Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”Jealousy is sour, and I don’t like sour things. I prefer sweet.”

”Sweet?” Quentin Blackwood pinched her chin, forcing her to look at him. ”Why don’t you see if I’m sweet?”

Ivy Sherwood said deliberately, ”You look a little tough to chew.”

”Look? Miss Sherwood isn’t that shallow, is she? How can you know I’m tough without tasting me first?”

”It seems I’ll have to prove it myself, to show Miss Sherwood whether I’m sweet or tough.”

After saying that, Quentin Blackwood captured Ivy Sherwood’s lips in a kiss.

’There are so many people over there,’ she thought. ’Someone might be watching. It would be so embarrassing if they saw such an intimate moment.’

Ivy Sherwood dodged his kiss and pleaded, ”I was wrong. Mr. Blackwood is sweet, just like honey.”

After a pause, she added tentatively, ”So... should I try being a little jealous next time?”

Quentin Blackwood’s hand clasped hers again. ”Next time there’s a woman near me, you have my permission to cause a scene.”

Ivy Sherwood blinked. ’Is Quentin Blackwood giving me the right to act like a shrew?’

”So, what’s the deal with you and Elijah Hawthorne? Did he bully you?”

Ivy Sherwood said with a smile, ”If he did bully me, would you bully him back for me?”

”Of course.” Quentin Blackwood’s eyes were filled with intense possessiveness. ”I’m the only one who gets to bully you.”

”I’m just kidding. He didn’t bully me.” Ivy Sherwood briefly explained what had happened, saying that she had only won by a stroke of luck.

As Quentin Blackwood listened, his dark eyes grew even darker. ’That Elijah Hawthorne just loves to muddy the waters. But it’s clear he intentionally let her win.’

’Whatever Elijah Hawthorne’s motives are, Ivy Sherwood is mine now. If he has any ideas, there’s no way I’ll just stand by and do nothing.’

”Next time something like this happens, come tell on him to me. I’ll get him back for you.”

”Okay,” Ivy Sherwood agreed readily. ”From now on, with my Uncle backing me up, I can do whatever I want in Aethelgard.”

Quentin Blackwood knew that Ivy Sherwood was just saying what he wanted to hear, just coaxing him. In reality, she wasn’t the type to ask him for help or rely on him.

Sometimes, he really wished Ivy Sherwood would depend on him a little more.

There were no real ties between them. He even suspected that if something were to happen between them in the future, she could pull away in an instant and leave without a second thought.

Not far away, Joy Sheridan went to compose herself. She asked a server for some ice and applied it to her face. Although the swelling went down, the five-fingered handprint was still there.

She had no choice but to find a mask to wear. Wearing a formal gown with a face mask looked incredibly strange.

’The events here aren’t over yet, so I can’t leave. I haven’t seen the end of my good show yet!’

As soon as Joy Sheridan returned, she prepared to go complain to Quentin Blackwood, but before she could get there, Ethan Forrest blocked her path.

”Joy, the boss has a girlfriend now. You haven’t had a chance in all these years. Can’t you stop pestering him and show some dignity?”

Ethan Forrest had never liked Joy Sheridan much. He felt she had a serious case of ”princess syndrome,” acting as if the entire world should worship her.

”What business is it of yours, Ethan Forrest? You’re nothing but Quentin Blackwood’s dog. A dog catching mice—meddling in things that don’t concern you!”

Ethan Forrest didn’t get angry. Instead, he chuckled. ”Joy, are you really that uncultured? If I’m the dog, does that make you the rat? Since you seem to think of yourself as a rat, take a good look at yourself. What makes you think Quentin Blackwood would ever like a rat like you?”

”Ethan Forrest, are you insane? Get out of my way! I don’t want to talk to you!” Joy Sheridan glared at him fiercely.

Ethan Forrest said, ”I’m just giving you some advice. You’ve known the boss for so many years and never won him over. But Ivy Sherwood came along and won his heart so easily. It just goes to show that no matter what you do, you’ll never have him.”

”Ethan Forrest, shut your mouth! Even if I can’t have him, there’s no way Ivy Sherwood can! Do you even know what kind of person she is, defending her like that? I’m the young lady of the Sheridan Family! And her? She’s just some used-up slut. She had a fiancé before and was fooling around with other men. She’s probably even had an abortion! She’s not worthy of Quentin Blackwood at all!”

But Ethan Forrest didn’t care. ”So what, as long as the boss likes her? Don’t act like you’re so high and mighty. The tricks you’ve pulled to get rid of the women around the boss weren’t exactly clean either!”

Joy Sheridan couldn’t be bothered to talk to Ethan Forrest anymore. ”Get out of my way!”

”I won’t!” Ethan Forrest blocked her.

Joy Sheridan stomped hard on Ethan Forrest’s foot, making him yelp in pain.

”You wretched woman! You deserve to never have the boss!” Ethan Forrest looked at her angrily.

Joy Sheridan said, ”Mind your own business!”

Joy Sheridan and Ethan Forrest bickered for a moment. When she looked back toward Ivy Sherwood and Quentin Blackwood, Ivy was already standing up. ”Uncle, I’m going to the restroom.”

Quentin Blackwood stood up too. ”Are you inviting me to go with you?”

Ivy Sherwood: ”!!’

’How does Quentin Blackwood manage to twist everything into something dirty now? What happened to the innocent Uncle from before?’

”That is absolutely not what I meant. I was just letting you know.” Ivy Sherwood picked up her bag and walked toward the restroom.

Seeing Ivy Sherwood head to the restroom, Joy Sheridan’s heart leaped with joy. ’This is just too easy.’

She quickly sent out a text message. Soon, a man stood up and followed Ivy Sherwood toward the restroom.

This was the main event of the evening. It was also the only opportunity she had found in days to get Ivy Sherwood alone.

’I’ve already arranged for several men. I’ll hold up Quentin Blackwood in a moment. I refuse to believe Ivy Sherwood can handle all of them by herself.’

’Once they strip Ivy Sherwood naked, tie her up, and leave her in the restroom, I’ll bring a crowd over. I’ll definitely get to see her made into a laughingstock.’

Just thinking about that scene made Joy Sheridan beam with delight.

’This time, it’s foolproof!’

With that thought, Joy Sheridan walked over to Quentin Blackwood.

”Quentin,” she said, her eyes filled with a pitiful look. ”Did you see that just now? Ivy Sherwood bullied me.”

Quentin Blackwood’s eyes narrowed. Joy Sheridan knew he disliked the smell of perfume, so she hadn’t worn any. But Quentin still felt uncomfortable with her proximity.

”Weren’t you the one who had someone provoke her?”

Joy Sheridan said, ”You didn’t intervene just now. That means you don’t hate me that much, right?”

”I didn’t intervene because she wouldn’t fall for your petty tricks.”

”Quentin, why are you so cruel to me? You won’t even give me the slightest chance. How do you know we can’t work if you’ve never tried? I don’t care about your past with Ivy Sherwood. Quentin, for the sake of how much I love you, can’t you take pity on me? Just treat it as charity.”

”Quentin, as long as you’re willing to give me just a tiny piece of you, I’m willing to serve you alongside Ivy Sherwood. I also promise I’ll never cause trouble for her again.”

Joy Sheridan’s tone was utterly pathetic. As long as Quentin Blackwood would be with her, she didn’t even mind sharing him with Ivy Sherwood.
