The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 850: Chapter 850: Suspicion

Yu Yi, Penny, and others patiently waited. Penny looked up, continuously staring at Ji You. When she saw Ji You and the group deliberately walk to a hidden corner and turn their backs to talk furtively, Penny said, ”What are these people saying? What’s really going on?”

The team member said, ”They don’t want anyone to overhear them. Are they planning an ambush?”

Another member said, ”Everyone be quiet; let me listen carefully.”

The group fell into silence.

A moment later, the team member said, ”I heard a few words, vaguely mentioning ambush and... something else.”

Penny and Yu Yi were taken aback.

Penny frowned and said, ”What exactly were they saying?”

The team member shook his head, beginning to doubt the words he had heard. He said, ”Can’t hear clearly; ambush may not be accurate. It seemed they were talking about food, or maybe how much money they made.”

Yu Yi said, ”Let’s be patient. They’ll slip up eventually. Besides, they only have ten people; we have over two hundred. If we join forces...”

At this point, Yu Yi said, ”Penny, what do the other captains think about the cooperation?”

While checking the trash cans, Penny had another task: contact other strong teams to negotiate that if Ji You’s group harbors malicious intentions, everyone must immediately join forces to resolve it.

Penny contacted six teams in total. Two outright refused, while three were very interested and immediately expressed their desire to cooperate. The other team was indecisive...

Penny said, ”Three teams should be willing to cooperate, but we still need to wait for their response.”

Yu Yi said, ”Hmm, let’s wait five more minutes. If they don’t agree to cooperate, we’ll find our own way to protect ourselves.”

As soon as Yu Yi said this, everyone was shaken. It meant Yu Yi was sure Ji You’s group was up to something, but didn’t know the specific issue, so could only be secretly vigilant?

...

On the other side.

Ji You carried Big Saber, got tired of walking, and randomly found a lawn to sit down. The others followed Ji You and sat down.

Ji You raised her hand, using it as a fan to cool herself off while she pondered.

Chu Jiaojiao whispered, ”They are really cautious; several groups want to cooperate and eventually team up against us.”

Yue Qiguang said, ”Can’t we just eliminate these troublemakers right now?”

Yue Qiyuan rolled his eyes at him, saying, ”Idiot, if you can keep quiet now, then don’t speak.”

Shen Changqing said with a calm face, ”The explosive equipment isn’t enough. If detonated now, we can’t take everyone out in one go.” Ji You continued to dig through the trash; the bombs in the trash cans covered a small area and wouldn’t meet their expectations.

Xuzhou said, ”Should we install a few more bombs? Should I just use the remaining two?” These were the last two kept for emergencies. The entire team had no extra ammunition available, which was why Ji You’s group hadn’t placed more in the lawn square.

Despite Ji You’s group’s impeccable acting skills, the students remained cautious. Mainly, they weren’t stupid and were hard to fool, especially as this was an assessment area impacting their scores and future positions... Everyone was serious.

Ji You hadn’t spoken yet; Zhang Ye shook his head and said, ”No, if you keep digging through the trash, repeating the same action will raise suspicion.”

Xuzhou fell silent upon hearing this.

Lou said, ”I knew Yu Yi was very suspicious before, but didn’t expect him to be this paranoid. We’re performing so hard, yet he still doesn’t believe we aren’t malicious.”

For Lou, acting was really challenging; whenever asked to perform, he forgot his lines, moved awkwardly, and couldn’t deliver a single line.

No other choice, Ji You had him step back and focus on wielding Big Saber.

Lance was similar to Lou and was sent to wield Big Saber too.

Lance said, ”But we do have malicious intent towards them.”

Zhang Ye gave Lance a glare and said, ”That’s because your acting is poor.”

Lance pouted, ”As if your acting is fantastic, you’re also in the Saber team.”

Zhang Ye: ”...”

Zhang Ye, dissatisfied, said, ”My acting’s bad? You know how I got the name ’traitor brother,’ don’t you? By my explosive talent in acting!”

”Cough, cough...” Lou quietly said, ”Enough arguing, acting isn’t the point.”

As they muttered, Ji You suddenly raised her hand, and they immediately stopped talking, looking toward Ji You.

Ji You squinted at the students talking not far away, and said softly, ”Since they plan to unite, let’s dismantle their alliance and create chaos instead; it’ll taste better that way.”

Ji You said, ”Let’s go.”

After she spoke, Ji You walked a few steps and found no one following. She turned around: ”Let’s go!”

Lance scratched his head and asked, ”Ji You, won’t you provide any guidelines or directions?”

Ji You replied, ”Improvise.”

Everyone: ”...”

Lance: ”???” Just a hint would do. This improvisation was really tough, especially since before the plan succeeded, they couldn’t directly attack.

Not only Lance felt troubled, but everyone else did too.

Lou said, ”Let me fight ten at a time, no problem. But improvising will make me bald.”

Ji You rolled her eyes and said to Lance, ”You don’t need to do anything, just continue being a useless team member.”

Lance: ”Okay.”

Ji You turned to Lou, saying, ”You also don’t need to do anything, just be a prop.”

Lou grinned, ”Understood, being a prop is my specialty.”

Ji You then told Zhang Ye, ”Traitor brother, bring out your double-agent skills. Or should I remove this traitor brother title from you?”

Zhang Ye pouted, ”As if I care about it.”

Ji You said, ”Xuzhou.”

Xuzhou lightly clenched his fingers and said, ”I’ll give it a try...”

Ji You smiled, ”Little Zhouzhou really has ambition.”

Xuzhou: ”I’ll try being a prop.”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You was speechless for a moment and pointed toward a place, saying, ”Little Zhouzhou, act according to the situation, understand?”

Xuzhou earnestly said, ”Hmm.”

Seeing her name hadn’t been mentioned, Chu Jiaojiao proactively said, ”Ji You, what do you think I can do?”

Ji You pointed to Yue Qiguang and said, ”When things finally fall apart, immediately team up with Yue Qiguang and take care of Yu Yi and Penny.”
