Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 190: Demon Remnant I

After Zhang Fei [1] used the Nine Cloud Steps several times, the three of them finally arrived at the mountain the village chief was referring to, but two middle-aged men immediately stopped them. ”Halt!

Matriarch Liu forbids anyone from approaching this place, and the cultivation of the three of you is still too low, so you guys have to go back, or you guys will die from the demon miasma that still remains in this place.”

”Hmm? Do you two come from the Liu Clan, seniors?”

”Yes.” One of them then introduced themselves. ”My name is Liu Bai, and my brotherʼs name is Liu Kang. Our matriarch ordered us to guard this place, especially since there were too many victims who died there in the past, and the demon miasma was too strong for humans like us.”

”Hasnʼt the demon invasion passed for so long, seniors? How can their miasma remain in this place?” Gu Yan asked as she looked at the cave entrance, which was quite far in front of them, but they could see a strange black aura from the cave.

Liu Kang sighed softly before telling them. ”You donʼt know the horror of those demons; they are much stronger than our ancestors. Many of our ancestors had to die in order to seal the portal in the Demon Cave, so you donʼt need to be surprised if their miasma still lingers in this place today.

Otherwise, this realm would have fallen into their hands, and we wouldnʼt be able to live as peacefully as we do now.”

”My brother is right.” Liu Bai also spoke to them. In the past, those demons controlled almost our entire realm, massacred countless people in various corners, and even destroyed many clans. Fortunately, our ancestors were willing to unite to repel the demon invaders, and they finally succeeded in doing so with fierce resistance, including sacrificing themselves.

Unfortunately, one of the clans from our realm actually forgot the hard work of our ancestors by choosing the heretic path in order to become strong, and they tried to destroy the seal on the demon portal.”

”The Pang Clan, right?” They nodded to Zhang Fei [1], but he then took out a token and showed it to them, making them look at him with frowns. ”Seniors, you donʼt need to look at me that way, and I dare to guarantee that this token is genuine, especially since your second young miss gave it to me.

If you donʼt believe me, then you can contact her now and tell her that I, Zhang Fei, showed it to you guys.”

Liu Kang immediately took the token from Zhang Fei [1]ʼs hand, and they observed it seriously before becoming convinced that it was genuine. ”What is your relationship with our second young miss? We have heard that Pang Hong no longer controls her, and she is now active again in the western region.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [1] laughed while rubbing the back of his head. ”Seniors, you two probably wonʼt believe me if I say Iʼm her husband, so it would be better if you contact Huaʼer now, and she will confirm my identity.”

The two middle-aged men were shocked by his confession, and they exchanged looks of disbelief, but Liu Bai immediately nodded to his brother, so Liu Kang contacted Liu Hua directly to confirm Zhang Fei [1]ʼs identity.

They didnʼt have to wait long because Liu Hua gave them an immediate answer, and she also asked them to allow Zhang Fei [1] to enter the cave. After all, he was a demon, so she was sure he would be fine if he went there.

ʼWhat should we do now?ʼ Liu Kang asked his brother via voice transmission. ʼThis young man is really the husband of our second young miss, and she asked us to let him go to that cave. However, his cultivation is still too weak, and our matriarch will definitely blame us if he dies inside.ʼ

Liu Bai frowned and asked him back. ʼIs our second young miss crazy now? How could she allow her husband to enter such a dangerous place? Even our matriarch doesnʼt dare venture too deep with her cultivation already at 1-Star Heaven Realm, and this young man will definitely die in there.ʼ

”Seniors, I appreciate the worry of the two of you, but I will definitely be fine, so let me enter the cave, and I will complete our mission.” The two men wanted to interrupt him, but Zhang Fei [1] immediately summoned Boitata out of his beast space, making them instinctively take a step back. ”She is my protector, so I will be completely safe with her by my side.”

ʼUnbelievable! This woman is much stronger than our matriarch; that means she is the strongest in all regions!ʼ As they gazed at Boitata, Liu Kang and Liu Bai silently muttered.

Boitata couldnʼt care less about their stares; instead, she complained to Zhang Fei [1]. ”Master! You previously summoned me to that disgusting place, and now you summon me to one that is no less disgusting than that!”

ʼMaster? How could a woman as strong as herself be willing to acknowledge this young man as her master?ʼ The two middle-aged men screamed in their hearts.

*Slap*

”Ahh!” Boitata let out a high-pitched cry before rubbing her buttocks. ”Why did you slap my butt so hard, Master?”

”If you continue to complain, I will punish you severely later.” Boitata immediately covered her mouth with her hands as soon as Zhang Fei [1] threatened her like that. ”I wonʼt summon you there, and I just need your help to convince these two seniors, so you can stop complaining.”

Boitata immediately turned to the two middle-aged men, unleashing her aura to intimidate them. She then placed her left hand on her waist, and her right hand pointed at them. ”He is my master, so you two must let him in there, or I will swallow you both alive. Do you two understand?”

