Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 299: Wang Xiaoyiʼs Decision

Shen Xueyi smiled bitterly at the jealousy in her motherʼs voice, but she had already guessed that Shen Xinya would react like that if she knew about her relationship with Zhang Fei. ”Yes, Mother. I dual-cultivated with him five days ago, and I also took the same pills he gave to Yuʼer.”

Shen Xinyaʼs expression turned jealous after she heard that, especially since she herself wanted those pills so badly. However, she was aware that Zhang Fei would not give them to her if she did not become his partner, and she was actually willing to do that to get them, but her mother kept stopping her.

Naturally, Shen Huang also noticed her daughterʼs expression, but she chose not to comment on it and asked her granddaughter instead. ”Has your cultivation reached the barrier to the sovereign realm?”

”Yes, Grandma.” Shen Xueyi responded with a nod. ”I can already feel the barrier, but I still need a little time to be able to touch it, and I might be able to break through to that stage in one to two weeks, but that also depends on the situation.

If Zhang Fei comes to me and dual-cultivates with me again, then I might be able to break through faster with the boost from his yang qi, especially since his yang qi as a mythical beast is really strong for ordinary beasts like us.”

Shen Huang was actually jealous of her granddaughter and great-granddaughter, particularly since she had cultivated much longer than them, but she still hadnʼt managed to break through to the sovereign realm. Unlike her daughter, she never considered accepting Zhang Feiʼs offer, so she refrained from expressing her jealousy towards them. ”Thatʼs good for you, Xueyi.

Once you break through to the sovereign realm, you can solidify your position in our clan, and no one will dare to oppose you again like Shen Haoran.”

However, Shen Huangʼs words actually made Shen Xueyi let out a heavy sigh. ”Actually, I wanted to give the leadership of our clan to Zhang Fei and Yuʼer after they got married, but he has already rejected my wishes, especially since he wants to live an unfettered life.”

”I see.” Shen Huang nodded in understanding before speaking to her granddaughter again. ”I am not surprised by Zhang Feiʼs decision, especially since all heavenly foxes are selfish creatures who prioritize themselves over others. Moreover, the situation in our clan will be calmer after we get rid of Shen Haoran, so you donʼt need to do that and keep leading our clan.”

”Yes, grandma, I have no other choice either.”

”Where is Zhang Fei right now? When will he come here?” Shen Xinya suddenly asked her daughter.

Seeing her grandmother acting out of character, Shen Yu spoke to Shen Xueyi through voice transmission. ʼMother, my grandma seems really jealous of us, and sheʼs also impatient to meet Fei.ʼ

Shen Xueyi responded to her daughter with a slight nod before telling Shen Xinya. ”Mother, Zhang Fei should still be in the western Chu Clan right now, but he will definitely come here in a day or two, especially since Yuʼerʼs wedding will take place in three days, and he already informed us that he would help clean up Shen Haoran, so there wonʼt be many casualties.”

”I see.” Shen Xinya replied briefly before disappearing from their sight again, causing the three women to sigh helplessly at her attitude.

Shen Xueyi then approached her grandmother before touching her forehead, and she shared the Yin-Yang Soul Refining art with her, especially since she had already gotten Zhang Feiʼs approval for it.

Even so, Zhang Fei did not allow Shen Xueyi to share the Yin-Yang Flawless Art with anyone; he would only share the dual cultivation technique with women who were willing to become his wives.

After she read the name of the technique that appeared in her mind, Shen Huangʼs expression turned to shock, and her eyes trembled in disbelief, especially since she had been searching for a technique to cultivate her soul but had never managed to obtain it. ”Did you get that soul technique from Zhang Fei?”

”Yes, great-grandmother.” Instead, Shen Yu answered Shen Huang. ”Iʼve tried the soul cultivation technique myself, and the results are quite good, even though I only cultivated my soul once.

Unfortunately, Fei told me that we canʼt cultivate our souls quickly without external help, but the items to cultivate our souls donʼt exist in this realm, and we have to go to the middle or upper realms to get them. So for the time being, we cultivate our souls by dual-cultivating.”

”I see.” Shen Huang nodded in understanding, but she still had no interest in accepting Zhang Feiʼs offer. ”In that case, I will go somewhere else to learn this technique first, and I will be back before the wedding ceremony.”

After Shen Huang disappeared from her room, Shen Yu asked Shen Xueyi directly. ”What do you think will happen to my grandma? Will she also hand herself over to Fei?”

”That might be possible.” Shen Xueyi replied while nodding a few times. ”Feelings mean nothing to your grandmother, and she will never hesitate to use herself to achieve her goal of becoming stronger.

Moreover, she has tried to break through to the sovereign realm several times, but she has always failed to do so, and Zhang Feiʼs yang qi is the best shortcut for her to break through to that stage, so Iʼm sure she has thought about it.”

Shen Yu could understand her grandmotherʼs frustration, especially since she herself had felt so frustrated when she repeatedly failed to break through to the Earth Realm, and she might not have broken through if it werenʼt for Zhang Fei.

”Honestly, I would feel strange if my grandma gave herself to Fei, but I think itʼs not a big deal, and it would actually be beneficial for the future of our clan.”

Naturally, Shen Xueyi also thought the same thing as her daughter, but she chose not to do anything and let Shen Xinya decide for herself. ”All right, Iʼll help you take off your wedding dress now, and you can wear it again two days from now.”

”Yes.”

After she thought things through carefully, Wang Xiaoyi finally decided to bring Chu Yaoqian away from the Duan Clan, especially since she didnʼt want her dear granddaughter to die at the hands of the Ying Clan.

