Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever

Chapter 87: Chapter 87 - She’s bold, and I like her already

Then something unexpected happened. Seraphine smiled.

The quiet curve of her lips appeared so suddenly that Ravyn’s confidence faltered for the briefest moment, because the reaction was nothing like what he had predicted.

Instead of fear or humiliation, her expression carried a strange composure that stirred an uneasy feeling in his chest while he watched her closely.

And for the first time since this confrontation began, Ravyn felt the unsettling suspicion that the situation might not unfold exactly the way he expected.

Seraphine had already planted the trap for Ravyn long before this night ever began, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing that every step he took from this moment forward would lead him closer to his own destruction gave her a strange sense of calm that steadied her nerves even in a room filled with powerful men who believed they controlled the world.

Her plan rested on patience and precision, because the goal was never to attack him recklessly or expose the truth too early, since that would only give him time to escape the consequences that had been building around him like invisible chains tightening with every passing day.

The real objective had always been to make Ravyn comfortable enough to return to the pack, to let him relax just enough to believe that he still held power and control over the situation, because once he stepped back into the territory where Damon was waiting, the DNA test would finally expose everything that Seraphine had been searching for including Bryan.

When that moment arrived and the truth surfaced, Ravyn would discover that the life he had carefully built around lies and arrogance would crumble beneath him in a way he could never repair, and the thought alone made Seraphine feel as if she had already won a battle that he had not even realized had begun.

After the truth came out and Damon secured the evidence he needed, Ravyn would reach a point where he would curse the very moment he was born, because Seraphine had already decided that once she uncovered everything connected to Daisy, there would be no more restraint holding her back.

Every secret, every hidden crime, every twisted move he had made behind closed doors would surface under the light, and the consequences waiting for him would make the humiliation of this night feel like a harmless memory.

Damon would return to the city afterward to focus on his company, while Seraphine watch Ravyn’s empire collapse piece by piece like a burning tower that could no longer support its own weight.

The idea of witnessing that downfall carried a cold satisfaction that she did not bother hiding from herself, because there were certain enemies who only learned their lesson when everything they loved turned to ashes.

That vision of the future remained clear in her mind, although the present demanded something equally important, because none of her plans would move forward at the speed she needed without a massive amount of capital fueling the engine behind her growing business.

The ventures she wanted to start would expand faster than anyone expected, and every project required resources, connections, and money that could keep the momentum alive.

If she allowed things to crawl forward slowly, the ripple effect would drag down everything else she had already started building, since every investment, every partnership, and every expansion depended on the others moving at the same pace.

A single weak point could delay the rest like a chain reaction, and Seraphine refused to allow her future to stall simply because she hesitated tonight.

That thought strengthened her resolve as she raised her chin slightly and spoke with a boldness that filled the room like a spark igniting dry fuel.

”Alright, I don’t have many chances left anyway, so whatever challenge is hiding behind number three, I accept it,” she announced with unwavering confidence.

Several men inside the circle raised their brows the moment those words left her lips, because anyone familiar with the traditions of the circle understood that the third option rarely ended in anything pleasant, especially for someone walking into the game for the first time without allies strong enough to shield them.

A slow grin stretched across Gordon’s face as he leaned back comfortably, his eyes gleaming with amusement and curiosity that had already been growing stronger since the moment Seraphine stepped into the room.

”She’s bold, and I like her already,” Gordon said with a playful tone that carried more interest than he bothered hiding.

Everyone present already understood what his attention meant, since Gordon had never been subtle when someone captured his interest, although deep down he knew that Seraphine had already impressed him in a way few people managed.

Standing her ground against men like Ravyn and Voren required courage that most individuals lacked, and even the powerful businessmen gathered here held a level of respect for those two figures, including Mark and several others who had witnessed their influence across the business world.

For Seraphine to confront either of them without fear felt almost unbelievable, and the tension building in the room began to take on a life of its own.

Ravyn opened his mouth as if preparing to speak, although before any words could escape him, Leon’s voice cut sharply through the atmosphere.

”Wait.”

The single word caused a ripple of silence to spread through the room, because even the faint hum of conversation died down as heads turned in Leon’s direction.

The only sound that continued floating through the air came from the soft music playing in the background, a smooth rhythm designed for a gathering that blended business discussions with indulgent entertainment.

Unlike the overwhelming volume found in nightclubs, the music here remained low enough to allow every person in the room to think clearly despite the alcohol flowing freely and the countless temptations scattered around them like decorations.

While everyone waited for Leon to continue speaking, Seraphine allowed her gaze to wander across the room, although the sight that greeted her nearly turned her stomach.

Not far away, one of the escorts knelt in front of a man whose aura made it obvious that he was human rather than a werewolf, and the woman moved with practiced confidence as gave him a blow job without a hint of shame.

The man leaned back in his seat with his eyes half closed and his expression drowning in pleasure, completely oblivious to the conversations, negotiations, and silent power struggles happening around him.

Seraphine felt a wave of disgust rise in her throat as she watched the scene unfold right in the open, because the lack of restraint and dignity surrounding the act made it impossible for her to look at that man as someone worthy of respect. Anyone capable of losing themselves so completely in a moment of indulgence, especially in a room filled with people discussing serious business, clearly lacked the discipline she expected from a partner.

She silently promised herself that no matter how wealthy or influential that man might be, she would never enter into a business deal with someone so easily consumed by their own desires.

Her attention drifted again, only to land on another display that tightened her chest with irritation.

A large hand gripped the ass of a woman standing beside the couch, squeezing her with an aggressive familiarity that made the woman wince slightly even while she forced a flirtatious smile to remain on her face.

The man responsible for the crude gesture happened to be someone Seraphine recognized instantly. Riven Thorne, the Alpha of the Pulse Pack.

The sight made Seraphine’s stomach twist, because watching someone in his position behave with such blatant disrespect toward the woman beside him only confirmed her belief that power often rotted the character of those who held it.

Before she could dwell on the unpleasant scene any longer, Leon gently caught her arm and guided her toward a quieter corner of the room where fewer eyes watched them.

”Sera, step down while you still can and keep your dignity intact,” Leon said quietly, his voice filled with genuine concern that he made no attempt to hide. ”Mr. Ashkael is reasonable enough, and I believe I can talk to him on your behalf.”
