Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 1692: Chapter 1315: Competition

After understanding the cause of the problem, it’s time to consider how to solve it.

Whether ignoring it or forcibly suppressing it, neither seems viable, as these two measures would make the Li family lose prestige!

After pondering for a moment, Li Zhirui came up with a plan, saying, ”Since they want bigger territories and Spirit Veins, the family will host a fighting competition, allowing them to have a proper contest to see who is stronger.”

This way, it not only strengthens the family’s control and prestige but also prevents the situation from escalating, avoiding a war that would disrupt the peace of Shanhai State.

”What if they refuse?” Li Xiuyuan hesitated.

”Hmph!”

With a disdainful snort, Xiaoqing said, ”Have you all forgotten that the Spirit Veins and territories they thrive on actually belong to the family! Back then, the family only leased them out, not transferred them!”

”If they’re not convinced, let them come to the family! As long as they defeat us, they can set the rules.”

It should be noted that these forces didn’t truly participate in the war between the two realms, only providing some logistical support, so the merits they earned were naturally limited.

With their breakthroughs in cultivation mainly benefiting from the overall enhancement of the Primal Spirit Realm, they are not exaggeratedly strong.

Even the Li family before the great boost in strength would have been beyond their match!

”Let’s also probe to see if there are other forces supporting them from behind.” Li Zhirui suddenly suggested.

It’s no wonder he is so sensitive, for the Li family occupies such a vast territory that many forces would envy it.

Especially after they feel a significant boost in their own strength, the greed within spurred by power might lead them to unforeseen actions.

Moreover, in the last two hundred years, the Li family has considerably relaxed their oversight of these subordinate forces, perhaps allowing some small ambitions to develop.

”I understand! I’ll start the arrangements immediately!” A chilling light flashed across Li Xiuyuan’s eyes, indicating he would never allow outsiders to occupy the family’s territory.

Today’s Li family is no longer the small clan of just a few members it once was; now, with the Clan Leader’s command, streaks of Spirit Light soared from Mount Wanxian, flying across Shanhai State.

...

A thousand miles away, at Little Stone Peak, a small sect with only two Human Immortals called Qingmei Sect was established here.

”Sect Leader, the Li family suddenly sent an emissary, waiting in the reception hall.” A disciple rushed in, somewhat flustered, shouting.

The Sect Leader immediately rose, striding quickly forward, asking simultaneously, ”Did he mention the purpose of his visit?”

”No.”

The Sect Leader’s mind raced, vaguely guessing the reason for the visit, feeling a bit apprehensive, not knowing how the Li family would handle the matter.

”Honored guest, your arrival is most welcome, and we apologize for not meeting you sooner.” As soon as he stepped through the hall door, his demeanor became very humble, with a slightly ingratiating expression.

”You flatter me, Sect Leader. My visit this time is at the behest of the family.”

The Li family’s Individual Immortal said calmly: ”The previous allocation by the family currently limits the strength of various factions. Hearing that many forces were secretly in conflict, to prevent endless battles out of anger, the family plans to host a fighting competition to delineate the boundaries of each faction.”

”This...” The Sect Leader was startled, not expecting the Li family not only to refrain from blaming them but also to offer a better solution.

But he quickly realized the Li family’s purpose: to announce to all that Shanhai State has a true master, and to strengthen their control over numerous vassals.

”Master Hao, do you have any opinions?”

”No, no, it’s just surprising that the Sect Master shows us such concern. I’m deeply grateful and momentarily at a loss.”

The Li family’s Individual Immortal cared little about the truth of these words, and he took out an invitation from his Storage Magical Treasure, saying: ”The fighting competition begins the first day of next month; don’t forget, Master Hao.”

”All the detailed rules are within; Master Hao can review them himself. I’ll take my leave now.”

With that, he rose and left.

The Sect Leader repeatedly urged him to stay, but ultimately personally escorted him out of Little Stone Peak.

Then he returned to the sect’s main hall, where all the Elders were waiting, and opened the invitation, carefully reading it.

After finishing, he displayed the contents in mid-air.

”After reading, we’ll discuss.”

The rules were uncomplicated, so the Elders quickly finished reading.

Each faction is to send cultivators with matching cultivation levels to fight, determining rankings through a points system.

The Qingmei Sect could send two Human Immortals or more Individual Immortals to participate, or a combination of both.

Based on the participants’ cultivation level, their tier would be determined.

”The Li family intends to take advantage of this for a major reshuffle!”

An Elder slowly commented: ”Through this fighting competition, they can reassign territories and redistribute Spirit Veins, entirely according to their preferences.”

For instance, assigning unruly factions to areas with thin Spiritual Energy, or positioning two factions with poor relations next to each other.

”And as the Li family further strengthens, they will certainly take this opportunity to expand their core area. Forces near Mount Wanxian will likely have to relocate.”
