Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1354: Luo Ancestors’ Situation

Luo Yunxiao and her parents found one of their ancestors, Luo Shiwen, in awful shape. Luo Fenghan crouched beside him. ”What happened to you, Ancestor? How did you get into this condition?”

”When I arrived at this place, I was caught in a strange trap. I managed to destroy the trap at this cost.” Luo Shiwen weakly answered. ”My injuries are severe but not life-threatening, and I have already swallowed healing pills, so you don’t need to worry about me.”

”Are you separated from the others, Ancestor?” Huang Xiaoyi asked as she walked to their side.

Meanwhile, Luo Yunxiao checked every wall in that area, and he found several ancient murals that were difficult to recognize because most of them were incomplete.

Luo Shiwen nodded at Huang Xiaoyi. ”As soon as we entered the portal, I immediately arrived at the area before this, but I couldn’t find the others. I tried contacting them, but none of them responded to me.”

Luo Fenghan and Huang Xiaoyi immediately tried to contact their four ancestors, but they couldn’t reach them either, convincing them that they were trapped in other areas.

”This Yin-Yang Corridor Domain is part of the Ancient Realm, and this monastery is the birthplace of the Yin-Yang Lotus. A past disaster destroyed everything, but the lotus still exists today.” Luo Fenghan, Huang Xiaoyi, and Liu Shiwen looked at Luo Yunxiao, who was still intently observing the mural before her. ”Our past ancestors accidentally found the portal, and they managed to find it because the lotus chose them. Meanwhile, you guys entered this domain with malicious intentions, so the lotus punished you for your greed, and you’re lucky that it didn’t kill you. If only you had been patient and entered together with us, this situation wouldn’t have happened to you.”

After she said that, Luo Yunxiao immediately walked away to the next area to check, leaving them behind.

”I’ll accompany our daughter, husband.” Huang Xiaoyi hurriedly ran off to catch up with Luo Yunxiao.

Luo Fenghan let out a soft sigh as he helped Luo Shiwen up. ”Ancestor, I’ll take you out of this monastery, and you should wait there while I look for the others.”

”Alright.”

”Weren’t you a bit too harsh just now, Yunxiao?”

Luo Yunxiao turned to her mother. ”Didn’t I just tell the truth? If it weren’t for my husband and Qing Qiu’er, we wouldn’t have been able to find the portal, let alone enter this domain. They’re lucky that my husband invited them to join us to explore this domain, especially after they refused to support him in fighting Jia Zizhen simply because of their cowardice.”

”But—”

”They were overconfident with their strength, and they rushed into this domain without thinking twice, even though they didn’t have any information about this place. If they weren’t greedy, they should have waited for my husband to enter first before following behind us, but they did the opposite.” Huang Xiaoyi understood this situation, but she felt that Luo Yunxiao was being too harsh towards Luo Shiwen, as he was one of their ancestors. ”My husband is in another area now, and he should be able to find the others’ location easily because he previously told me your location.”

Huang Xiaoyi nodded slightly. ”Who told you about this domain? What exactly is the Yin-Yang Lotus?”

”The old fox told us some things about this domain after the three of you left.” As they headed to another area, Luo Yunxiao explained to Huang Xiaoyi what Hu Tianlang had explained to them earlier.

When she arrived at the western wing, Jia Yuyan found Luo Jieyi and Luo Zhigui there, but both of them were sitting cross-legged and motionless, as if they were statues.

Jia Yuyan approached them and tried to wake them, but neither of them showed any reaction. She tried to check their breath and pulse, but everything was normal, which confused her.

”What actually happened to them? Why are they in this situation?” Jia Yuyan sighed softly and walked to the end of the area, which was an open veranda. She stood there and looked at the area in front of her, and her eyes sparkled as she saw a lake several miles away. ”What a beautiful lake! Even though the surrounding area is in shambles, it is still much more beautiful than the Celestial Yin Lake.”

As she surveyed the other areas, an idea suddenly flashed through Jia Yuyan’s mind, and she felt it was a good idea.

