Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Carriage No. 16 still doesn’t have a single camera; the sickbed by the window’s edge has almost become He Jie’s special spot, where he spends more time lying down each month than he does at home.

Wrapped like a mummy, He Jie lies on the bed, casting a sideways glance at the two young people sitting nearby.

Qu Hang peeled a black-skinned fruit, quickly revealing its pale yellow flesh, then he sliced it with a small knife and speared a piece to offer to He Jie.

Damn, the tables have turned.

He Zhenzhen chirped from the side, ”Dad, this is called a black apple. It tastes like mashed potatoes with butter, melts in the mouth, and helps promote bone growth. Director Xu said it’s best for patients like you with comminuted fractures.”

Han Qin chimed in, ”Yeah, Xiaohang is feeding you, why aren’t you eating?”

Though Qu Hang was expressionless, He Jie thought the kid must be elated inside. With his wife and daughter persuading him, he could only open his mouth and bite, feeling nothing sweet or fragrant, just a nauseating sensation as if he’d eaten a fly.

The door opened, and Liang Kuan’s burly figure squeezed inside.

Seeing his old partner, the bit of annoyance in He Jie’s heart instantly disappeared, but he still glared at him fiercely, ”I don’t object to you two being together, but Zhenzhen is only eighteen this year, at least wait until she’s twenty, got it?”

He Zhenzhen blushed and tapped He Jie’s arm.

”...So many people here!”

He Jie growled impatiently, ”Alright, alright, you two stop being an eyesore. Make room for your Uncle Liang and Auntie Xu.”

After the greetings, only He Jie and Liang Kuan were left in the room.

The atmosphere instantly cooled down, but it wasn’t awkward.

”Finally gone.” He Jie let out a long breath, nodding at the cigarette Liang Kuan brought, ”Hurry up, give me one.”

Liang Kuan lit a cigarette for him and put one in his own mouth.

He Jie was slightly surprised.

The sunset cast their shadows on the opposite wall, occasionally distorted by the smoke.

The two men smoked in silence.

”Sorry.”

Liang Kuan’s lips twitched as he spoke in a muffled voice.

If not for his daughter’s issue, the train wouldn’t have been so fiercely attacked.

He Jie suddenly coughed, some blood on his lips. Originally lying sideways while smoking, now his eyes strained upward, seeing the guilt under Liang Kuan’s eyes.

He didn’t speak, forced himself to move, removed his plastered hand, first lightly touching his own chest, then directly striking Liang Kuan’s chest with a thud.

This was a simplified sign language, yet conveyed clearly.

”I trust you with this.”

Liang Kuan was momentarily stunned, then smiled relievedly, ”Leave the rest to me.”

”Bang!”

The door on the other side was opened, and another man as burly as Liang Kuan walked in, though wrapped no less than He Jie, he still wore an ostentatious white suit, revealing his bandaged chest.

The gazes of the two muscle giants clashed, Tier Two aura igniting at the same time, like two ancient fierce beasts roaring at each other, hearts pounding like drums, blood rushing like rivers, both wanting to overpower the other.

The powerful sound of heartbeats resonated simultaneously in the carriage, and the smoke in the air was momentarily squeezed straight!

He Jie, lying in the middle, had his hair stand on end, immediately cursing, ”Shit! Did you two plan to mess with me?”

Lian Jin laughed heartily, controlling the natural burst of aura, ”Wanted to test myself against you when I went to Zhijin last time, but then I was only Tier One, now there’s no problem, want to take a chance?”

”Alright.”

Liang Kuan readily agreed.

He Jie looked at Lian Jin, ”Speaking of which, you being Donghuang Heavy Industry’s young boss, what are you running to the train for all the time?”

Lian Jin found a bed to lie down on, justifying, ”Our medical care isn’t as good as your train’s, hell, you even have VIP wards! Also, I’m allied forces, what’s wrong with mooching off your medical logistics?”

Though they’ve only spoken a few times, the countless battles of life and death have forged a deep bond of friendship.

He Jie pursed his lips, ”Why don’t you merge Donghuang Heavy Industry with our Armed Train.”

Lian Jin suddenly sat up, eyes sparkling, ”It’s not impossible, I feel like my sister and Su Huan might have a thing going.”

At these words, He Jie’s eyes lit up, almost sitting upright, ”Damn, is the info reliable?”

Lian Jin pointed at his eyes, ”Saw it with my own eyes! But if we merge, there’s a problem, whose orders would we follow?”

”Of course Donghuang Heavy Industry would follow ours?”

”Heh, with my sister’s personality, enduring for a while is doable, but truly listening to others, that’s dreaming. Better think about how to fight the Four Nations next.”

He Jie squinted his eyes, ”National warfare?”

Lian Jin sneered, ”How could we let those bastards have an easy escape? My Donghuang Heavy Industry’s Heavy Armor Brigade had a hard time coming over, can’t have a wasted trip.”

He Jie nodded, ”Your Heavy Armor Brigade isn’t bad, enough to support our train.”

”Bullshit, how many people do you have left? Still want to be the main force?”

”The ones left are average Tier One! Is that enough?!”

...

Everyone underestimated Su Huan’s ruthlessness and Lord Lian’s domineering nature.

On January 25, 2037, Armed Train and Donghuang Heavy Industry united to launch a nation-destroying war. After preparation, they split into two groups to attack Korea and the White Elephant.

The next day, Tan Junyue fought fiercely with the remnants of the Alliance Army, slaying over thirty thousand on the spot, with countless missing.

On the 27th, they reached the city gates.

That day, Korea was annihilated.

On the 28th, the White Elephant was annihilated.
