Chapter 144: Chapter 142: Want to Do Scientific Research Together?

Rongcheng, High-tech Industrial Park.

With orders from Chengfu Precision constantly pouring in, Li Yang’s small workshop in southern Jiangcheng was no longer big enough.

A few months ago, he had moved the entire hardware processing factory to the provincial capital, Rongcheng.

After all, as the biggest bloodsucker... I mean, the biggest transportation hub in the Southwest Region, its logistical advantages far surpassed those of Jiangcheng.

Moreover, the factory’s floor space had expanded by more than tenfold, and Li Yang could now be considered a proper entrepreneur.

Inside the factory manager’s office.

Li Yang and Li Qin were hunched over, checking this month’s financial records.

”Sis, did the final payments for last month all check out?” Li Yang asked.

”They all did. Not a single cent is missing,” Li Qin said with a smile, closing the ledger.

Just then, the phone on the desk suddenly started vibrating.

Li Yang picked it up and saw the caller ID: President Liu, Chengfu Precision.

He immediately made a gesture to Li Qin before answering the call.

”Well, hello! President Liu!”

”What’s up? Did you not have a good time last night? If you weren’t satisfied, I can set something up again for you tonight. I’ll make sure it’s a great time!”

Li Yang said with a broad smile.

On the other end of the line, Liu Chengfu laughed as well.

”Ah, my friend, no need for that.”

”I had a great time yesterday.”

Li Yang chuckled along, and after they exchanged a few more pleasantries, Liu Chengfu suddenly asked a question, his tone carrying a deeper, meaningful weight.

”My friend, I’ve treated you pretty well, haven’t I?”

Li Yang’s heart skipped a beat when he heard that, but he replied aloud.

”Of course! Without your support, President Liu, I, Li Yang, wouldn’t be where I am today.”

”Haha, good, as long as you remember what I’ve done for you,” Liu Chengfu said with a chuckle.

Having knocked around in the business world for so many years, Li Yang immediately sensed that something was off.

For Liu Chengfu to suddenly play the sentiment card like this, he definitely wanted something.

He carefully tried to sound him out.

”President Liu, the way you’re talking... is there something you need me to do?”

Liu Chengfu cleared his throat.

”Ahem, it’s like this. Sometime next month, find the time to take a trip to Huaxuan Technology’s headquarters in Shanghai.”

Li Yang was completely stunned.

”Shanghai? Huaxuan Technology’s headquarters?” Li Yang asked, his face full of confusion.

”President Liu, what... what is this all about?”

”I don’t know either,” Liu Chengfu said helplessly from his end.

”You’ll have to go and ask them yourself to find out the specifics.”

”As for the exact date, just wait for them to notify you.”

After saying that, Liu Chengfu exchanged a couple more pleasantries and then hung up.

Li Yang was lost in thought.

”What is it? Did something happen?” Li Qin asked with concern, noticing the look on her brother’s face after he ended the call.

Li Yang shook his head.

”President Liu told me to go to Huaxuan Technology’s headquarters in Shanghai next month.”

”To Huaxuan Headquarters? That should be a good thing.”

Li Qin said, then suddenly remembered something.

”Oh, next month? I think Xiaodong is also going to Shanghai next month for some Chinese mathematicians’ conference. You two can meet up! See if Xiaodong has gotten skinny at school!”

Hearing his sister’s words, Li Yang nodded silently.

His mind was racing, and he was thinking far more deeply about this than Li Qin.

He knew very well that the real reason his factory was able to get those massive orders from Chengfu Precision was because they actually originated from Huaxuan Technology.

And Liu Chengfu was always so polite to him for Huaxuan Technology’s sake.

As for why Huaxuan Technology would look out for him...

Although Li Yang felt it was unlikely, still...

’It has to be related to Xiaodong...’

...

Time flew by.

Less than three days remained before Li Dong’s trip to Shanghai for the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICCM).

Yan University, Room 404.

The dorm room was quiet. Aside from Li Dong, his other three roommates were already asleep.

Li Dong sat before his mobile workstation, his pen verifying the final steps of the Fourier optimization boundary for the high-tier remainder terms.

As the tip of his pen drew the final convergence symbol on the paper,

Li Dong slumped back in his chair, completely spent.

”Done!”

On his computer screen was a mathematics paper, written entirely in English:

[A Proof of Montgomery’s Conjecture on Association for the Interval |α|∈[0,4]]

Just by looking at the title, anyone in the field would probably just chuckle.

’Another crank theory?’

But this time, it was the work of Li Dong.

[This paper is based on a massive sample dataset of the first 10^23 non-trivial zeros of the Riemann ζ-function, all of which have been fully verified... Combining Fourier optimization methods, and assuming the Riemann Hypothesis (RH) holds true, it extends the applicable range of the 1973 Montgomery theorem from the original |α|
