be described as unbelievable; it was simply the most bizarre joke in human history.

Fatty wouldn’t believe, no matter how hard you beat him, that this was the technological reserve of the Binart Empire. Over the years, whether in weapons exports or regional conflicts, the mecha strength of the Binart Empire had clearly been at a disadvantage. As the head nation of the Western Alliance, such a situation couldn’t have been pleasant.

Even more incomprehensible was that this war, concerning the life and death of humanity’s two major camps, had erupted for so long, and only now did Binart bring out their Twelfth Generation Mecha. It made no sense either in terms of interests or logic. What had they been doing all this time?

One must know, to dare to be called the Twelfth Generation, or the Twelfth and a Half Generation Mecha as Boswell put it, proved that the comprehensive strength of this mecha had an overwhelming advantage over the Eleventh Generation Mecha of the Feiyang Republic, which hadn’t yet been equipped. And before this, there was no news even of an Eleventh Generation Mecha from the Binart Empire. Could they have been so patient, willing to let Feiyang suppress them for so long?

”What does this have to do with me going to Chuckna?” Fatty was a bit confused.

Boswell said, ”Leray’s Military Academy has already reached a cooperation agreement with Feiyang, Chuckna, Ryan, and several other countries to a certain extent to share mechanical technology and develop mecha capable of competing with the Binart Empire as soon as possible.”

”Sharing?” Fatty frowned.

Boswell nodded and said, ”Yes, the joint development laboratory is located at the Defense Science and Technology Industry College of the Chuckna Red Army First Military University. This is a great learning opportunity for the Federation.”

”What’s in it for them to invite us?” Fatty thought that those Feiyang people were just being full of themselves; if it were up to him, he definitely wouldn’t invite countries still using technology two generations behind to develop anything together.

”This also has something to do with you,” Boswell’s smile was a bit strange, ”They fancy your ’Magic Beast.’”

”’Logic’?” Fatty jumped up, ”They wish! Besides, teacher, you know that a mecha like ’Logic’ couldn’t possibly be mass-produced!”

Boswell waved his hand, ”Of course I know that. That’s why you can’t take your mecha to Chuckna this time. We’ll assemble another ’Magic Beast’ mecha for you to take there. Apart from the materials, we have some other things to contribute. They are also interested in our newly developed special ’Hunters’ and the newly equipped standardized ’Thunderstorm’ in the First Division.”

Russell added on the side, ”This is a research project organized by the Allied General Command. The Binart Empire’s Twelfth Generation Mecha has already seriously threatened the established methods of modern warfare. One could say they have created a new way of combat, transforming the operational style of large-scale armored army group engagements into elite high-efficiency strikes. Even the space fleet will be affected.”

Saying this, Russell swiped his finger across the touch screen on the desk, and a multicolored virtual image rose up. He said to Fatty, ”Look at this. This is the video data provided by the Feiyang Republic about the Twelfth Generation Mecha of the Binart Empire.”

Fatty focused his attention, only to see that the bright light spots in the virtual image quickly dimmed. A vast starry sky appeared. An odd scorpion-shaped fighter was flying towards a cruiser.

The camera was locked onto the scorpion-shaped fighter. Two huge ion engines, like two large pincers of a scorpion, were distributed at the front of the fighter. There were no fixed structures or connections between the engines. Behind and within the engines, two flexible ropes of unknown material were dragging a space mecha.

Fatty was stunned and widened his eyes to look carefully. Sure enough, the body of the scorpion-shaped fighter was actually a mecha! A human-shaped mecha with a black body and a simple, elegant design.

The head of the mecha was designed in the style of a helmet worn by ancient Spartan warriors, with two leaf-shaped shoulder guards on the broad shoulders. The chest of the mecha did not have the traditional transparent cockpit. The entire mecha was hidden in a black, undecorated external armor. The legs were long and powerful.
