Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Cecilia Vaughn glanced at the tall, handsome man across the street, a hint of bitterness seeping through her expression, and even her breathing became unconsciously faster.

Meanwhile, Stacy Summers showed no awareness as she continued to advise earnestly over the phone.

”Cecilia, I know you young people don’t believe in these things, but sometimes, even if you don’t believe in these superstitions and fate, you should still show some respect. Although Rosalind White is my grandson’s Daughter of Destiny, it doesn’t mean they have to be together; you can’t force love.”

”Grandma is a reasonable person and doesn’t expect you to tolerate Rosalind much. She’s been spoiled since childhood with quite a temper; if she does anything wrong, you can tell me. I’ll discipline her.”

Cecilia Vaughn knew Stacy Summers was kind-hearted and wouldn’t blame her because of a woman like Rosalind White, who believed herself entitled due to being spoiled.

”Grandma, okay, I understand. I may not dare to speak up otherwise. I have principles in how I conduct myself. As long as Miss White doesn’t provoke me, I won’t do anything to her.”

Of course, Cecilia Vaughn’s implied meaning was that if people tried to bully her, she definitely wasn’t the kind to sit back and endure it.

”Alright, Grandma understands.”

Stacy Summers sighed deeply and hesitated for a moment, eventually deciding to remind her.

”Cecilia, aside from issues with Rosalind, Grandma hopes you’ll heed my advice. Adrian’s mother’s necklace, the Purple Moon Charm, is really strange. Remember to avoid wearing it if you can, okay?”

”Uh...”

Though it wasn’t the first time Cecilia Vaughn had heard these repeated cautions, she still found it both amusing and annoying.

”Alright, alright, Grandma. I’ll just say I have a friend waiting and I need to go now, goodbye.”

”Okay, Cecilia, remember on Friday to come with that rascal Adrian to keep me company. Hanging up...”

On Friday, she’d have to stay at The Law Residence for three days, not just with Rosalind White there, but possibly with Adrian’s father and Tyson Law too. Cecilia Vaughn felt rather overwhelmed.

But having agreed to it, she couldn’t go back on her word.

Cecilia Vaughn smiled wryly to herself, hung up the phone, and upon lifting her gaze, saw the man moving against the crowd toward her.

His features were exceptionally handsome, and his demeanor was regal.

It was Adrian Law.

He really hurried here.

Cecilia Vaughn’s heart sank, feeling as if something invisible was gripping her heart, threatening to tear apart her remaining sense of calm and reason.

Her body involuntarily shook, and she bit her lip, finally looking away from him and waving her hand wildly to hail a taxi.

”Driver, stop please.”

Perhaps seeing Cecilia Vaughn standing alone on the street, an olive dark blue taxi quickly pulled up in front of her.

The ostrich mentality kicked in, and deep down, Cecilia Vaughn relaxed. Never had she moved so swiftly, quickly getting into the car.

”Miss, where to?”

”Anywhere is fine!”

Cecilia Vaughn took a breath, glanced back at the figure almost upon her, and immediately blurted out a random location.

However, the taxi driver was puzzled.

”What? Anywhere is fine means where?”

Seeing Adrian Law about to catch up, Cecilia Vaughn became momentarily flustered and quickly blurted out.

”To Springtide Complex on Glaze Street! Driver, hurry, I’m in a rush!”

This was the address where Mona Summers lived. Cecilia Vaughn didn’t have many friends she could talk to this lifetime, and the ones she still kept in touch with were just her close friend Mona Summers and a new acquaintance from Stellerton University, Bella Prescott.

But in moments like these, the first person Cecilia Vaughn thought of was Mona Summers.

Hearing Cecilia Vaughn’s voice, the taxi driver couldn’t resist turning to glance at her, stunned by her ethereal beauty.

”Alrighty, young lady, hold on tight.”

Just as the driver was about to hit the gas, suddenly the back door was pulled open abruptly.

A tall figure squeezed in.

”Cecilia, why are you avoiding me?...”

Hearing that familiar deep, elegant voice, Cecilia Vaughn’s heart seemed to crack. She shuddered all over, not daring to look Adrian Law in the face.

The taxi driver spoke up first.

”Miss, is this gentleman with you?”

”Yes!”

”No!”

Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law spoke simultaneously, but their meanings were completely opposite.

Well, that was interesting.

So which was it?

The taxi driver glanced at both of them in some bewilderment—who’d have thought, they both have amazing looks, even more striking than television stars.

In twenty years of driving this taxi, he’s never picked up passengers as handsome as this pair.

Cecilia Vaughn was angry inside; she stared directly at Adrian Law, a look of ice and fire in her eyes.

”Get out, I need to see a friend; it’s inconvenient for you to come along.”

”Cecilia, then let me escort you.”

”I don’t need you to take me...”

Cecilia Vaughn also hated how she felt awkward and troubled like a lovesick young girl, but emotions made everything uncontrollable, an overwhelming mix that made her feel unlike herself.

Watching the pair’s commotion, the taxi driver understood.

This absolutely was a couple arguing!

Given their exceptional looks, the driver wasn’t upset—instead, he chuckled and offered advice.

”Oh, don’t fight. Just go together. Young lady, let me tell you, sometimes men don’t have a clue when they’ve messed up. Tell him to go home and kneel on a washboard; my wife handles me that way.”

Cecilia Vaughn’s mind was filled with dark lines at the thought.

Making the dignified CEO of The Law Group kneel on a washboard?

How comical would that image be?

Cecilia Vaughn thought Adrian Law would at least be annoyed by such a metaphor, but instead, the man beside her smiled gently, his voice soothing.

”If Cecilia wants to punish me like that, I wouldn’t mind.”

Cecilia Vaughn: ”...”

This man certainly had thick skin!

Cecilia Vaughn had some discomfort showing on her face while the taxi driver, seeing the couple’s atmosphere had warmed, laughed and pressed the pedal.

”Springtide Complex it is? We’re going!”

Cecilia Vaughn remained silent, and Adrian Law slightly nodded.

The car started; the two awkwardly sat in the back seat, Cecilia Vaughn deliberately leaning towards the window, not sparing Adrian Law a glance.

The man quietly watched her, his eyes focused.

Was it he... who had hurt her heart with invisible words?

Thinking of this possibility, Adrian Law’s blood seemed to freeze slightly, a suffocating pain gripping his heart.
