The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 1395: Chapter 1413: The Patsy [Part 1]

”Three thousand!” Hearing this number, Zhang Peng was taken aback. You have to know, Zhang Peng is still a student, and three thousand is not a small amount for him. Zhang Peng looked at the red hair and said, ”Three thousand is too much, can’t it be a bit less? We’re both students, and we can’t come up with so much money...”

But the red hair was adamant: ”I said, three thousand means three thousand, not a penny less! Do you know how many people want to work here? Even a waiter earns four thousand a month, and even more for watching over things. I’m only asking for a three thousand introduction fee, which is completely worth it, understand?”

”Fine, I’ll give you three thousand!” Feng said, taking out his phone and scanning to transfer the money.

Soon, the red hair received Feng’s three thousand. Both the red hair and curly hair were stunned, not expecting Feng to transfer the money so readily. Feng asked the red hair, ”Is it okay now?”

You two wait outside for a moment, I’ll go find the manager!” the red hair said to Feng and Zhang Peng.

Then, the red hair walked into the bar, and shortly after, he came back out.

Feng asked, ”How did it go?” The red hair shook his head helplessly, ”Sorry, kids, our manager is not here. You’re not lucky today. I think you should come back tomorrow; the manager will definitely be here then!”

Hearing the red hair’s words, Feng frowned, and Zhang Peng said anxiously: ”How can that be? We’ve already paid you money, how can you not introduce your manager to Feng? If you refuse to introduce Feng, then give back Feng’s money! You can’t just take someone’s money and not do the job, right?”

The red hair smiled slightly, ”Don’t worry, even though our manager isn’t here, I can call him over.”

Zhang Peng said, ”Then hurry up and call your manager over!” The red hair remained unhurried.

”Don’t rush; I told you, our manager is very busy. If we make him drop what he’s doing to come here, it’s not suitable. We need some money to smooth things over, you understand?” The red hair smiled slightly.

Zhang Peng got angry but didn’t dare to act out, ”Didn’t Feng already give you three thousand earlier?”

The red hair shook his head, ”That’s different; you see, the earlier payment was the introduction fee for asking me as your friend to introduce you. But now, it’s different. This is the fee for asking the manager to come over, and he is busy now. If I just bring him over, he might get angry and possibly punish me, or deduct my salary.”

So, I must make up for the loss. Wouldn’t you agree, so don’t you think you should give me some money to make up for the loss?”

Feng furrowed his brow and then asked, ”Fine, tell me, how much more do you need?”

”Five thousand!” The red hair was straightforward this time, asking for a high amount.

”Deal!” But Feng didn’t hesitate at all, agreeing right away, surprising both the red hair and curly hair. They didn’t expect Feng to be so generous as if he was very wealthy. The red hair quickly took out his phone to let Feng transfer the money.

Soon, Feng transferred five thousand to the red hair’s phone, satisfied, the red hair nodded, ”Alright, you wait for a moment, I’ll head back to the bar to make a call to the manager, hoping he can come over!”

Feng waited, his expression unchanged, but Zhang Peng felt something was off.

”Feng, why do I feel he’s deliberately fooling you? Is he scamming you?” Zhang Peng asked.

Feng remained calm and said faintly, ”If he dares to cheat me, he’ll regret it...”

Sure enough, after a short time, the red hair returned, smiling, ”Congratulations, young brother!”

Then, the red hair approached Feng and patted his shoulder, ”I’ve spoken with the manager, but he still can’t come. But don’t worry, the manager has agreed to let you join us here...”

”Oh~~, is that so?” Feng looked at the red hair, who laughed, ”Of course it’s true, why would I lie? But there’s still one requirement to join us, and that is you must pay a guarantee deposit!”

”Guarantee deposit?” Zhang Peng was instantly angry, certain that the red hair was playing both him and Feng.

”Yes, a guarantee deposit, surely you have heard, our Night Bar’s boss Mr. Jin is affiliated with Qingyue, the most powerful underground force in Yanyue. Once you enter here, you might learn our secrets, so to prevent leaks, we require a guarantee deposit!”

Feng’s expression immediately darkened, looking at the red hair, he asked calmly, ”How much is the guarantee deposit?”

”One hundred thousand!” The red hair didn’t hesitate, directly quoting a steep figure.

”What! One hundred thousand?” Zhang Peng was completely shocked, thinking he must have misheard.

That’s one hundred thousand, equivalent to a year’s expenses for an average family in Yanyue, and yet he wants one hundred thousand.

Both the red hair and curly hair gave Feng a cold smile, seemingly treating Feng as a lamb ready to be slaughtered. Zhang Peng anxiously said, ”Feng, they’re just playing us. How on earth could they want one hundred thousand? You don’t need to join. I know you want a high-paying part-time job, but you can find a good one even if you don’t work here.

Later, I’ll ask my uncle to help you find a part-time job, with your skills, you definitely won’t lack work!”

Zhang Peng knew many foreign students like to find part-time jobs in Yanyue because of Yanyue University’s reputation and the quality of its students, many companies welcome Yanyue University students to work part-time, not to mention Feng is a Martial Artist, even the Martial Arts Club’s Deputy Director Liang Le is no match for Feng...

So Zhang Peng was confident that Feng could easily find a high-paying part-time job.
