Chapter 365: Chapter 296: A Toast to the Backbone of a Great Nation

The announcement was signed: National Power Equipment Group, August 29, 2023.

It was such a calm announcement.

Not a single sentence mentioned the word ”sanctions.”

Not a single sentence mentioned the name of any foreign company.

Not a single sentence mentioned any ”list.”

The most impactful word in the announcement was, in essence, ”done.”

Decommissioned, achieved, deployed.

And the second top-trending item was from Hua Wei.

”Hua Wei Company’s ’Star River’ Series Communication-Sensing Integrated Base Station Platform: First Commercial Deployment Phase Complete”

The announcement mentioned several key points:

First: The initial batch of Hua Wei’s self-developed ”Star River” series of communication-sensing integrated base stations has been commercially deployed in several key cities in one of the nation’s provinces. They are now officially connected to the carrier’s core network.

Second: The platform is built on Hua Wei’s proprietary AI computing chips—next-generation derivatives of the HiSilicon Kunpeng and Ascend series.

Third: The platform supports various application scenarios, including 5G-A spectrum coordination, millimeter-wave sensing, and low-altitude target tracking.

Fourth: The platform’s critical chips, algorithms, and operating systems were all independently developed by Hua Wei, with no reliance on any foreign supply chain links.

...

「In a certain meeting room in the Capital City.」

A high-level trade official from a Western nation scrolled through three news articles in a row on his phone.

Every line on the screen was a slap in the face.

The most ironic part was that the core Logic of his entire visit was built on two premises.

The first premise: Huaxia’s high-end industrial ”mother machine” production lines were still dependent on the handful of ”market-based international suppliers” backing his country.

The second premise: Huaxia could not build its ”next-generation” core communications infrastructure without their critical chips and operating systems.

Every single item on his ”list” was based on these two premises.

But now...

These two premises had just been shattered, one by one, and thrown back in his face by the people across the table, all with two official announcements, each less than a thousand characters long.

The lead representative across from him seemed to notice the change in his expression.

The man politely refilled his cup with a little more water.

”Sir.”

”Regarding the list we were just discussing.”

”I suggest you take it back with you and reconsider.”

”Perhaps...”

”...it would be better to resume this conversation at a later date.”

「Meanwhile, the internet was exploding.」

[AHHHHHHHHH NATIONAL POWER IS FUCKING AWESOME!]

[A full 28nm mass production line is already deployed? Didn’t they say that was still three to five years away?]

[Bros, I think I get it now. That whole ”three to five years away” thing was just a line they fed the foreigners.]

[When I saw Hua Wei’s use of the words ”independently developed,” I literally started crying.]

[What about all those people who were preaching doom and gloom before? Maybe it’s time for them to bury their heads in the sand?]

[I just checked a certain foreign website. Their comment section is dead silent. Interesting.]

[This announcement belongs in the history books.]

[Hey guys, did anyone else notice? The acknowledgements mentioned Academician Gao Wen. He’s a True God in Huaxia’s computing field.]

[I looked him up. Academician Gao has been super low-key for the past two years. For his name to be attached to a project like this, you know it’s the real deal. Seriously hardcore.]

[The backbone of Huaxia has always been people like this—the ones who put their heads down and work, then slam their fists on the table when it counts.]

On National Power Equipment’s official account, the number of comments under that brief announcement—less than eight hundred characters long—surpassed two million within an hour.

The top comment consisted of only five words.

”Respect for the nation’s backbone.”

It had twelve million likes.
