The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 877: Chapter 877: Bee Head Star

”The second mission...” Shen Changqing raised his hand, pointing at the route map on the light computer screen, and said in a calm tone, ”The second mission is to go here and capture a star beast called the Black Gold Rat and obtain the teeth of 10 Black Gold Rats of 2-star level or higher.”

Upon hearing Shen Changqing reveal the mission’s content, everyone followed the route map pointed by Shen Changqing’s finger and looked up, pausing for a moment in awe.

Chu Jiaojiao frowned, ”This place is... Bee Head Star?”

Shen Changqing retracted his hand and gently said, ”That’s right. The mission location is Bee Head Star. Due to the habits of the Black Gold Rat, it only likes to live on planets with Black Gold Ore, and the closest planet with abundant Black Gold Ore to Lanyue Star is Bee Head Star.”

Bee Head Star, as the name suggests, the first human to discover this planet found a large number of Black Thorn Bees here. As a social star beast, Black Thorn Bees have a very strong sense of territorial awareness. Once a foreign species enters their range, they will be under mass attack. The first human who discovered this planet almost lost his life. Fortunately, he didn’t actually set foot on the planet. Once he noticed something unusual, he left immediately.

Apart from Black Thorn Bees, this planet also has other kinds of star beasts, one of which is the Black Gold Rat. They live in underground caves, feeding on Black Gold Ore and mostly having no conflicts with Black Thorn Bees. Therefore, they manage to coexist peacefully with them.

...

The Black Gold Ore has numerous uses. The power systems of mechas, battleships, spaceships... all require Black Gold refined from the ore. Of course, the alliance wouldn’t let go of such a treasure trove. As a result, the alliance launched a series of actions and dispatched a group of high-level combat forces led by General Chu Zhan, who was the commander of the First Legion at the time. They killed a peak level 10 Black Thorn Bee Queen that had occupied Bee Head Star for many years and exterminated most of the Black Thorn Bee swarm. Only a few managed to escape or survive. After successfully expelling the Black Thorn Bee swarm, the alliance immediately stationed warriors there and sent mining robots to collect Black Gold Ore.

However, this was a hundred years ago.

After centuries of mining, the Black Gold Ore resources on Bee Head Star have been exhausted. A large number of excavation companies have withdrawn from Bee Head Star, leaving behind only a few people to guard it. As humans gradually left, the Black Thorn Bee swarm, which had been under control on Bee Head Star, somehow began to reproduce in large numbers again. It’s heard that the Bee Queen in this swarm has already evolved to level 4.

A level 4 Bee Queen is very weak to the human high-end combat forces but is a terrifying existence for Ji You and the others. Especially since this level 4 Bee Queen has tens of millions of underlings...

Upon hearing about Bee Head Star, the expressions on the faces of Yue Qiyuan, Yue Qiguang, Chu Jiaojiao, and Ji You were all very serious. Ji You frowned and said, ”Besides Bee Head Star, is there no other place where Black Gold Rats exist?”

”There is.” Yue Qiyuan said with a solemn expression, ”But they’re in other star systems, and all are extremely dangerous. In comparison, the danger on Bee Head Star is actually the lowest, because the Black Thorn Bees there have been eliminated by humans before. Although the Black Thorn Bees show signs of resurgence, the current swarm is one whose numbers the alliance intentionally controls. The most dangerous and powerful Bee Queen is only level 4, while the rest are only level 1 and 2 shrimp soldiers and crab generals, not worth fearing.”

Shen Changqing inserted, ”After consideration, the best place for us to complete the mission is Bee Head Star.”

Ji You frowned, pondering the feasibility.

Yue Qiguang said, ”What’s there to fear about danger? Haven’t we killed level 4 star beasts before?”

Everyone: ”...”

Seeing everyone with slightly speechless expressions, Yue Qiguang lifted his chin and said, ”Isn’t it so?”

Yue Qiyuan raised his hand and rubbed his forehead, ”This level 4 is not the same as those other level 4. This level 4 has tens of thousands of level 1, 2, and 3 behind it!”

Upon hearing this, Yue Qiguang rolled his eyes, saying, ”Dad doesn’t know? But without knowing the danger level, can we avoid danger? What’s there to be afraid of? Just these few words: face it and fight!”

Chu Jiaojiao actually quite agreed with this, waving her fist and said, ”That’s right, just fight! Hiding forever won’t avoid danger. In that case, what’s there to hesitate? If those Black Thorn Bees really show up, just find a way to deal with them!”

The words of the two rash men, Yue Qiguang and Chu Jiaojiao, could be listened to but shouldn’t be used as prime advice. Shen Changqing turned to Ji You and asked, ”Classmate Ji You, what do you think?”

Ji You touched their chin, and after a while, said, ”I support Yue Qiguang and Jiaojiao.”

Shen Changqing: ”...”

Upon hearing this, Yue Qiguang immediately raised an eyebrow, revealing a proud look: ”You fool, you actually have some insight.”

Ji You glanced at him and asked Shen Changqing, ”What is the current scale of the Black Thorn Bee swarm on Bee Head Star? In which areas of the planet are they mainly distributed? What is the current size of the Black Gold Rat population? What’s their distribution location, and the danger level... give us this information to check out.”

Ji You directly asked Shen Changqing because they knew Shen Changqing must have done this groundwork in advance.

Shen Changqing handed over a long-prepared document to everyone present and said, ”According to satellite detection outside Bee Head Star, the current Black Thorn Bee swarm is approximately 10 million, mainly distributed in the warm climate of the Southern Hemisphere. The Black Gold Rats are mostly distributed in the cold climate of the Northern Hemisphere. As long as we prepare in advance, we have a 50% chance of not running into Black Thorn Bees.”

Subsequently, Shen Changqing sent the information he had learned into the light computers of Ji You and others, and continued to describe this information briefly in a steady tone.

Everyone lowered their heads, deep in thought.

After a while, Ji You said, ”How about heading to Bee Head Star?”

Chu Jiaojiao immediately approached but once faced with Ji You’s pitiful face, immediately moved their head away and said, ”No problem, wherever Ji You goes, I go. I’m Ji You’s little caretaker.”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You curled their lips and said, ”Telling lies with your eyes open, aren’t you ashamed?”

Chu Jiaojiao turned their head, chuckled, and said, ”I have money in my pocket to fix your face, rest assured, classmate Ji You, I will spare no effort to restore your resplendent beauty.”

Ji You looked at the brothers Yue Qiguang and Yue Qiyuan.

Yue Qiguang said, ”Just right, I want to see whether it’s the Black Thorn Bee that has what it takes or is it my dad’s fist.”

Yue Qiyuan didn’t say anything, but by looking at Yue Qiyuan’s expression, Ji You knew he would follow Yue Qiguang.

Shen Changqing didn’t wait for Ji You to ask, and proactively said, ”My choice is also the second mission.”

After initially reaching a consensus, everyone turned to Sheng Qingyan in sync. Sheng Qingyan was asleep, with his eyes closed. His fair, pretty face had an imprint pressed on it, with a faint pink trace along the imprint, and just below it, a crystal clear droplet of drool hung at the corner of his mouth...