Wang Xiaoyi then took out an artifact to suppress her aura as neatly as possible, so that no one, including her husband, would know of her actions. After making sure that no one was in Chu Youqianʼs room, she immediately snuck in there.

Wang Xiaoyi forgot that Boitata had been watching her from a distance, but she had no intention of stopping her, especially since Zhang Fei had already told her that he had other plans for them. Thatʼs why he asked her to allow the old woman to take Chu Yaoqian away, while also instructing her to follow them.

Not long after, Boitata saw Wang Xiaoyi carrying Chu Youqian using her aura, and she took her away from the Duan Clan, so she immediately followed them.

Shortly after they left, Chu Liuxiang came out of his room, and he looked towards her granddaughterʼs room while letting out a heavy sigh. ”I have warned her sternly, but her character has always been like that. Since she doesnʼt want to listen to my words, I can no longer care about her, and I donʼt care whether she dies or not.”

Chu Liuxiang then returned to his room, but he did not immediately tell his son and daughter-in-law about Wang Xiaoyi leaving with Chu Yaoqian, and he only told them after the two had been gone for quite some time, which caused them to panic.

Chu Chongzi and Yao Chi wanted to chase after them, but Chu Liuxiang immediately stopped them and asked them to forget about the two of them, and he also asked them to focus on giving birth to a new generation for their eastern Chu Clan.

Even so, Chu Chongzi and Yao Chi did not obey Chu Liuxiangʼs words, and they still went to chase Wang Xiaoyi. Regrettably, their mother had disappeared for some time, and she had also erased her tracks.

”What should we do now, husband? Should we follow them to the northern region?” Yao Chi asked Chu Chongzi.

”No.” Chu Chongzi immediately rejected his wifeʼs idea. ”The northern region is too dangerous, especially since the Pang Clan controls the entire area, and our strength is not enough to fight them, so we will only die in vain if we meet them there.”

Unlike her husband, Yao Chi is a woman and a mother, and she was the one who carried Chu Youqian for nine months. Moreover, she also raised her by herself, so it was difficult for her to let go of her daughter just like that.

Chu Chongzi let out a heavy sigh and hugged his wife, who had started to cry. ”Wife, I understand your feelings, and I myself feel heavy about losing Youqian. However, our father is right; she can no longer be saved, so we should forget about her, and we can try to have another child.”

”Sob... Sob...” Instead, Yao Chi hugged her husband back and started crying so hard, and Chu Chongzi kept holding her while waiting for her to calm down.

After some time, Yao Chi had calmed down, so Chu Chongzi took her back to the Duan Clan before going to see their father, and they discussed some things for the future of their eastern Chu Clan.

Wang Xiaoyi kept looking at her granddaughter, who was still sleeping above the flying artifact. She wanted to try waking her up, but she immediately abandoned her intention after recalling her daughterʼs explanation about Chu Yaoqianʼs condition. ”Youqian, the northern region is dangerous, but I will protect you, and I will continue to look for a much better healer to cure you.

After you recover, we will return to this region to take revenge on the people who made you like this, and I will also destroy the Ying Clan for you.”

Unfortunately, Wang Xiaoyi still doesnʼt realize that her plan wonʼt work out well, and her actions of taking Chu Youqian away will only lead them into endless trouble, especially since Zhang Fei already ordered Pang Hong, who was still in the northern region, to deal with them.

When the two notifications appeared in his mind, Zhang Fei had already finished having fun with Yang Luʼer and the others, and the women had also fallen asleep with their bodies covered in sweat.

Zhang Fei sighed softly as he got dressed, especially since time passed so quickly and day had already turned to night on earth, which meant the day had changed again in the Sky Jade Realm, so only two days were left before Shen Yu and Shen Haoranʼs wedding.

”As expected, Wang Xiaoyi took Chu Youqian to the northern region, but I donʼt have time to deal with them, and I have to take care of Shen Haoran first.”

However, Zhang Fei suddenly remembered something and opened the map directly to check on Zhang Chenʼs house in the village, but he was not surprised by the presence of the two people there. ”Duo Luotian must have already told them about my identity, and they were waiting for me on purpose for that.”

A while later, Zhang Fei had arrived at Zhang Chenʼs house, and his arrival surprised Wang Zhuxian and Wang Xiaofeng, who had been waiting for him for a long time. ”If you two came here to learn from me how to become a cultivator, then you guys can go back now, especially since I will not teach strangers to become one.”

”Brother Fei! Why are you acting like this?” Wang Zhuxian questioned Zhang Fei as she approached him. ”I know that you donʼt like our grandpa because he left grandma Chen in the past, but no matter what happens, we are still family, right? We may not know each other now, but we can start a new relationship with each other, right?”

”Why should I be in a relationship with you guys?” Zhang Fei responded with a raised eyebrow. ”You didnʼt even know us before I brought my grandmother to your house, remember? Moreover, you came here to see me and wanted to get in a relationship with me just because you wanted to learn to be a cultivator like me, right?

You are not wrong that we are family since we have the same grandfather, but I dislike it when people want to have a relationship with me because of certain interests, so you can go back to Beijing and forget everything.”

Wang Zhuxian ʼs expression turned disappointed after Zhang Fei said that, but she didnʼt want to give up so easily, especially since becoming a cultivator was the key for her to maintain her youth.

Wang Zhuxian then grabbed Zhang Feiʼs hand. ”I know you donʼt believe me or think badly of me, Brother Fei. However, I hope you can give me a chance to prove to you that I donʼt want to use you, and I really want to have a good relationship with you.”
