Wolf Princess Sold to the Dragon King

Ryker had fought outnumbered before. He’d never fought outnumbered while babysitting a glowing, comatose woman whose body kept doing things nobody asked it to.

Three fae came from the left. Two dropped from above. He shoved Guinevere behind him, and his blade moved in a blur.

Some were humming. Others were narrating. A few were having full-blown conversations that Ryker would edit when he retold this story at every pub for the rest of his life.

”She’s burning so hot... Her cunt will taste like liquid gold.”

”My dick will glow for centuries. Hold her down, brothers.”

They kept coming in droves, and the math was getting worse.

”She tastes like stolen power. Old blood before the fall.”

”Her mind is clinging to him. We’ll tear those memories out one by one.”

Maddox heard every word and his blood went from hot to volcanic. His claws punctured his own scales. His wings beat harder, faster, eating the distance between them.

Maddox: We kill every single one. No survivors. Mark their positions.

Sterling: Already done.

Four got past Ryker. They hit Guinevere at once, tackling her flat. Their hands moved across her skin like they were pulling something from underneath it.

Ryker spun just in time to see their wings begin to change to gold.

”Yep. That’s a problem.” He lunged, sword out. ”You parasitic fucks.”

Two swipes. Four heads. Then he pulled Guinevere up against him.

”Stay calm, Gwen. I won’t let anything happen to you.” He wasn’t sure if she could hear him. He absolutely was not saying that for himself too because these insect demon fairies were disgusting.

More swarmed around them, still running their mouths.

”The prophecy says we deliver her to the Eclipse King.”

”I’m tasting her first. One thrust and my cock becomes a god. Nyxar can have the leftovers.”

Her panic hit Maddox through the matebond like ice water dumped down his spine. She wasn’t conscious, but her body knew it was under attack. Every instinct in him locked onto her position.

Maddox: Ryker. What’s happening on that dragon?

She ripped out of Ryker’s arms and jumped off the dragon’s back.

Ryker: Shit. She just jumped. I lost her visual.

She fell thirty feet, landing on the spine of a Drakencrest dragon who had been hit by dark fae magic.

Maddox’s heart stopped for one full second.

Maddox: Gwen, don’t move. I’m coming.

Straight line, maximum speed, fire building in his chest so hot it burned his own throat. Everything in him narrowed to a single point: her.

Guinevere knelt, touching the dragon’s neck and gold light flared from the point of contact. His black eyes turned gold before settling to their natural dark green. Free. The compulsion gone.

Maddox watched the light race across the freed dragon’s scales. He didn’t understand how she was doing it, but pride hit him so hard, his chest ached.

Kael also tracked the gold traveling through the dragon. He opened his mouth and the draconic command hit the sky.

”STOP HER.”

Every dragon still under his control froze, then turned towards Guinevere, bodies suspended.

The dragon beneath her locked mid-wingbeat, caught between the draconic command affecting him on a biological level, and the instinct to protect the woman standing on its back.

Maddox: You do not give commands to my people. STAND DOWN.

His counter-command hit the draconic register a half-second after Kael’s. Two kings broadcasting on the same frequency. The dragons caught between them shuddered, torn between two voices that both demanded obedience.

Guinevere looked up, her gold eyes finding Kael across the distance. The expression on her face held no defiance. Just confusion.

The command had said her. She looked left, then right. There was no other woman or she in the sky.

For one absurd, frozen second, every dragon on both sides watched a woman tilt her head in genuine bewilderment at the concept of being the person addressed.

Kael stared at her. ”You cannot be serious.”

Ryker: She is the most accidentally disruptive person I’ve ever met.

Maddox hit the dragon’s spine in human form, and he pulled her against his chest.

His mouth pressed into her hair. ”I’ve got you, baby. I’m here.”

She made a sound that lived somewhere between a sob and a breath. Then she jumped, legs wrapping around him, arms locking behind his neck, face pressed into the space below his jaw.

”I love you so goddamn much,” he said against her ear.

She held on like he was the only solid thing left in the sky. He held her back like she was and for a moment it was just her and him, and nothing else.

”Gods... you’re burning up.” The heat was worse than before. It was burning through her fire-proof zip suit, bleeding into his body. He absorbed it so rapidly that his own temperature rose to do it.

”Give it all to me. I’ll take it,” he said, arms tightening around her.

His dragon rumbled low in his mind.

She needs to lay with us. No fight left.

He didn’t need his dragon to tell him that. The matebond had been feeding him every detail of discomfort. He needed her home and Aldric to look at her immediately.

”Gwen, can you hear me?” He knew the answer already. She defaulted to him the way a compass defaults to north, moving on instincts alone.

Another wave of heat poured straight into him, causing his cock to jerk hard.

”Baby...” He stiffened, locked between the knowledge that he needed to protect her and something at an instinct level that made him want to start thrusting into this woman.

Then the dark fae moved.

Gold light erupted from her skin and expanded outward in a sphere, encasing the dragon, Maddox, and Guinevere inside a shimmering orb of flame.