The two men gulped hard because Boitata could literally kill them without even blinking, and they nodded repeatedly without saying a word, but their expressions were filled with fear towards her.

”Good!” Boitata then, with a proud smile, turned to Zhang Fei [1], who shook his head at her. ”Master, you can enter the cave now, and Iʼll return to your beast space.”

Boitata instantly disappeared from before them, and Zhang Fei [1] spoke to the two women. ”You guys wait here, and I will enter the cave alone.”

”But, Fei-”

”Stop it, Yan.” Luo Yu immediately stopped Gu Yan. ”Have you forgotten his other identity? We will only be a burden to him if we go with him into that cave, so we should just wait here, and he will definitely be fine.”

Gu Yan nodded in understanding. ”All right, you can go in there, and the two of us will wait for you here, Fei.”

Zhang Fei [1] nodded and teleported in front of the cave door, making the two middle-aged men turn toward his direction in shock, especially since they couldnʼt see his movements. However, he immediately rushed into the cave before transforming into his incubus form, especially since the demon miasma inside was too strong.

”What is the relationship between you two and our young master?” After Zhang Fei [1] disappeared from their sight, Liu Bai asked the two women.

”Haha.” Gu Yan giggled before telling them. ”Seniors, the three of us are disciples of the Yin-Yang Pavilion, and we are his dual cultivation partners.”

”Eh?” They looked at the two women in surprise, and they never thought that their second young miss would marry a dual cultivator.

Luo Yu then explained it to them. ”Honestly, I was shocked to learn that he had such a relationship with your clan, seniors. However, he told us that he had several wives, and they lived together in the western region, but we have never met them.”

After that, the two men didnʼt ask anything else and watched the cave entrance with worried expressions, but they also continued to wonder about Zhang Feiʼs identity, including about his relationship with Liu Hua.

Zhang Fei [1] walked through the dark cave while looking at the map, but he didnʼt find anyone or anything on it, so he was relieved by that. ”Hey, Mei! What do you think is the reason the demon miasma in this place still hasnʼt disappeared, even though a long time has passed? Even now, the demon miasma in this place is thick.

[I canʼt say for sure about that, Master. Anyway, you should be able to absorb this demon miasma into your body, and it might be useful for you, especially since you are a pure demon.]

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei [1] momentarily raised his eyebrows before trying to do so, but he couldnʼt feel anything, even though his body had started to absorb the demon miasma. ”Are you sure this will be useful for me? Why donʼt I feel anything?”

[Hmm? Perhaps my guess was wrong, Master. Even so, I think you can absorb it all, so this cave will return to normal, and the people in this region wonʼt have to worry about this place anymore.]

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei [1] nodded in agreement, and he continued to absorb the demon miasma as he ventured deeper into the cave. He felt that it became thicker and thicker the deeper he went.

After he walked for a long time, Zhang Fei [1] finally arrived at the deepest part of the cave. However, he immediately frowned because he felt such a strong aura from within, so he summoned the Demon Extermination Sword directly. ”Fortunately, my real body and clone are always connected to each other, and we also share everything, so I can use this sword.”

[Hehe, thatʼs the grandness of your demon body clone, Master. Most likely, only you have this special clone ability in this universe, especially since it was a gift from the systemʼs creator, so other humans or demons will not have it.]

Zhang Fei [1] then used the sword element method to channel his light qi into his sword, making it glow white. ”Hahaha! The other demons will definitely be jealous if they see me using the light element, particularly since the light element is their nemesis.”

[Thatʼs for sure, Master! If other demons come into contact with light elements, they will undoubtedly suffer serious injuries and, in the worst-case scenario, die. Fortunately, you are not only a demon, but you are also a heavenly fox, so you are immune to the light element. However, Angela could potentially pose a threat to you, given that she possesses the light element despite being a demon.]

Zhang Fei [1] wanted to reply to Mei, but his focus was suddenly diverted by a black tree at the end of the cave. However, he also smelled the strong smell of blood from the black tree, making him a little nauseous. ”Could it be that that person wanted this black tree? How did that person know that it was here?

[Perhaps the person who submitted the mission is related to the demons who invaded this realm in the past, Master. Could that person be related to the Pang Clan?]

”I think that possibility does exist, especially since the Pang Clan is so eager to break the seal on the demon cave, which means they want those demons to return to this realm, so maybe there is someone from that clan who has ties to them.” Zhang Fei [1] then squatted in front of the black tree and tried to touch it. ”Can you scan this tree, Mei?”

[I will try it!]

===

Name: Blood Tree Demon

Age: 1000+

Attributes: blood and darkness.

Strong: Darkness

Weak: Light

Zhang Fei [1] sighed in disappointment because the system could only scan it to that extend, so he didnʼt know the use of the black tree. ”What do you think if I uproot this tree and keep it in my portable mansion?”
