Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 964: Face The Foxʼs Evil Soul

*Nom... Nom...*

Xuanyuan Yue sat in front of the monitor as she watched Zhang Fei [1]ʼs movements. ”What is he thinking? Is he really ready to absorb the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul? Most importantly, what is Feng Yaoʼs true identity? I originally thought that she was a member of that race, but I didnʼt expect that she had such a physique that allowed her to reincarnate again and again. His conversation with Luo Yunxiao and Hu Tianlang earlier proved that my initial guess was wrong, and her existence should be higher than the primordials.”

”Yueʼer.”

Xuanyuan Yue froze for a moment before looking back, precisely at a young woman with the appearance of a goddess.

The woman has a flawless complexion that radiates ethereal beauty. Her almond-shaped eyes are large and expressive, shimmering with a cool, icy blue. She wore a semi-translucent dress that highlighted her graceful bust.

”Mother!” Xuanyuan Yue jumped to the woman and hugged her. ”Why did you come here all of a sudden? Where is Aunt Huang? Why didnʼt she come back here?”

The woman smiled amusedly, seeing her adult daughter still acting childishly. ”Your father heard of your actions years ago, and he punished Sister Huang for helping you revive that kid.”

”How... how did my father know about that?” Xuanyuan Xue asked stutteringly, and her body shivered from the cold. ʼUgh! My father will definitely punish me!ʼ

”Did you forget that your father can read everyoneʼs memories?” Xuanyuan Yue shook her head at her mother. ”Sister Huang was the strongest in our universe in the past, but she is no longer your fatherʼs match, and he punished her because of you.”

Xuanyuan Xue covered up and rubbed her face. ”Ugh! My father is a cheater! He shouldnʼt use his abilities carelessly!”

”Haha.” The woman softly laughed before bringing Xuanyuan Yue back to the front of the monitor. ”Is this little boy from back then? Your father asked me to come here to check on him. He hopes your item doesnʼt fall into the wrong hands, or it will be a disaster for this universe.”

”Yes.” Xuanyuan Yue nodded at her mother. ”His name is Zhang Fei, and I have been monitoring him since that day, Mother. He is no different from my father, and they are both perverts! However, the number of his women is still far below my father, who has thousands of women by his side.”

The woman released a soft sigh as she listened to her daughter. ”Even though your father had thousands of women by his side, he never neglected anyone. Since you and your siblings were small, he has always accompanied you all, right?”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Xuanyuan Yue replied with a nod. ”Even though they were both born and grew up in the modern world, Zhang Fei was much better than my perverted father. He was never acting soft from the start, and he was never merciful to his enemies. He never hesitated to kill those who deserved to be killed, and he would take advantage of those who could be used.”

”I see.” The woman nodded in understanding. ”Your father grew up without a father, and your grandmother raised him by herself since he was born. He knew nothing about the world of cultivation at that time, and he would never have known about it if it werenʼt for your other aunt, so he embarked on his path of cultivation too late.”

”Tch! You always defend my fatherʼs weaknesses, Mother!” Xuanyuan Yue protested. ”Just like my father, Zhang Fei never knew about the world of cultivation before I accidentally killed him, and he would never have known about it if I hadnʼt given that thing to him. However, he walked his cultivation path much earlier than my father, and he had already encountered strong cultivators since he arrived in the Sky Jade Realm. He did not have a strong protector to protect himself like my father, and he had to do whatever it took to protect himself. Fortunately, he had a strong stance and determination, and he always used his brain, unlike my father.”

The woman turned to Xuanyuan Yue and raised her eyebrows. ”Why do you talk about your father like that?”

”Arenʼt my words true?” Xuanyuan Yue refuted with pursed lips. ”Do you think my father would still be alive if my aunt hadnʼt protected him at the beginning of his cultivation path? All of you always said that my father was smart and great, but he never used his brain when he first became a cultivator, and he relied too much on my aunt to deal with cultivators who were stronger than him. They told me that he was afraid of you when they told him about you, and he chose to hide from you, right?”

The woman nodded to Xuanyuan Yue. ”Youʼre right, your father did rely too much on your aunt back then. He was so afraid of me back then, but he never stopped working hard, and he continued to grow as time went by. In the end, he managed to reach my level and surpass me, and I have never stopped trying to catch up to him since then. Unfortunately, I was never able to reach his level, especially since he was the strongest in our universe.”

ʼMy mother is no different than a lovebird whenever we talk about my father!ʼ Xuanyuan Yue inwardly grumbled.

”Hmm?” The woman frowned as she watched Zhang Fei [1] arrive at the underwater cityʼs secret place. ”What does he want to do?”

