The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Chasing Light

Chapter 206

Following that, came the footage of General Shen Chi’s combat with the interstellar pirates. General Shen Chi piloted a silver-white Mecha with smooth lines, its body gleaming with a cold radiance. Even more impressive than the Mecha itself was General Shen’s operation of it; his movements were fluid and natural, there was no sense of hesitation at all. Every strike he made landed perfectly on the pirate Mecha, and most importantly, this Mecha could actually transform!

In the midst of evading more than a dozen pirate Mecha, one tried to take advantage of the chaos and escape. Suddenly, General Shen’s Mecha transformed into a mighty eagle with spread wings, swooping down to slap the escaping Mecha out of the sky in mid-flight. This overwhelming image was truly stunning!

Next, General Shen, with his own power, effortlessly defeated over a dozen pirate Mecha.

...

Ji You gaped: ”This Mecha, so cool!”

Xie Lingzhi glanced at country bumpkin Ji You and snorted: ”This is the work of Master Song Qingfeng. Master Song Qingfeng has painstakingly crafted it for over 10 years. It’s called Chasing Light! Chasing Light is one of the Alliance’s top ten Mecha.”

Ji You: ”!!!”

That’s so impressive.

Xie Lingzhi spoke with yearning in her voice: ”The amazing part of Chasing Light is not just its speed. Its parameters have reached the peak of current human technology. Of course, the most important thing is the pilot, General Shen Chi! General Shen Chi is the only one in the All Alliance whose spiritual power has been officially announced to have reached SSS level. It’s said that he could even pilot two Mecha at once!”

Ji You: ”!!!”

He definitely is a pillar of support! A pillar amongst pillars!

Ji You’s eyes widened with a country bumpkin’s shock: ”That’s incredible? How come I’ve never heard of him before?”

How could such a character stay relatively unheard of?

Xie Lingzhi gave Ji You a sideways look, unabashedly contemptuous: ”You’ve been cooped up on the garbage planet all day, of course you don’t know about these things. Besides, these numbers haven’t been widely publicized by the Alliance. General Shen broke through to SSS spiritual power level only recently, you probably haven’t watched the news, right? It was officially announced just last night! It’s said that once spiritual power reaches a certain level, you can indeed control two Mecha at the same time.”

”Of course, whether General Shen can actually do it has not been officially declared by the officials, but a lot of rumors have circulated on Star Network about it.”

Xie Lingzhi apparently knew a lot about these topics, the kind that could be assumed to be an internet addict who spends her days browsing Star Network for gossip, Ji You thought to herself and then asked: ”Is it really possible for one person to pilot two Mecha simultaneously?”

Xie Lingzhi replied: ”Theoretically.”

Xie Chuanqiong spoke up, laughing: ”You, don’t bother with Lingzhi’s nonsense. Even if General Shen’s spiritual power has reached SSS level and he can pilot two Mecha at the same time, nobody would really do that! It’s completely unnecessary. Mecha driving skill is all about focus and concentration. If you handle one well, that’s enough. Having an additional one would inevitably split a portion of your spiritual power, so it’s not very useful.”

Xie Lingzhi opened her mouth, eager to speak: ”How is it not useful? It could be useful in special circumstances, right? Like when facing several enemies at once, having an extra Mecha means extra strength.”

Xie Chuanqiong spoke slowly: ”It’s still a matter of spiritual power. You’ve never really piloted a Mecha and don’t understand the role spiritual power plays in piloting. Anyway, I’m guessing General Shen can indeed pilot two Mecha simultaneously, but it probably won’t have much of an impact on battle, which is probably why the Alliance hasn’t announced this news officially.”

With the Beast Tide approaching and Star Beasts behaving erratically, the public is in panic and unrest. At this time, announcing that General Shen has not only upgraded his spiritual power to SSS level but can also pilot two Mecha simultaneously would likely have a calming and encouraging effect on the public.

But the Alliance only announced General Shen’s promotion to SSS-level spiritual power and did not publicize the other point. Perhaps controlling two Mecha simultaneously isn’t that effective, or perhaps it’s a secret military capability that is not appropriate to disclose.

Upon hearing about piloting two Mecha at once, Ji You’s eyes suddenly lit up! How strong must one’s spiritual power be to achieve this?

Although Ji You had only been exposed to simplified versions of Small Mecha since handling a Mecha, even the Small Mecha proved to be very difficult to operate, let alone two.

Is it possible?

Impossible, right?

SSS-class spiritual power, is it really that formidable?

But—

When I think that I’m only a D-class, and just recently an E-class, the passion that rose in Ji You’s heart suddenly cooled down.

However—

I didn’t expect that Shen Changqing, this honest guy, would have such a formidable grandfather. It’s not obvious at all. If it weren’t for Little Cutie Sheng Qingyan telling me, Ji You would never have made the connection between the two.

But then again, on Shen Changqing, not a hint of the arrogance that comes from a prestigious family can be seen. On the contrary, Shen Changqing is low-profile, practical in his actions, and sincere towards others...

Indeed—

Is Shen Changqing really an honest guy? If he were a little young master raised by an ordinary family, he’d probably look down on people with his nostrils pointed to the sky.

Sigh!

Sigh!

Ji You thought, next time she shouldn’t bully an honest guy. Of course, she wasn’t afraid of General Shen, but it was out of respect for General Shen! He’s the Guardian God who has protected the stability of the Alliance and the peace of the citizens for a hundred years! How could she bully his grandson?

Absolutely not!

Thinking of this, Ji You became curious about something and asked, ”So—who is more formidable, General Shen or Admiral Bai Ji?”

The prestige of these two in the Alliance is very powerful.

Upon hearing this, Xie Chuanqiong said, ”It’s not easy to compare. After all, General Shen is elderly, while Admiral Bai Ji is in his prime, with all his values at their peak. But General Shen also has advantages, with over a hundred years of combat experience, rich in wisdom. If the two were to truly battle, it’s tough to predict the winner.”

Ji You understood, Admiral Bai Ji has reached such an extent? Even someone like General Shen Chi might not be able to defeat Admiral Bai Ji?

However, Xie Lingzhi had a different opinion, saying, ”I believe that General Shen Chi would definitely win!”

He is, after all, a powerhouse with SSS-class spiritual power.

Lea thought about it and said, ”I think it might also be General Shen Chi.”

Admiral Bai Ji is still too young, after all.

Ji You thought of something; when she first had her spiritual power tested, either Principal Hong or Dr. Luo had said that Admiral Bai Ji, like her, possessed mutated spiritual power, with a natural Spiritual Silk Cleaning Rate of 50%.

But, General Shen has SSS-class spiritual power, so what’s his Spiritual Silk Cleaning Rate?

Thinking this way, indeed, it’s difficult to determine the victor.

Speaking of mutations, the smile on Ji You’s face stiffened; she herself was a mutant spiritual power. But why is her life so miserable?

Other than owning six dummies, what else does she have?