”Since no one can enter this domain, it should be safe if we stay here, and those bad people will never be able to disturb us. Unfortunately, the disturbance of Yin-Yang destroyed this domain in the past, and it might happen again in the future. If that happens while we are living here, we will surely die like its past inhabitants.” Jia Yuyan suddenly saw a green light gleaming not far from the lake, and she hurriedly jumped down from the veranda to go there, leaving Luo Jieyi and Luo Zhigui behind. ”That green light feels familiar to me, so I’ll check there.”

After leaving Luo Shiwen at the main entrance of the monastery, Luo Fenghan hurriedly went to another area, where he arrived at a room with a spiral staircase leading down.

Luo Fenghan hurriedly descended the stairs before arriving inside a fairly large room, where he saw several headless statues, with black statues on the left and white statues on the right. At the middle of the room, a split stone altar caught his attention, and he hurriedly approached it. ”What kind of place is this? Did the past inhabitants of this domain use it as a place of offering for the Yin-Yang Lotus? What did they offer back then?”

Luo Fenghan looked at the narrow passage at the end of the room that only one person could pass through at a time, and he carefully entered it until he arrived at a small room. His expression changed to shock when he found Luo Qifeng and Luo Meizhen tied to two statues in an unconscious state. He tried to approach the two statues, but a barrier prevented him from approaching them.

Luo Fenghan intended to try to break through the barrier, but he remembered Luo Yunxiao’s previous words that the Yin-Yang Lotus was not an ordinary one, and it punished the five ancestors for entering its domain with bad intentions.

Luo Fenghan abandoned his plan to break through the barrier; instead, he hurriedly left the area to look for Zhang Fei, as he was sure that his son-in-law could do something to save Luo Qifeng and Luo Meizhen.

Outside the Yin-Yang Corridor Domain, several senior cultivators had gathered at the location where the portal had appeared before. They were the ancestors of the six supreme clans in the Empyrean Main Domain: Fan Ning, Ru Yan, Zhi Yuan, Chen Qi, Qin Wuzhang, and Jiang Yuhei.

Apart from them, the sect masters of the Nine Sword Hall, the Azure Immortal Peak, the Star Cloud Pavilion, the Eternal Heaven Sect, and the Hidden Moon Sect were also present. They were busy searching for the source of the light pillar they had seen earlier, but the portal had disappeared as soon as Zhang Fei and the others entered the Yin-Yang Corridor Domain, and no one could find it.

’Do you think the appearance of the light pillar earlier had anything to do with Zhang Fei, Big Sis?’ Yin Chang asked Nong Qinwei, the sect master of the Hidden Moon Sect.

’I’m sure it has something to do with Zhang Fei and the Luo Clan, Chang’er.’ Nong Qinwei nodded slightly. ’Before we left, our master and Senior Xuening told me that past ancestors of the Luo Clan once discovered a place called Ashen Lotus Monastery, and they discovered their Lotus Heart Sutra there, which has become their signature technique ever since. Our sect’s past leaders and others once tried to search for that place, but they never succeeded in finding it. The pillar appeared again several hundred years ago, but our master and Senior Xuening were too late in reaching its location, and it had disappeared before they arrived.’

Yin Chang suddenly remembered something. ’Speaking of Zhang Fei and the Moonlit Passion Temple, you must not have heard about this matter because you previously returned to your home domain, Big Sis. However, Jiang Qingmei and Tan Ziyan told me that he completely transformed the Twin Flames Domain, and it has now become a forest domain. According to both of them, he was able to do this with the help of hundreds of members of the Dryad Race, plus assistance from other natural and beast races.’

’How are Jiang Qingmei and Tan Ziyan progressing? Have their abilities improved significantly?’

Yin Chang nodded and informed Nong Qinwei. ’Actually, I haven’t tested their current fighting abilities, but they’ve been training daily under Jian Kuang’s and Su Shentian’s guidance since we sent them to the Moonlit Passion Temple. Those two men are the best in their fields, so I’m sure they’ve made significant progress by now.’

’Jian Kuang is the sword maniac, and Su Shentian is the speed demon. Moreover, they had never been attached to any group before, so Jiang Qingmei and Tan Ziyan were lucky to be able to train under their guidance.’ Nong Qinwei looked at the cultivators who were starting to leave one by one. ’Since the light pillar appeared in this area, I think we should wait here, and we’ll definitely meet Zhang Fei once they leave that place.’

’Alright.’