”He seems to want to absorb the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul, Mother.” The woman turned to Xuanyuan Yue with a look asking for an explanation, prompting her to explain everything to her mother. ”Honestly, I still didnʼt expect that my actions at that time would cause a series of chain effects, and Zhang Fei was destined to become the peacemaker of this universe according to the writing.”

”Show me the writing.” Xuanyuan Yue showed the ten-tailed foxʼs writing to her mother, who immediately read it seriously. ”A human, a heavenly fox, and a demon, huh? This is the reason your father asked you not to interfere in the affairs of other universes, but you did it by killing and resurrecting him, and you even gave him the results of your research.”

Xuanyuan Yue smiled bitterly. ”Donʼt keep blaming me, Mother. I didnʼt expect that I would accidentally kill him, so I asked Aunt Huang to revive him, and I gave it to him as a token of my apology. Moreover, I have been monitoring him for years, and he is not a bad person. Furthermore, this universe is indeed chaotic and needs a savior to fix everything, and he is destined to be one.”

”Sigh.” The woman let out a soft sigh. ”Letʼs see if he will succeed in absorbing and controlling that evil soul. If he succeeds, it will be a strength for him, but it will be a disaster if he fails.”

”I have witnessed many of his actions, so I believe he will succeed.”

”Letʼs see it.”

.

.

.

Jui Shui was surprised by Zhang Fei [1]ʼs arrival, especially since he had not come to see him again since he forcefully contracted him two and a half years ago.

”Open your mouth.” Jui Shui was confused by that, but he did so anyway, and Zhang Fei [1] immediately threw the beast pills into his mouth. ”Swallow them now, and I will go see the evil soul.”

”Yes, Master.”

”You two wait here.” Aqua and Yuhe nodded to Zhang Fei [1], who immediately entered the secret place.

.

.

.

”Hmm?” The evil soul narrowed his eyes as soon as Zhang Fei [1] arrived before him. ”I see, youʼve already got my benevolent soul, huh? Do you think you can absorb me with just that?”

”Whether I can do it or not, weʼll never know until I try, right?” Zhang Fei [1] immediately released his soul, which shocked the evil soul. ”Back then, my soul level had just broken through to the early stage of Earthly Soul Level, but I am different now, and my soul level has already reached the perfection stage of Ancestral Soul Level. Since you are a soul, you should be able to sense the true power of my soul, right?”

The evil soul nodded to Zhang Fei [1]. ”I donʼt know how you did it, but your soul power is already equivalent to the soul venerate level. Unfortunately, you are too naive if you think that is enough to subdue and absorb me, and I will immediately take over your body once you absorb my soul.”

”Is that so?” The evil soul frowned as soon as Zhang Fei [1] summoned Ma Kuangyu and Nalan Yushu out of his soul sea. ”If I were alone, I probably wouldnʼt be able to absorb you, but I have them by my side, and they are much stronger than an incomplete soul like you.”

”You—” The evil soul had not finished speaking; Nalan Yushu and Ma Kuangyu had already charged towards him, causing him to let out a furious roar. ”You bastard! Face me yourself!”

”Arenʼt you naive?” Zhang Fei [1] casually responded. ”Nothing is fair in the world of cultivation, and I will use everything in my possession to take you down and absorb you!”

”Master! I will possess this foxʼs soul now.” Nalan Yushu immediately entered the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul, and it was not difficult for her to weaken him by devouring his soul power.

Meanwhile, Ma Kuangyu waved his hand, and several soul chains emerged from his sleeves, which directly chained the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul. He muttered something and drew the evil soulʼs power into his soul, making him grow even more furious.

”Let me go, you bastard!” Zhang Fei [1]ʼs soul quickly solidified before separating from his body, and his soul directly beat the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul with full power after drawing the power from all the white lotuses within it. ”Arghhh!”

Zhang Fei [1] used his light element and summoned the light female, and she showered the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul with light attacks, which pierced his soul repeatedly.

The ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul, already weakened from being sealed there for so long, became even weaker with successive attacks from Zhang Fei [1], Ma Kuangyu, and Nalan Yuxhu, and slowly faded away. ”You cheated!”

”So what? Winning is winning no matter how you achieve it!” Zhang Fei [1] summoned the demon extermination sword, channeled his light element and elemental law into it, and thrust it toward the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul.

”Arghhh!” The ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul released a groan full of pain as Zhang Fei [1] light element flowed through his soul. ”Stop! Stop it!”

”Give up and Iʼll stop!”

”You bastard! Arghh!”

