Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

It was crowded over there, but Quentin Blackwood stood out, the most eye-catching person in the throng.

His aura was completely out of place, and everyone else faded into his background.

Ivy Sherwood looked at the tall man. Though he wasn’t far away, he felt hazy and distant.

The man’s voice was husky. ”These next few days, be careful of Timothy Sherwood and Charlie Rhodes.”

’So, he’s going out of his way to warn me?’

Quentin Blackwood continued, ”If you run into anything you can’t handle, you can call me.”

”I understand. Thank you.”

Quentin Blackwood watched Ivy Sherwood turn to leave. Just then, his phone rang. It was Zane Linton.

”Master Blackwood, the people following you have been dealt with.”

...

In a bar, Silas Blackwood was overcome with frustration. Even with a girl in each arm, he still felt irritable.

It was an indescribable feeling. Nothing felt right.

Just then, the door to the private room was pushed open, and several burly men were thrown inside, all tied up. He didn’t even get a clear look at who threw them.

”You... Weren’t you supposed to be following Quentin Blackwood?” Silas Blackwood recognized them as the men he had ordered to tail Quentin.

He was obsessing over the mysterious woman, convinced that only Quentin knew anything about her, but he couldn’t find a single piece of information himself.

If he had Quentin followed, he was sure he could find out where she lived.

So he hired people to tail him.

Not long ago, they had called to say Quentin had gone out. At this hour, Silas wondered if Quentin was going to see that woman. He had been waiting here for an update.

Instead, he got these useless wastes of space, trussed up and thrown at his feet.

But he had come here on a whim and hadn’t called any of his buddies. How did Quentin know he was here?

’Is Quentin really that capable? To find out so quickly?’

One of the men scrambled up from the floor and knelt before Silas Blackwood. ”He found us. He also told us to tell you that if you send anyone else, he’ll break your legs and you won’t be able to leave the house for half a month.”

Silas Blackwood was already in a foul mood, and now he was furious. He kicked the man in front of him. ”You useless pieces of trash, get out!”

’They can’t even tail one person. And what makes Quentin so high and mighty that he dares to threaten me?’

Ever since Quentin came to Lustre, nothing had gone right for him. Even the woman he’d long desired but could never have had fallen into Quentin’s arms.

The men didn’t dare to linger and scrambled away.

The woman next to Silas Blackwood sidled up, her hand stroking his arm before moving to his chest, feeling his pecs through his shirt.

”Don’t be upset, Young Master Blackwood. Can’t we girls make you happy?”

”Young Master Blackwood, let us take care of you...” One of the girls knelt before him, her hands reaching for his belt buckle.

Although the girls were trying their best, Silas Blackwood felt nothing.

Instead, Ivy Sherwood’s face unexpectedly popped into his mind. ’That damn woman, how dare she just walk out and leave me there alone.’

’Who does Ivy Sherwood think she is, acting so fierce!’

The women around him were always like this—falling at his feet, desperate to have him, trying their hardest to please him.

But Ivy Sherwood... she seemed different from them.

The thought of Ivy Sherwood actually aroused him.

Silas Blackwood was startled by his own reaction.

”Alright, alright, all of you get out!” Silas Blackwood said, his face a mask of impatience.

”Young Master Blackwood, did we do something wrong?”

”Get out!”

The girls, terrified, knew not to stay any longer and hurried away.

Silas Blackwood drank alone, downing glass after glass. But the image of Ivy Sherwood in his mind only grew clearer.

He didn’t seem to realize that he was thinking about Anna Nash less and less.

Meanwhile, Ivy Sherwood had already returned home. Lying in bed after a shower, she couldn’t forget the image of Quentin Blackwood standing in the crowd.

Leaving the Sherwood Family estate had left her feeling gloomy, but after having dinner with Quentin Blackwood, her mood had suddenly lifted.

’If anyone says a single bad word about Quentin Blackwood in the future, I’ll be the first to object!’

Ivy Sherwood was still awake when she got a call from Nina Scott. ”Ivy, it’s so late. You’re not still at the office, are you?”

”No, I’m home.”

”You sound so happy. Did something good happen?”

’Do I?’ Ivy Sherwood hadn’t noticed. ”Do I sound happy?”

”Not just happy, you sound like you won the lottery,” Nina Scott said. You could tell a person’s mood completely just from their voice.

Ivy Sherwood blinked. ”Maybe I really did win the lottery.”

”What are you talking about? What lottery?”

”Nothing. Calling me so late, are you that worried about me?”

”Of course! Who’s going to worry about you if I don’t? I was afraid you were camping out at the office again. You’re busier than most big bosses.”

”Weren’t you the same way when you first started your studio? Things will get better.”

”That’s true. Since you’re so busy, I guess you probably don’t have time.” There was a hint of a sigh in Nina Scott’s voice.

”Hm? Is there something you need my help with?”

At the mention of it, Nina Scott sounded exasperated. ”It’s not about help. It’s the Scott Family. I don’t know if Yara Scott has been whispering in their ears again, but they’ve set me up on a blind date. They’re forcing me to go, and I want you to come with me.”

”Of course, that’s no problem. When is it?”

For something this important, Ivy Sherwood would definitely go with her. Nina had helped her so much; she had to be there to help Nina vet the guy.

”Next week.”

”Okay, I’ll go with you then!”

After hanging up with Nina Scott, Ivy Sherwood still couldn’t sleep.

She finally got up and mixed a new fragrance—a cedar scent with a hint of worldly warmth.

The next morning, Ivy Sherwood went to the studio early to continue with the work she hadn’t finished the day before.

But just as business hours began, her assistant, Edie, rushed over in a panic. ”President Sherwood, this is bad! The factory just called and said they can’t ship our orders on time.”

”What?” Ivy Sherwood shot to her feet.

”But wasn’t that batch almost ready for delivery?” Because of the huge number of recent orders, Ivy Sherwood needed the shipment urgently.

”It was, but they said there was an accident. The entire batch of perfume was ruined. And if they have to remake it, it will take twice as long as before. There’s no way we’ll make the delivery deadline.”

”Didn’t I contract several manufacturers? What about the other factories?” Ivy Sherwood asked. She had done this precisely to avoid such a situation, which was why The Iris Brand’s perfumes weren’t produced by a single factory.

Edie said, ”The other factories also came up with excuses. They said they can’t deliver either.”

Ivy Sherwood understood almost instantly. This was no accident. It was sabotage.

Just last night, Quentin Blackwood had told her to be careful of Charlie Rhodes and Timothy Sherwood. Ivy wouldn’t believe for a second that the two of them didn’t have a hand in this.
