The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 2109: Chapter 2136: Penalty Fee

Hearing Ye Feng’s words, Mo Tian became increasingly enraged, having never experienced such humiliation.

Mo Tian, the distinguished Young Master of the Demon Spirit Clan, one of the three Super Forces of the Third Layer Heaven, the future heir, and candidate for Third Layer Heaven Master, is now being called poor. This made Mo Tian feel exceedingly displeased, as if he had lost face.

”Three trillion!” Mo Tian shouted angrily, proposing an utterly unbelievable price.

”What!” The entire venue erupted instantly; everyone present stared at Mo Tian with shock, thinking they might have misheard. Mo Tian had actually offered three trillion World Crystals.

This made everyone feel as if they were dreaming; after all, these were three trillion World Crystals, not simply ordinary stones. Even families like the Huangfu and Zhao Families couldn’t possibly produce such an amount. ⅇ

Mo Tian looked at Ye Feng and shouted loudly: ”Aren’t you the rich one? Go ahead and bid a higher price, then!”

”I give up...” Yet Ye Feng spoke calmly. Although his voice was not loud, it was clear in the entire auction hall, causing the entire venue to fall into silence, leaving everyone dumbfounded.

Especially Mo Tian, who was completely stunned. He did not expect that Ye Feng would keep bidding.

Mo Tian seemed to realize something, his face suddenly turned ugly, completely speechless.

Chi Bao Daoist announced loudly: ”Young Master Mo Tian bids three trillion World Crystals. Anyone willing to offer a higher price?”

However, everyone descended into silence; after all, who among them could produce three trillion World Crystals?

Chi Bao Daoist declared loudly: ”Since no one continues bidding, I hereby announce that the Qingxuan Furnace is obtained by Young Master Mo Tian!” Then, Chi Bao Daoist looked at Mo Tian and said: ”Young Master Mo Tian, because the amount is enormous, please pay the World Crystals first!”

However, Mo Tian remained silent, his expression extremely awkward. Chi Bao Daoist frowned: ”Young Master Mo Tian, what is happening? Please submit the Crystals!” Yet Mo Tian’s face remained deeply embarrassed.

”I don’t have that many Crystals!” Indeed, that would require three trillion Crystals; even if the Demon Spirit Clan could produce them, it would be at a painful cost. Mo Tian is not yet the Clan Leader, merely the heir.

At this point, Mo Tian was not qualified to produce such an amount of Crystals. Even if they could, the Demon Spirit Clan would certainly not use so many World Crystals merely for a Qingxuan Furnace. Hearing Mo Tian’s words, Chi Bao Daoist’s face instantly darkened.

”Young Master Mo Tian, why did you randomly call out prices if you couldn’t pay? Do you think the Treasure Pavilion can be easily bullied?”

As soon as he finished speaking, sixteen figures instantly appeared in the auction venue. A terrifying, powerful aura burst forth, enveloping the entire hall, making everyone feel extremely uncomfortable.

Each of these sixteen strong individuals was a powerful Peeping Life Realm expert. The terrifying pressure was something even Mo Tian couldn’t resist, making his face turn extremely unpleasant. Then, he angrily looked at Ye Feng: ”It’s this bastard; he called out prices first. If he hadn’t randomly increased the price, how could I have done so? It’s all this kid’s fault!”

Yet Ye Feng remained indifferent, saying calmly: ”Mo Tian, what kind of talk is this? You need to understand, you were the one who gave the final price. What does this have to do with me? You’re the one who broke the Treasure Pavilion’s rules, not me!”

Hearing Ye Feng’s words, everyone had to admit that although Ye Feng had randomly increased the price, it was not he who gave the final price. Such are the auction rules: whoever gives the higher final price, wins.

In this case, it had nothing to do with Ye Feng, who, therefore, did not break auction rules.

Chi Bao Daoist looked at Mo Tian with a somber face: ”Mo Tian, you now have three choices: first, produce three trillion to purchase the Qingxuan Furnace; second, die! Third, according to the rules, submit a penalty. Since your bid was three trillion, you must pay twenty percent, which is two hundred billion, as a penalty. Now, which will you choose?”

Mo Tian’s eyes showed a trace of helplessness; he glared viciously at Ye Feng: ”Boy, you’re crafty this time, I admit defeat. Just wait!” Then Mo Tian took out a storage bag, which contained six hundred billion World Crystals.

”I will pay the penalty!” After he spoke, Mo Tian handed the storage bag to Chi Bao Daoist, his face full of distress.

Afterward, Chi Bao Daoist said: ”Since that is the case, the Qingxuan Furnace will be considered unsold. It will thus be awarded to the second highest bidder, Lord Ye Feng, who previously offered two trillion three hundred billion World Crystals. Anyone willing to outbid?”

Ye Feng, however, laughed: ”Chi Bao Daoist, what does this mean? You’ve already declared it unsold, and now you forcefully assign the Qingxuan Furnace to me? You’ve stated it’s unsold, which means it must be re-auctioned according to the rules!”

Upon hearing Ye Feng’s words, Chi Bao Daoist’s gaze turned threatening: ”What? If you don’t have money, you shouldn’t randomly bid! Do you wish to back out now? Having made your choice, you must bear the consequence!”

Ye Feng chuckled lightly, looking relaxed: ”Treasure Pavilion, lauded as the most reputation-conscious commerce association in the universe—what a joke! You can break your own rules at will, speaking of rules with Mo Tian a moment before breaking them with me. Are Treasure Pavilion’s rules so double-standard? Or can Chi Bao Daoist represent the Treasure Pavilion and arbitrarily set rules?”

”You!” Chi Bao Daoist was momentarily speechless, indeed, without the courage to represent the Treasure Pavilion; all its rules are set by the Pavilion Master, and if unsold, it must be re-auctioned, as dictated by the rules. He dared not break them.

Chi Bao Daoist reluctantly nodded and then said: ”Alright, let us re-auction the Qingxuan Furnace, starting at three hundred billion, with each increment no less than ten billion World Crystals!”

”Six hundred billion!” Ye Feng did not hesitate for a moment, stating his price directly, leaving everyone astonished.

At that moment, they were no longer sure whether Ye Feng was really just randomly bidding.