”Wrong answer.” Zhang Fei [1] channeled more of his light element into the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul, as did the light female figure behind him, who continued to fire the light element at him.

A few hours later, the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul had weakened significantly, as evidenced by his soul being almost transparent. Zhang Fei [1], Ma Kuangyu, and Nalan Yushu immediately stopped their actions, or he would have completely disappeared.

Zhang Fei [1] returned the demon extermination sword to his body and approached the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul, which was still glaring at him fiercely despite being much weaker than before. ”Thereʼs no point in you looking at me like this because your fate is already sealed, and your soul will become nutrition for mine.”

”I will control you and kill everyone around you.” The ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul threatened him.

”Unfortunately, you donʼt have the chance to do that.” Zhang Fei [1] immediately used his soul manipulation and replicated the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul before merging it with his. ”This way, I have complete control over you, and you will never be able to control me.”

Ma Kuangyu immediately pulled his soul chains back before breaking the chains binding the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul. ”Kid, prepare to break through to the Saint Soul Level, and your soul sea will probably evolve into the soul world after you absorb his soul.”

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei [1] immediately sat cross-legged as Nalan Yushu helped him merge their souls together by controlling the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul. ”Letʼs do it, Yushu.”

.

.

.

”What do you think about Zhang Fei, Mother?” Xuanyuan Yue asked.

”This kid is indeed much better than your father, and he is decisive in making decisions.” The woman then asked her. ”Who are those two souls? Where did he meet them?”

”Hmm?” Xuanyuan Yue looked at the screen and explained it to her mother. ”Nalan Yushu is the soul of a soul-devouring demon, and Ma Kuangyu is the soul of a human cultivator. Both of them are from the Paradise Realm, and Zhang Fei met them in the Star Tower.”

”The Paradise Realm?”

”Yes.” Xuanyuan Xue nodded. ”The Paradise Realm is the supreme realm of this universe, at least thatʼs what the inhabitants of this universe think about it. However, they donʼt know that there are still other realms above it, including this one.”

”This one should be the primordial realm of this universe, right?”

”Haha.” Xuanyuan Yue chuckled. ”This one is indeed the ruins of the primordial realm of this universe, and it is almost the same as the primordial realm of our universe.”

The woman nodded in understanding. ”Just like our universe, this kidʼs universe seems to have also suffered severe damage in the past, and the effects are still continuing to this day.”

”Youʼre wrong about that, Mother.” The woman turned to Xuanyuan Yue. ”This universe did suffer severe damage in the past, but its condition is still much better than our universe. Many primordials still exist in this universe, including the two primordial beasts.”

”Oh?” The woman was surprised to hear that, and Xuanyuan Yue immediately displayed many pictures. ”Are they the primordials of this universe?”

Xuanyuan Yue nodded at her. ”They are indeed the primordials, but they have long entered hibernation because this universe can no longer accommodate their power. If they wake up now, the laws in this universe will collapse, and it will cease to exist. Unlike them, the Primordial Genesis Beast and the Primordial Nihility Beast remain awake, even though they do not make any significant movements.”

”Hmm?” The woman seriously observed the two primordial beasts. ”This universe seems to be stronger than ours, especially since there is only one primordial beast in our universe.”

”I have realized that since I arrived in this universe, and I decided to stay here to research the true strength of this universe. If my guess is correct, I might be able to do something to strengthen our universe, and my father will no longer need to be bound to our universe.” The woman let out a soft sigh and rubbed her daughterʼs head, but Xuanyuan Yue immediately brought up Feng Yaoʼs image. ”Do you see anything different about her, Mother? I have a lot of information about her, but all of it shows that she is not an ordinary human, and she might be an existence far superior to the primordials.”

”An existence that surpasses the primordials?” The woman asked with a frown.

”Yes.” Xuanyuan Yue immediately showed her mother all the information she had about Feng Yao, including the information she had obtained from Zhang Feiʼs previous conversation with Luo Yunxiao and Hu Tianlang. ”Try reading and listening to all this information, and Iʼm sure youʼll think the same as I do about her, Mother.”

The woman spent some time reading and listening to all the information about Feng Yao, and everything really shocked her. ”There is no existence like her in our universe, and she seems to be a really special existence from this universe.”

”Hehe! Iʼm right, right?”

The woman nodded. ”Do you know where Feng Yao is now? If you can find her, we will go see her, and I will talk to her myself.”

”There.” Xuanyuan Yue pointed at the screen. ”Feng Yao is in the Flame Spirit Citadel now.”

”Letʼs go meet her, Yue.”