Her hips rolled into him once.

Maddox looked down at the woman clinging to him. She had no idea what she was doing.

His mind screamed this was wrong and there was danger, but his hips ground against her back. She rolled into him again, a noise escaping her throat.

His hands belonged to someone else and moved like lightning. He unzipped the front of her zip suit, then his own, and pushed into her without ever letting her legs leave his waist. It took multiple thrusts before he was fully seated inside of her.

The sound that came out of him wasn’t human. He attempted to restrain himself, only tiny movements so the dragon beneath them wouldn’t know he was balls deep in his wife.

Tried. Failed. One second it was small and the next he was fucking her so hard his brain shut off.

Ten seconds later, he was cumming. That was how long he lasted. On a dragon. In a war. He’d process the shame later.

He felt her temperature go down by several degrees. Then her insides convulsed around his shaft.

”That’s it, baby. Milk my cock. Don’t stop.”

He continued driving into her, another climax already barreling towards him. Guilt and lust warred in his chest, but his body had already made its choice.

”Fuck....I’m gonna fill you again.”

A second orgasm exploded through him, and he started pumping more cum into her. His fangs lengthened on their own, and sank into her neck. The second his venom hit her system, the fire in her blood cooled even more.

She groaned, relief flooding through to him through the thrusts and spasms. This was helping her and he knew it was.

But dragons only mark once. He’d done it twice in the last hour. His ancestors were either proud or appalled.

Ryker: Maddox. We have a situation.

Maddox: Define situation.

Ryker: That orb is a dinner bell. Over one hundred just portaled. I lost count. All heading your way.

Ryker: What are you doing over there?

Maddox: Managing the situation.

Maddox was already ready to cum again. He was well aware this was insane. He’d never had the urge to mate to this degree in his life. Or cum three times holding a girl while standing in the same position. Let alone in under two minutes.

Pulling out of her felt like losing a limb. He retracted his fangs, zipped her suit closed, then his own, and tried to remember how to think about anything other than being inside her.

”I am going to fuck you so much when this is over,” he said, pressing his lips to the spot he just marked her.

A promise. A threat. A mission statement. All three.

The shadows kept multiplying. He counted forty converging on the orb’s surface. More portals opened. Fifty. Sixty. They were still coming. Over a hundred. Maybe two.

Maddox pressed his forehead to hers and closed his eyes.

”I’m sorry baby,” he whispered.

Her instincts were telling her to do this. His were telling him she was right. But they were outnumbered and the orb was a beacon.

”Stand down.” The draconic command cracked through the register at the frequency that overrode autonomy. The orb shattered, and her body stiffened against his chest.

Ryker: He’s back. Disheveled.

Maddox: Shut the hell up.

Sterling: Disheveled how?

Ryker: Like a man who just managed a situation.

Maddox lifted a hand. His flame barreled towards the fae converging. A fae lifted his palms, and Maddox’s fire hit an invisible wall.

It hung in the air for one second, suspended, and then absorbed into the fae, traveling up its arm and into the threads of its wings.

Maddox blinked. That was new. He stole a glance to Ryker, who was having the same issue across the field.

This was not natural. It was engineered.

Maddox: KAEL. WHAT DID YOU DO?

Kael: Something that you should have discovered thirty minutes ago. Why do they want her? Who is she? Where did you find her?

Maddox: None of your concern.

Kael: You tell me yours. I’ll tell you mine. That’s how information sharing works.

Maddox gritted his teeth. Kael was a dead man walking. There was no universe where he’d tell that man anything about his wife.

One of them dropped from above, faster than dragon speed in human form. It closed the distance, then grabbed her around the waist, ripping her out of Maddox’s grip.

”GWEN.” Maddox drove forward, blade cutting through the first fae that got between them. Then the second. Then the third. ”I’m coming. Hold on.”

He cut through them like a man who had just been interrupted three orgasms deep.

She struggled in the fae’s arms, trying to get back to Maddox. A portal opened and the fae pulled her back with him into it.

Maddox’s hand closed on empty air as it snapped shut. His roar split the sky from forty yards out.

The chanting and narrating stopped. The fae scattered into portals leaving the battle and abandoning their possessed dragons.

Clouds above began to lighten and the battlefield went still. The matebond went dark, and the absence of her pressed against his ribs like a fist.

Maddox: Jaxon. Tell me you are here.

Jaxon: Just arrived. I saw it, Your Majesty.

Maddox: Find her.

Across the sky, Kael Ashenvale shifted, landing on the back of one of his dragons with a closed fist.

His iron eyes burned in a way they had not burned since he pressed his hand to her arm on a snowy mountain and felt his family’s flame come home to him.

He turned to the dark mage hovering beside him.

”Get me to her. Now.”

Two kings on opposite ends of a battlefield, both staring at empty air, both planning to burn the world to find the same woman. Neither of them willing to admit they had that in common.

The race to find Guinevere Lunaris had exactly two competitors and zero rules.
