Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 178 - 184: Development

Li Zhirui once again entered the quiet room, and before doing so, he had asked a clansman to help send a letter back to the family, explaining that his seclusion this time might last for a long time.

In fact, the main purpose of the letter was to inform Li Shiqing that he was preparing for his breakthrough to Golden Core.

”Zhirui is also starting his preparations?” Afterwards, when Li Shiqing heard the news, he murmured to himself in a low voice.

Some time ago, Li Shilian formally entered the Spirit Cave for seclusion, and if all went well, there should be results within five years.

As for Li Zhirui, since he had just solidified his foundation, he still needed time to enhance his cultivation and raise his realm to Foundation Establishment Perfection, and this period would definitely not be short.

According to Li Shiqingʼs estimation, it would be quite impressive if Li Zhirui could be ready for the breakthrough within ten years.

And this was only possible because Li Zhirui had enough Spirit Pills to consume; otherwise, such a swift pace would be impossible.

While Li Shilian and Li Zhirui were both in seclusion, Li Zhizhun, who had been the Clan Leader for over a decade, also began to implement reforms within the family.

After all, with the expansion of the Li family, the previous practices had become unsuitable and could even hinder the familyʼs development, which Li Zhizhun naturally would not allow to continue.

For this reason, Li Zhizhun specifically summoned all the Elders, and with the support of Li Shiqing, directly stated the areas he wished to reform.

”First and foremost, with the increase in the number of our clan members and various affairs, the previous system where one Elder was in charge, or at most aided by a few more clansmen, can no longer keep up with the pace of development,” said Li Zhizhun in a solemn voice.

”Therefore, I plan to follow the example of major powers and establish the Internal Affairs Hall, Enforcement Hall, Alchemy Hall, etc., to better take responsibility for the family.”

In the past, the Li family did not have these because neither the past Clan Leaders nor Elders thought it necessary. After all, forcing these systems in the past would only have been time-consuming and ineffective.

But now things are different; the Li family is developing rapidly, and every year, several dozen or even hundreds of children with Spiritual Roots are born.

Although they are still young and unable to contribute to the familyʼs efforts, their very existence is enough to prove the strength and growth of the Li family, as well as its future!

Thus, these actions would have had to be taken eventually; they are merely being brought forward.

The Elders had some opinions on Li Zhizhunʼs reforms, as this approach would weaken the power they held.

However, many of them hadnʼt been Elders for as long as he had been Clan Leader—recently, the last Elder of the generations with the ”world” prefix had also stepped down from his duties—and the remaining ones had collaborated with Li Zhirui during his period as Acting Clan Leader.

Of course, the most important factor was Li Zhizhunʼs ally, Li Shiqing!

With the old Clan Leader, the only Golden Core Cultivator of the family, making an appearance, how could they dare to disagree?

”Besides that, thereʼs another matter!” Li Zhizhun nodded in satisfaction at their reaction. For a reform, leveraging support is always beneficial.

”I plan to increase the monthly allowance for our clansmen,” Li Zhizhun said calmly. ”The current family allowance was set many years ago, and now that the family has developed and has enough Spirit Stones, thereʼs no need to be as conservative as before.”

Although the family would have to spend more Contribution Values and Spirit Pills, in the long run, itʼs a very good thing.

Moreover, with more resources, the strength of the clansmen can more easily grow stronger, thus enhancing our force considerably.

”In this regard, letʼs follow the practices of the Yuandao Sect, but we must adjust the distribution to the disciples based on their cultivation levels,” Li Zhizhun reminded.

No Elder would refuse such a matter, nor dare to refuse, otherwise how would you bear the wrath and dissatisfaction of so many clan members?

”Alright, if thereʼs nothing else, everyone is dismissed.”

As it turned out, Li Zhizhun was indeed very suitable for being the Clan Leader. Under his reforms, the Li family once again embarked on a path of rapid development.

Of course, this also had something to do with the children who had not started cultivating before, who had now reached the age of eight and could begin their path of cultivation.

Time flew by quickly, and in the blink of an eye, three years had passed.

In these three years, the Li familyʼs strength had exploded in growth. From originally just over a hundred clan members, todayʼs numbers had swelled to several hundred, and this number was still increasing!

The main reason was that the hundreds of thousands of mortals whom Li Zhirui had relocated to Da Rong Island years ago were extremely keen on having children, as every birth was rewarded with silver coins.

And if the child had a Spiritual Root, they could become a cultivator, join the Li family, change their social standing, and ascend to the heavens in one step.

Apart from this, in these three years, two more Foundation Establishment cultivators were born within the Li family, named Li Zhihe and Li Zhilou.

In fact, during this time, it wasnʼt only these two who attempted to break through to Foundation Establishment, but other clan members also failed, and since they did not use Foundation Establishment Pills, failure meant death and the vanishing of their cultivation path.

Yes! The cluster of clan members trying to break through to Foundation Establishment hadnʼt used Foundation Establishment Pills, because they could not accumulate enough Contribution Value. They had no choice but to resort to using Spiritual Objects for Foundation Establishment to take the risk.

These two were lucky enough to survive and even succeeded in breaking through to Foundation Establishment, but the others were not so fortunate.

For the Li family, Spiritual Objects for Foundation Establishment were not considered rare. If it hadnʼt been for the intentional suppression by the Yuanming Sect, the Li family wouldnʼt have struggled to acquire Foundation Establishment Pills.

In fact, Li Zhizhun had another reform in mind, which was for the clan to provide loans to those members who were hopeful of breaking through to Foundation Establishment, allowing them to exchange for Foundation Establishment Pills.

But there was a significant problem, the clan did not have enough Foundation Establishment Pills!

They even had only one Foundation Establishment Pill left now, so Li Zhizhun had to suppress this thought and wait for future opportunities to discuss it.

In these three years, Li Zhixuan and Li Zhiyue, who had gone out for experience, returned to Da Rong Island one after the other.

The former returned covered in scars, with even a scar beneath the corner of her left eye. Clearly, she had encountered extremely dangerous situations, even a brush with death.

This scar was the result of a fight over Spiritual Medicine with another cultivator, where the situation had been exceedingly disadvantageous for her, constantly being suppressed by her opponent.

If it hadnʼt been for Li Zhixuanʼs ruthlessness, intentionally exposing a deadly flaw to lure the opponent into attacking.

In the end, Li Zhixuan gambled and won. She used the injury near her eye to kill her adversary and obtained a very precious second-grade Spiritual Medicine.

Her return to Da Rong Island this time was entirely because she had been wandering outside for quite some time, and the multitude of Devil Beasts and cultivators she had slaughtered over the years had left her with a dense and terrifying aura of death, which had started to affect her. She needed time to cleanse it.

As for the latter, Li Zhiyue, although she did not have the same experiences as Zhixuan, her adventures outside had also been full of various incidents, and she had matured a lot.
