Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 1954: Chapter 1446: A Casual Move

Now, let us speak of both sides.

The encampment had plunged into a great battle, while on the other side, the Li family’s elite forces, led by Li Zhixuan, were preparing to use the cover of night to depart, return swiftly to the encampment, and then, joining forces from front and rear, utterly bury that army of devils and beasts!

She didn’t spread news of the retreat to the loose cultivators; after all, with too many people, word would get out, and the loose cultivators had always lacked discipline—by the time they tried to move, the secret would likely have already leaked.

But what she hadn’t expected was, there was no need for the loose cultivators to leak anything, for the enemy had people watching their every move at all times!

The moment Li Zhixuan’s side made even the slightest movement, a large number of demon cultivators and devil beasts were dispatched to block their way, firmly forbidding them from leaving the battlefield. As soon as the two sides met, a violent offensive exploded forth.

“Courting death!”

When Li Zhixuan thought of the encampment being besieged by Floating Light Creatures, not knowing when it would be broken through, her expression instantly turned terrifyingly grim, evil qi surging from her face, and the killing intent in her eyes sent chills through all around her.

The great battle between the two was on the verge of breaking out. The Li family fought hard to return quickly for rescue, while the creatures native to This Realm hoped to wipe out the main force of these invaders.

Thus, neither side wasted words; they merely unleashed divine powers and spells, activated magic artifacts and talismans, each wishing to quickly defeat the other.

Yet suddenly, from the rear of the native creatures’ battle formation, with a loud boom, a violent explosion erupted, instantly blasting away countless devil beasts and demon cultivators caught unprepared.

While they were still in shock, another explosion flashed with spirit light, once more slaying scores of creatures.

This time, it even tore apart their formation, splitting a giant rift from the rear to the center.

In less than an hour, the situation on the battlefield underwent a complete upheaval.

Originally, the two sides were quite evenly matched, the Li family even faintly weaker—but now, they were utterly no match for the Li family anymore.

“No! We’ve fallen into a trap!”

These demon cultivators, hit by two waves in succession, could hardly fail to react. Their faces instantly turned deathly pale; at this rate, trapped in a snare, they might be wiped out to the last!

Li Zhixuan, watching the plan succeed, let a rare hint of a cold smile slide onto her frosty features.

All of this—all of it—was part of their counter-scheme!

The mastermind behind such intricate plotting was none other than Li Zhirui, thousands of miles away.

When he learned that the native creatures had assembled an army and were coming to assault the encampment, he originally considered letting Li Zhixuan lead everyone back, at which point they could decide whether to attack from front and rear or reinforce the camp based on the situation.

But for the latter, he thought up an even better idea.

That was to directly summon clansmen and loose cultivators from the Primal Spirit Realm, and with their power, withstand this assault.

Most importantly, it could also be used to scheme against the native creatures of another battlefield!

First, he had Li Zhixuan, after learning of the matter, pretend to be frantic with worry, leading the clan back to the encampment, while making sure the seemingly airtight march was “inadvertently” discovered by the foe.

The native creatures would surely learn of it, and would even rejoice to see Li Zhixuan depart with her forces—this would give them a chance to ambush, intercept, or lay a trap on the road, thereby eliminating the Li family and bringing the war to a swift close.

Next, he secretly contacted several heads among the loose cultivators, arranging for the Li family to feign escape, feigning a desperate rescue, luring out a host of demon cultivators and devil beasts, drawing their attention head-on. Afterward, the loose cultivators would launch a rear assault.

To ensure the plan’s success, Li Zhirui had men deliver the orders to Li Zhixuan with utmost haste, arriving within three hours.

She then spent another hour to arrange and deploy every detail.

Finally, when night fell, she led the clan in a seemingly sneaky departure, heading back for the encampment.

Thus, everything played out as it did now!

The devil beasts and demon cultivators fell straight into the trap, launching their attack from behind, completely unaware that while the mantis stalks the cicada, the oriole waits behind, and that behind them, razor-sharp loose cultivators had been lying in wait.

Already struck two times in a row by the loose cultivators with heavy losses, now surrounded front and back, their situation had become desperate.

Especially since, in order to ensure taking down Li Zhixuan and the other cultivators, they had dispatched quite a number of people. If they all perished here, it would mean more than just losing their lives—it would impact the subsequent battles too.

So when the devil beasts and demon cultivators realized this, the first thing they did wasn’t attack, but to protect themselves and avoid death!

But as the ones now on the losing side, they lacked the ability to turn the tide.

As time went on, casualties mounted, though a handful managed to slip out alive and return to their own camp.

“What happened to you? What’s going on? Weren’t you supposed to hunt down those Outer Realm cultivators? Why are you in such a mess?”

Seeing them escape back, a group of demon cultivators and devil beasts immediately surrounded them, eager to know what had happened.

In fact, seeing them in such a state, some suspicions had already arisen—but the truth was too dreadful to accept, so they still hoped to hear something else.

“We fell for the enemy’s cunning scheme. They pretended to rush back for rescue, only to lure us out, then joined forces with those loose cultivators, trapping and slaughtering us…”
