Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Clearly, Wan Xing didn’t pack anything during those ten minutes, she was simply battling with the bed.

Su Han couldn’t help but sigh as she watched this scene.

She didn’t understand why Wan Xing liked collecting these useless things so much.

Yet she began cleaning up anyway.

First, she picked up the doll that had fallen to the ground, did a simple cleanup, and started sorting the chaotic potions, labeling the newly made ones and storing them in different potion cabinets.

By the time everything was tidied up, an hour had passed.

It was then that Wan Xing slowly woke up, moved from the bed to the nearby recliner, wrapped herself tightly from head to toe, leaving only sleepy eyes and fair calves exposed.

Her pupils unconsciously followed Su Han moving around the room.

”Did you awaken ’Pharmacological Insight’?”

”Yes, I just discovered it yesterday.”

”So quickly...”

Wan Xing mentioned with a hint of emotion.

Despite the praise, Su Han remained humble, ”Director Xu said twelve is the best age for evolution.”

Seeing Su Han about to open the special material cabinet prepared for Yu Jing, Wan Xing quickly stopped her, ”It’s time for the theory class today, how much do you know about the ’Pharmacist’ path?”

Without hesitation, Su Han replied, ”I’ve read the materials from Director Xu; the skills that form the ’Pharmacist’ are ’Visual Analysis,’ ’Pharmacological Insight,’ and ’Extraction,’ although I haven’t learned ’Extraction’ yet.”

”That’s normal, I also took a long time before advancing to Tier One.”

”But I heard my father say that it seems you wasted some skills, then evolved the core skill of ’Pharmacist’ the next day after adjusting your direction, right?”

”Is that so?” Wan Xing laughed it off, pulling her calf back into her clothing, ”Just lucky, I suppose.”

Su Han suspiciously asked, ”How long till you advance to Tier Two?”

”Just waiting for the right timing.”

”An opportunity?”

”Something like that, maybe I’ll advance when I draw my favorite anime badge...”

Su Han had a metaphorical black line appeared on her forehead, ”So you can advance to Tier Two at any time?”

”Um...” Wan Xing realized she had slipped something, awkwardly laughed, ”That’s not exactly true.”

Su Han couldn’t help but rub her forehead, not needing to ask, she could probably guess that Wan Xing was reluctant to advance to Tier Two due to not wanting to work; once she advanced, she’d have more abilities and responsibilities.

Given her sluggish, homebody nature, she’d rather stay in this small room forever.

”But I remember there’s a Tier Two skill called ’Living Body Cultivation,’ linked to the main direction of Tier Two, have you chosen anything for it?”

”Oh, that? I grabbed a clump of ghost mushroom, I’ll just raise that when the time comes.”

Wan Xing said carelessly.

”Can you really do that?”

Su Han exclaimed in shock.

”Why not? Ghost mushroom’s traits are hallucinogenic and rapid reproduction, so evolving the Tier Two ’Living Potion’ based on it should have healing and hallucinogenic effects, and if lucky, might include traits like familiar group attributes, which would be good.”

Wan Xing replied seriously to Su Han.

If it were anyone else, she might have brushed them off, but Su Han was walking the same path, so as a teacher, even if she was only partially responsible, she should explain the pros and cons.

Halfway through, Wan Xing suddenly remembered something Hu Shuo had mentioned.

Her eyes instinctively wandered over the girl.

”Sister Wan Xing.”

”Hm?”

”Is there something on my face?”

”Uh, no, alright, I might have to set up my own department in the future.”

”Does that mean you’re going to be a manager, Sister Wan Xing?”

Su Han’s eyes brightened.

”Yes, just doing it because I have to.”

But Wan Xing still looked dejected.

Seeing her like this, Su Han felt helpless about her lack of ambition; if she had such an opportunity, she’d definitely seize it.

It was saddening that ever since taking on the task of investigating the Tongzhou Association, she often felt powerless, coming close each time but inexplicably failing, with no substantial progress till now.

She could only gently suggest, ”Sister Wan Xing, maybe you could find ways you enjoy doing things...”

”Ways I enjoy?”

Wan Xing’s eyes flickered, maybe she had an idea.

”Xiaosu.”

”Eh?”

Su Han felt uneasy, whenever Wan Xing called her that way, it usually meant she wanted to command her.

”Will you follow me in the future, right?”

”Probably, I guess so, since I’m a ’Gatherer’...”

”Then there’s no problem, I’ll give you a codename.”

Wan Xing squinted her eyes, smiling like a fox, not giving her a chance to refuse, ”How about White Porcelain?”

Su Han felt a bit helpless, why does she always like to name things?

Wan Xing’s lessons went by quickly, thanks to her rather laid-back personality, Su Han felt no pressure. Well, she should now be called Miss White Porcelain.

A strange nickname.

Walking out of the potion room, Su Han went to the back cart for a meal, just as she sat down, a woman in her late twenties or early thirties sneaked over, whispering, ”Sister, I see you eat here alone every day, don’t you have family?”

Su Han felt a sense of unease, but with people coming and going around her, she didn’t mind if this person was up to something.

”I have, but they’re not here.”

Su Han hesitated, knowing no one on the train understood how to feign innocence better than she did.

Sure enough, Su Han’s response was taken as an act of strength by the woman, who smiled slightly, ”Don’t worry, I just sympathize seeing you alone, reminding me of my sister, I wanted to chat.”

Su Han didn’t refuse, exchanging some idle conversation with her.

Just when she was about to finish her meal and end this dull chat, the woman mentioned, ”...we’re just an organization of mutual assistance, no need to do anything except help each other...”

When hearing this, Su Han shuddered.

No one understood better what ”mutual assistance” implied!

Miss White Porcelain gritted her teeth internally.

Tongzhou Association!

Finally, after so long, she caught a lead!

But internally, Su Han harbored suspicions; after not catching anything for so long, why was someone approaching her now?

Could it be another prank like previous clues?

But she had to try.

Directly joining the Tongzhou Association was impossible; this woman might not know her identity, but once she left the dining car, others would quickly recognize her as the train conductor’s adopted daughter, and she’d be exposed.

She had to take advantage of this moment, extracting as much information as possible!

With that in mind, Miss White Porcelain calmly slowed her eating pace, with a mix of hesitation, curiosity, nervousness, and worry, she asked, ”What kind of organization is the Tongzhou Association?”

This led to a long, hour-long indirect probing.

The woman spoke excitedly, almost treating Su Han as a formal member, holding nothing back, talking till her lips were parched.

Once the atmosphere seemed right, Su Han tentatively asked, ”So who is our president?”

”I don’t know the president’s name, just that he’s a tall, thin man, relatively steady, seems to work in manufacturing...”

The woman didn’t notice the girl’s pupils had shrunk to needle-like size.

Moreover, she was slightly trembling.

”Does he often say ’no worries’ when speaking?”

”Yeah, yeah, seems he has that habit.”

Inside, the girl was in chaos.

If it were someone else, she might not know, but this person she was way too familiar with.

Thin, works in manufacturing, has verbal habits.

Though instinctively she felt it couldn’t be anyone else, internally she couldn’t help but wildly question.

He was the assistant her father assigned to her!
